Chapter 95: Dawnson
Chapter 95: Dawnson
Asmir Stronghold, Demon Tower, top floor.
It was a vast space bathed in divine energy and holy light. Multicolored streams of mist swirled within the space, and if one were to trace the origin of these colors, they'd find them connected to nine massive mountains.
Then, they would realize that these weren't mountains, but the tails of a massive creature resting prone on the ground, its breathing calm and even while its eyes were shut.
A silent, imperceptible ripple of spatial energy swept over, and the massive creature—Asmir in her Nine-Tailed Fox form, opened her eyes.
"Aren't you guys a little too impatient?" Asmir's voice echoed in the space, but her mouth didn't open.
Buzz!
The endless expanse of white was ripped open, exposing a patch of darkness.
Looking up, Asmir squinted her eyes and said in a light tone, "How bold of you to find this seat's true body. Yours tired of living, I suppose."
"Haha! Here I thought you'd be surprised at how we managed to trace the location of your true body, Asmir. After all, you're a sly fox who always hides her head and shows her tail—it's very difficult for us to kill you."
"You wish to kill this seat?" Asmir finally opened her mouth, no longer transmitting her voice through mental vibrations.
As she spoke, her voice which was infused with divine energy filled the space.
From the crack in the void, five figures stepped out.
A demonic imp, a black tiger, a transparent fish, a gray whale, and a humanoid demon with long black hair.
The one who spoke was the transparent fish, and it continued to talk while swimming in the void, its body stretching for kilometers in the sky.
"You'll soon find out why it's not wise to go against the common interest of an entire race, you sly fox. That stupid giant couldn't even handle your clone, what a waste!"
"Something isn't right," the fish was interrupted by the black tiger. "Shouldn't her consciousness be inside the clone? Why is her true body awake?"
The fish also realized that something was amiss. How could it overlook that little detail?
They planned to sneak into this pocket dimension through the loophole glitch caused by the causality laws during the war, right?
According to the plan, they would isolate Asmir's consciousness outside the dimension, separating it from her true body, and seal the body if they failed to destroy it.
The fish was too optimistic about killing Asmir to the point where he forgot that key factor in the plan—which was the state of Asmir's true body.
"Are you sure that it's not a remnant will left behind in her mind?" Asked the fish, feeling skeptical.
"Are you stupid?" This time, it was the whale that retorted angrily. "Although the mental powers of this fox is strong, a remnant will can at most communicate with others through mental fluctuations, it's not strong enough to control the main body into opening the eyes or utilizing divine energy!"
The fish was a little slow, but he wasn't stupid.
It's just that he assumed that with the presence of divine energy everywhere, it was influenced by their intrusion and not Asmir's deliberate control.
"Dawnson, are you insulting this seat by bringing along these fools?" Asmir ignored everyone else and looked at the humanoid demon with black hair.
The demon, Dawnson, smiled. His smile was kind, bright, and somewhat infectious as he waved his hand. "You children have too much energy to spare, it's fine to be a little mischievous once in a while. Sigh, I really wonder why you left home back then, Asmir."
When the demon spoke, the others went silent. He continued, "It's already checkmate, you know. Your stronghold is surrounded, and three times at that. Do you like my pets? Grooming them to this extent wasn't an easy task, you know."
"A waste of time and resources," Asmir replied coldly. "If anything, only that little imp isn't half-bad, but he's far from worthy to earn this seat's recognition."
Dawnson sighed. "Back then, I told the Master that you're still a child and your personality wasn't firm enough, easily influenced by the outside world. He didn't listen, and a few centuries later, you returned home with such stupid, childish, and radical ideas.
"You even left home with such grand and foolish ambitions. I really don't know why the Master would allow it, but the situation is already clear as it is. Even without making a move, I already got you cornered with these little pets of mine, even though we started from the same line."
Asmir didn't say anything. She slowly stood up, and in the flashing light of divine energy, her main body transformed into a humanoid form as well.
"I was wondering where they got their hands on a vessel of such high quality," Asmir spoke slowly.
Dawnson frowned, as judging from Asmir's words, something must have happened to the minor realm fragment—something unexpected.
He wanted to say something, but his expression turned cold, the kind temperament from earlier washed away in an instant.
"You're insane," Dawnson said, his expression darkening.
"What's wrong?" Asked the fish, as he wasn't on their level, and he couldn't understand what happened to cause their Master's expression to turn so hideous.
However, although he was weaker than Asmir and Dawnson, he wasn't a weakling.
He quickly noticed that something was wrong.
However, it was the demonic imp who spoke up in a dark tone, "You actually used the minor realm fragment together with the loopholes we created to seal off this space, screening us from the Demon Realm."
Everyone's expressions turned ugly. This was no different from indefinite exile, because only when the spatial coordinates of the minor realm fragment adjusted to the spatial coordinates of the pocket dimension would the connection between two independent spaces be stable—at least stable enough to permit passage.
However, there was a 50:50 chance that the dimension would integrate the realm fragment after an unknown period of time, and the other possibility was certain destruction.
In a sense, no matter who the winner of this competition is, even if they could sense the location of the Demon Realm, they couldn't afford to open a portal.
No passage is stable enough to withstand the twisting force of two higher dimensions grinding into one another.
"You've gone mad!" Dawnson wasn't in the mood for any pleasantries. "Although the Master said to teach you a lesson and bring you back, I'll kill you if I had to."
Then, he waved his hand and spoke coldly, "Attack her while I try to offset the merger between the two dimensions."
As he spoke, he heard a scream of pain from the demons around him. Confused, he turned his head to look at the source of the voice.
"Someone is attacking my faith energy!" Valdmor screamed, his expression ugly.
The divine energy around his body was fluctuating fiercely, as though a bomb about to explode. Obviously, his slow regeneration of faith energy couldn't sustain the presence of divine energy, and its attribute was slowly turning into pure demonic essence.
"How is this possible?" Dawnson frowned so hard his eyebrows could squeeze into one.
They accounted for all five of Asmir's generals, so no one would have the time to raid Valdmor's base.
Moreover, everyone understood how difficult it was to infiltrate that place without absolute strength. If someone of that level approached, no one would miss the signs.
Dawnson looked at Asmir, but he couldn't see her expression.
"Little Miss," Dawnson suppressed his anger and spoke bluntly. "You know the importance of that treasure to our family, you wouldn't want to touch some lines now, right?"
Behind the veil of light, Asmir's eyes flickered, but she didn't say anything. After all, she hadn't expected Hiro to do something so extreme either.
A stronghold represented more than just territory, and most Stronghold Lords were no more than gatekeepers if put bluntly.
As long as the stronghold's foundation remained unharmed, no one would bother with the "gatekeeper."
It could be anyone, just like the "pets" raised by Dawnson, and the six generals raised by Asmir.
Just like Dawnson, Asmir treated her generals like little pets, a source of enjoyment.
However, some toys were just too precious to be touched, like that Mirror World, which was just one item from an entire set.
While Asmir remained silent, Valdmor's eyes turned red and he spat out a mouthful of purplish-black blood.
"MY CONNECTION TO THE MIRROR WORLD WAS SEVERED! YOU MUST HAVE GONE MAD, ASMIR!!!!" Valdmor went nuts, and his energy snapped out of control.
With the imbalance of faith energy and demonic essence, the latter quickly devoured the former, causing Valdmor's aura to drop significantly!
At this moment, he was truly hopping mad!
As "pets", their foundation was trash! They relied on the balance between faith energy and demonic essence to reach their level.
To demons like Asmir and Dawnson, faith energy is just a supplement and a tool, same with laws. However, to some demons, faith energy, and laws were very important lifelines.
Dawnson didn't expect Asmir to be so ruthless, while Asmir didn't expect Hiro to be so ruthless either.
However, she could only watch silently as Valdmor cursed, raving about as his body slowly shriveled up. Enjoy exclusive adventures from m-v l'-NovelBin.net
