Chapter 84: Daydream Fog
Chapter 84: Daydream Fog
Chapter 84: Daydream Fog
When Logan noticed Khal’s movement speed, an unnoticed grin formed on his mouth while shock flashed inside his eyes; he was able to do it! He truly did it!
One’s Essence was just like one’s blood; it flowed through veins inside the body while it meant life too. It could be said if one loses all the Essence from their body, they are as good as dead people.
The only difference however between Essence and blood was that the latter one could not be controlled by will like the former one. Because Essence flowed through so-called Essence Veins almost all the time, while sometimes flowed within Essence Paths which only happened when one practiced a Cultivator Level Secret Art, it could not be brought outside the body.
However, because there were a lot of Essence Veins close to the skin, by thickening the Essence inside the veins, it was manageable to bring a small portion of Essence outside the body for a limited time; but for that one needed loads of practice, an insane amount of precision in Essence control, and experience with the Essence itself!
He revealed Khal this possibility only because he wanted to show him that the Secret Art he chose was full of flaws that normal people couldn’t achive to correct. But who would have thought, he not only was able to correct this mistake of the Secret Art but even could master it together with the special Essence control! And all of this under a single day!
Of course, he left Khal behind after their sparring session because he wanted to see if he could get the hang of this strange Essence control, and learn how to thicken his Essence, but one day… Wasn’t it a bit too fast?
However, what Logan didn’t know, was that Khal only managed to ‘master’ this Essence control all because he had his Heaven’s Eyes.
Thanks to his Talent, he was able to inspect and examine every inch, every millimeter of both the interior and exterior of his body in extremely high quality without missing a single thing! With this kind of power, the biggest surprise would be if he would fail to control his Essence with such precision like this and fail to imitate Logan after a day!
Also, to tell the truth, he was already able to shape his Essence’s size inside his body way back when he brought up the Treasure Stone from the lake, so getting the hang of it wasn’t a big challenge for him at all.
“Even though you are fast, I only need to hit you once and it’s my win!” said Alia and swung her arms the next second.
“…”
With his Heaven’s Eyes active, Khal watched as several yellow needles came at him at once, but compared to the last time, she aimed not only at him but several places around him too! It was apparent that she learned from his previous mistake and corrected herself, and decided to target his surroundings too.
But unfortunately, this was not enough to make Khal feel scared nor get the urge to give up. Instead, he pushed his feet deep down into the ground while making his blue Essence circulate around his feet faster and faster. And the next second…
*BOOM!*
With an explosion akin to detonating a bomb, leaving a deep footprint in the ground, Khal’s figure burst forward, and with a translucent flicker like a phantom, he appeared right behind Alia.
“I wo-, huh?” just as Khal was about to swing his fist and declare his victory, suddenly Alia waved her sleeve, effecting in a mass amount of yellow mist to broke out from her body at once.
Khal’s reaction speed was luckily fast thanks to his Heaven’s Eyes, he halted his assault and without a second thought increased his distance from the fog and Alia in a flash.
“What is that?” pondered Khal, and watched the mist slowly retracted into Alia’s body, leaving no trace behind that it was there a few moments ago.
Turning around, Alia formed several more yellow needles between her fingers and smiled, “You can’t beat me, just admit defeat already! If you try to approach me, my Daydream Fog will seep into your body through your skin and you will be dead! But naturally, I will control it to an extent to avoid your death, so you will be just put into an unconscious state for a day!”
“Hmm…” however, Khal only looked at Alia with a blank expression upon hearing that, almost like he did not listen at all.
“What? You don’t believe me?” asked Alia with visible irritation in her voice, misunderstanding Khal’s silence.
Of course, Khal definitely belived her, it was not a question. No, the reason why he looked so blank was because…
“Umm… I’m… I’m here…”
“!?”
Everyone present turned dead silent as Khal’s voice fell, while Alia’s body flinched slightly. Right now, Khal was standing about 10 or so meters away from her, but Alia was looking not toward him, but toward Logan who stood a few meters away from him!
“…”
Silence descended onto the whole Arena and no one dared to speak. Even Logan looked stupified by this and didn’t know how to react; just now, Alia spoke with such might and determination that it could be said she was a bit intimidating. She even told that she will spare Khal’s life! And yet… She talked all of that not at Khal, but at Logan! She mistook Logan, a teacher of Moon Academy, with Khal!
“Pff… Hahaha!” a guy among the spectators couldn’t handle it any longer and started to laugh loudly. This caused a chain reaction, and more and more people started to crack up with ridicule and scorn.
“Haha! She looked so mighty, but look at her now! ‘Just give up already, because if not, I will kill you!’ Haha! ‘But don’t worry I will spare your life!’ Haha! At least before you threaten someone look at them properly! Haha!”
The mocking of the guy who started to laugh caused the crowd to laugh even harder, making the whole place to be filled with ridicule instantly.
As this happened, Alia’s hand lowered down to her side slowly, while her face reddened in embarrassment; even small teardrops could be seen in the corner of her mouth but tried hard not to show them.
“Tsk… That lowlife…” Lyra seeing this sneered with disdain, obviously wanting to smack that guy hard in the abdomen.
Even the guy’s complexion looked ice-cold next to Lyra, while Liza’s and Nate’s faces were no better; it was evident they didn’t like people like that.
In the Cultivation world, it was quite rare for people to have bad eyesight, but even if there were some with one, thanks to the several powerful herbs and medicines, people could improve their sight for a limited time. There were even medicines that could repair bad vision permanently!
However, those kinds of medicines were extremely expensive and only rich people could buy them. Those who couldn’t afford one had to live their entire life with terrible eyesight; some even lived with a vision akin to being blind in their whole lives!
They couldn’t do anything about it, life was just simply poor toward them when they were born. And that is why, those who ridiculed or mocked these people bad fortune, were no better than bugs, disgraceful beings.
The more the guy laughed and mimicked Alia’s previous moments in ‘funny’ way, the louder the crowd became and the more Alia’s body trembled.
On the other, Khal’s face looked extremely dark at this moment.
“Haha! She made he-“
*CLANG!*
*BOOM!*
“!?”
With a piercing metallic sound and a loud blast, a black crystal weapon that looked like a hybrid between a short sword and a dagger, crashed powerfully into the wall behind the guy, turning the stone into fallen debris and dust in a flash!
In an instant, everything came to a complete halt and everyone turned dead silent; so silent that every person in the arena was able to hear their own heartbeat in their ears!
‘…’ the guy who was laughing and mocking Alia all this time now froze up in one place while all the muscle inside his body stiffened up; he was trembling uncontrollably like leaves on a cold autumn day.
Turning his face at the weapon which crashed inches away from his head right into the wall, the guy swallowed back the words he wanted to say next and tilted his gaze at Khal.
But when he did, what met with him was a pair of blood-freezing cold eyes, staring at him with a calm, but darkened expression; with his Heaven’s Eyes, the guy felt like his soul itself was pierced by several daggers right at that moment!
“Haha! This guy!” Nate next to Liza chuckled slightly, his eyes couldn’t hide his awe. Even Jane on the top of the arena looked stunned by this act of his; that was a simple, but an extremely serious warning that even a fool would understand!
Say a single word more and I will kill you!
