Chapter 3: System of Horror.
Chapter 3: System of Horror.
Ehh!? What!
Leo's mouth turned agape as he stared at the dead body of the dark brown rat on the ground in puzzlement. He never expected that he would scare someone to its death.
Besides that, how could there be a living being here? Isn't this nirvana, netherworld, or hell?
"Don't tell me, this is the real world!" Leo's assumption shook his very core greatly.
The vision of him seeing the fissure opening in the sky before he died is still fresh inside his mind.
He just thought that it was the thing people saw before they died... He never thought that it might be real!
If that is the case then what really happened here? What is that fissure above the sky? Why there's no human around?
As one question after another question entered his thoughts, when suddenly, a loud sound of metal hitting metal rang and echoed inside his head waking him up from his deep thoughts.
Ding!
[ Congratulations upon successfully scaring someone for the first time!
You have received 100 horror points! ]

[ Congratulations upon scaring someone to death at your first hunt!
You have received 1000 horror points and a complete bind to the system! ]
Ding!
[ You received 1 Exp point! ]
Wha...what is this!?
Leo was startled by the sudden loud sound inside his head, followed by the great awestruck upon seeing the familiar panel that he usually read in fantasy novels that appeared in his very line of sight.
"A system?" Curious and thrilled, Leo stretched the black smoke on his body like a tendril and touched the screen of light in his line of sight only for the tendril of smoke to pass through it.
"Hahaha! Indeed it is a System!" Leo laughs out loud. His hand passing through the panel of light is a testament that he was right that this was indeed a system!
With excitement building up inside him, Leo manipulated the system based on what he read so far from the fantasy books he read.
Sure enough, the panel in front of him changed and began to show his current information.

'Woah, who would expect that I will gain a system one day?'
Seeing the lackluster information about him where the only ones worth mentioning are his high soul power, strength, and innate skill, Leo shook his head in great disappointment.
As a ghost, it is already expected that his soul power would be high and his strength to be non-existent.
If he guessed correctly, the maximum stats for him who was currently level 1 should be around 10 in every attribute, while having a soul power attribute should be exclusive to a ghost.
That is why having 5 in speed and 8 in Magic power is a disappointment in his opinion. It is already a wonder how he got 15 points in his Soul power while being at level 1!
Again, shaking his head in disappointment, Leo decided to check his Innate skill. Hoping that it will be a cool skill somehow.

[ Mind Corrosion: Passively release a strange aura that plummets the temperature in the surrounding area of 5 meters in diameter around the host.
Those who were within the area would fall into a state of constant panic, anxiousness, fear, and anger.

Gaspp!
Leo gasped loudly upon reading the description of his innate skill, he didn't expect that it would be this good. The power to corrode the mind of beings around him passively seems extra powerful in his opinion.
Imagine having a powerful enemy yet they run like a dog due to fear. Even if they didn't run, their combat power would be disrupted if they fell under the effects of his innate skill!
Moreover, as a ghost, Leo expected that a mere physical attack would do him no harm at all! Only magic attacks might affect and damage him! He was almost unkillable!
Sigh...
However, unfortunately, the skill is passive making everyone near him fall under its effect... And his strength is negligible. Even if they couldn't kill him, he could also not injure the other party.
"Sigh... Hmmp, so what I'm a ghost anyway. Who would be willing to get near me?"
Thinking about this, Leo's mood instantly restored to normal before again continuing to inspect his system. Surprisingly other than his Tree Talent the other three are currently locked or empty.
Without any other choice, Leo opened his skill tree to see what it was all about.
Soon, after opening the Skill Tree, a list of tons of skills built like a parallel pyramid appeared in his line of sight, almost causing him to feel dizzy.
At the very top(bottom) of the pyramid was a single skill shimmering with dark gloomy light that stood silently, waiting for someone to touch it.
Curious, Leo clicked the skill in the middle part of the pyramid just to get declined due to the reason of being locked. In able to unlock the other skills, he needed to learn the first skill first and increase his strength before unlocking the other skill to reach the middle part.
Without any choice, Leo navigated through the bottom list and clicked the single lonely skill at the bottom. Soon, information about the skill was presented to his imaginary eyes.

Without thinking too much, Leo purchased the skill reducing his horror points from the original 1100 to 1090 points.

[ Successfully learned Invisibility (Lvl 1) ]
After unlocking the skill Leo didn't immediately check its effects and just browsed above the skill tree. Sure enough, above the Invisibility skill another two new skills shimmering with dark gloomy light entered his sight, waiting to be unlocked.
Ding!
