Chapter 45: Myriad Evils and the Unfathomable
Chapter 45: Myriad Evils and the Unfathomable
That shout disrupted the thoughts of both men.
When Hiro came back to his senses, he realized that he was holding a steel fork a hair's width away from the masked man's eye.
As for the masked man, his eye was wide open, his pupil dilating in shock and fear.
For a moment, he saw blood and an all-encompassing darkness.
Clang!
The fork fell, dispelling the frightening silence that enveloped his being. He breathed easy once more, and he didn't even care that Hiro slapped his face three times as though patting a disobedient pet.
"Let me be honest with you," Hiro sighed in resignation. "I don't care about you, I don't care about Broski, and I don't care about your little games in the school. If you see me walking over in the future, just pretend that you took the wrong path and walk away. Alright?"
At this point, Hiro noticed the danger in his mental state, and he didn't want to waste his time on these people anymore.
He already had a preliminary guess on how to handle the current problem. However, he needed to return home first.
From the corner on the upper floor of the main hall, Natali and a few other workers watched the scene play out in shock.
One of the waitresses approached Natali and whispered, "How come you didn't tell us he's so fierce?"
Natali had yet to recover from her own shock.
Then, she recalled that Hiro owed her a favor from back then. Although she took it as a silly joke at first, she didn't think of it as a joke anymore.
Perhaps, this little guy… Suddenly, Natali felt herself anticipating the call from Hiro.
Hiro released his grip on the masked man, stood up, and walked away at a leisurely pace.
The masked man wanted to control Hiro and ask him to stop, but he quickly remembered what the bodyguard had told him.
He quickly fished out his phone and sent out a string of messages—it was impossible for them to lose the materials.
They were kept in a secure cloud network with a randomly generated password—this password would be split into four different segments and sent to four random people on the upper levels of the group.
Only when someone gathers all four segments can they view the cloud network's content; it was limited to viewing, though.
Editing, adding, and deleting files was something beyond his scope of knowledge.
How can someone delete blackmail material from there? Although he found it difficult to believe, it was better to confirm it himself rather than waste his time on Hiro.
As Hiro expected, no one followed him out from the A-Club.
He immediately asked Sebastian to drive him back to the mansion. While the butler felt that something was wrong with his employer, he followed the instructions without delay.
Like that, Hiro canceled his plans to visit the nightclub he planned to acquire.
…
Inside the study room, Hiro's mansion.
Leaning back into his chair, Hiro checked the time; the night was still young.
After calming down his straying thoughts, Hiro entered the simulation space once again, but he chose to enter the Transcendent Daoist game this time.
Although he couldn't do anything other than sit and cultivate in this game, Hiro needed the peaceful and tranquil air of that solitary cave dwelling the most right now.
Inside the game, hours turned into days as Hiro calmly meditated. Hiro had the option to meditate in real life with the {Concentration} spell, but he still chose this option.
For the following few days, Hiro applied for a leave of absence from the school and withdrew from all activities, keeping himself either in the study, the dining hall, or the bedroom.
With Arabella's hypnotic abilities, Hiro felt at ease at giving her full rein on the acquisition of a nightclub.
Even if she faced trouble from the syndicates, money and a little bit of hypnosis would solve the problem.
Then, he also provided her with Natali'a contact information and worked as a mediator in-between, facilitating the recruitment.
With those two working together to prop up the nightclub, Hiro could finally relax and continue focusing on his mental state and completing the game.
Of course, Arabella still asked him to name the nightclub on the opening day.
After some thought, Hiro settled on "Myriad Evils" as the nightclub's name.
…
Time passed, and in the blink of an eye, the spring break was closing in.
On this day, Hiro capped at level 70 in the Legend of Babylon, completing the game's plot.
As an Arcana Lord, he was comparable to a Tier-4 Paranormal, but only during the synchronization period.
[Notice: You've completed the hidden mission, "Invincibility? It's just a dream!"

[Notice: Do you wish to activate the {Fantasy Crystal}?]
…
A load of information entered Hiro's mind the moment he defeated Babylon and occupied the celestial throne.
Though the battle was intense, Hiro knew in his heart that Babylon was nerfed in the simulation space.
What Hiro paid most attention to was the so-called anchor for his immaterial dimension.
Having bound the dimensional key to his system, once he used it to enter the pocket dimension coordinates reward by the system, it was added to his list of anchor points options.
Although Hiro had yet to explore that place for all its worth, Hiro was confident in the system's customer service and thus, he chose the dimension as an anchor point without hesitation.
[Notice: Please designate a name for the immaterial dimension.]
Hiro was a little surprised as he asked, "Is choosing a name that necessary? After all, it's immaterial…"
[Notice: Names carrry a lot of weight in the realms of faith energy, so please be careful when encountering symbolism when dealing with faith and deities in the future.]
Hiro understood, and after thinking for a while, he settled on choosing a name that would represent both his immaterial dimension and his secret organization in the Paranormal Society.
Especially in the new world.
"The Unfathomable."
…
Hiro opened his eyes in the study and exhaled with a tired expression.
At long last, he could set his plans in motion and finish that high-priority mission with peace of mind.
Hiro opened his phone and saw that it was early in the morning; students must be on their way to school for now.
He sent Jodi a simple message to start the operation before he sent him dense files of information on every delinquent in the school.
Well, every delinquent that could be described as the head of a clique.
At the same time, he sent even larger files to Broski and his immediate underlings from his Little Boss account, adding a little bit of a warning at the end.
From this point onwards, Inter-High was his territory.
Jobi would claim the credits and act like the new Broski in the school; with the materials he has in hand and the support from Hiro behind the scenes, everything was set to go.
By the end of today's school hours, the delinquent circles of the school would shift greatly.
Another thing that bothered Hiro a little was that Teacher Aiya had yet to return to the school–it had been almost two weeks since she requested for emergency leave.
All of that aside, Hiro sent a similar message to Arabella after he transferred the Nebula Electronics dividend from his personal account to the company's account.
He gave her the green light to start the aggressive expansion plan, acquiring game development teams, production factories, software engineers, and announcing the successful development of the S-gear VR capsule technology.
By the time all of that was done with, Hiro heard Ei's synthesized voice. "The game's source code is ready for use, Master. Do you wish to make any changes?"
"Yes," Hiro answered without hesitation. "Change the game's name and everything related to 'Babylon' in the lore, make it 'The Seeker's Legend' instead."
Hiro would rather the game be called The Seeker's Legend. This way, no one would have the slightest suspicion about his Babylon identity in the future.
If his identity was exposed thanks to one game, Hiro might as well kill himself.
Ei responded with the affirmative, quickly editing the game's data. With Ei's capabilities, even a subpar game development team would be capable of replicating the game.
After all, they would have the help of a futuristic quantum computer in secret.
However, Hiro knew that the revelation of the new S-gear technology is about to shake not one, but multiple industries.
Thankfully, the Sciatis Holdings Limited has the shade of a large umbrella like Nebula Electronics behind it, so it would most likely weather this storm.
As for outsourcing production? The technology would only be announced after the acquisition of the factories, so Hiro wasn't at all worried.
At the moment, he was looking forward to the completion of his high-priority mission at the end of the day.
Also… Hiro smiled, waiting to see how the five behemoths of the gaming hardware industry are going to react.
