Chapter 32: Meeting Humans.
Chapter 32: Meeting Humans.
As Leo was fighting the zombies with all his might.
Hundred meters away from his location, a group of humans in different clothes stopped in their tracks.
Raising their head toward the thick Mist of white and green smoke in the distance, the robust man unhurriedly dropped his heavy shield toward the ground, causing the ground to crack and cave due to its weight.
"Mr. Roland, my senses/skill couldn't penetrate through the fog. Although I couldn't see what was currently happening within, I could hear fighting from within the fog... An intense one." A man with an exquisite wooden bow on his back seriously said toward the robust man beside him as he unhurriedly held his wooden bow.
Upon hearing the words, the robust man closed his eyes slightly, seemingly pondering about something before casting his gaze toward the weakening vortex of vitality in the distance.
As if he made off his mind, the robust man again unhurriedly took out the shield he dropped before seriously commanding his group.
"The one advancing to the Foundation realm at least had a rare class job, you should be aware of how important it was for the town.
"If they are a survivor and didn't belong to any settlement, we need to make them join our side!"
"Yes!" The group collectively shouts, before instantly rushing toward the thick fog in the distance...
Soon, the group reached the outer layer of the fog. Only less than a meter away toward the white-green fog.
Frowning slightly as they hack the surrounding zombies outside the fog, a woman holding a 1.5-meter-tall green staff slightly raised her hand as she touched the white-green fog of smoke in front of her.
Gazing toward her hand, the woman saw the green fog drill toward the pores on her hand, toward her nails, quickly entering her internal organ... Although things happened fast, the woman didn't panic at all.
"Poison?" She mumbled weakly.
Although her voice is quite weak, the people around her still hear her voice.
"Dangerous?" The robust man asks as he smashes his shield toward the approaching level 16 zombie, instantly crushing its head.
"Yes, but it needed a lot of time to affect and kill a foundation-level beast." The woman answered unhurriedly.
"I see, Kristine gust of wind." The robust man gestured toward the girl in the distance before pointing toward the fog behind him.

Ding!
[ Congratulations upon killing a Level 16 zombie! ]
"Huff~~"
Leo sighed in relief upon feeling that the number of zombies within the fog decreased by a huge amount, instantly decreasing the pressure he was bearing.
As he was about to continue killing the rest of the zombies within the "Mist of Illusion" skill, a sudden strong gust of wind blew his two skills off. Instantly clearing the vision of the zombies meters away from him.
"F*ck!" Cursing loudly, Leo was about to increase the quality of the mist in the surrounding area when out of nowhere, a group of humans appeared in his vision.
Ehh!?
Not knowing what to do, one of the humans in the group raised his hand toward Leo's location before mumbling in a low voice.
"Cleanse, Heal."
In an instant, a weak gentle light blooms above Leo's head, instantly healing the scratch on Leo's body.
Feeling rejuvenated, Leo warily glanced toward the group in the distance, having no idea if he should be thankful or not.
Ding!
[ -10 in all stats due to being cleansed... ]
Ding!
[ Due to having a physical body, the deduction on stats is getting revoked. ]
Leo sighed in relief upon seeing the debuff on his character panel vanish instantly before casting his gaze toward the humans approaching warily.
Although they help him resolve the zombies in the surroundings, their motive is unclear.
With how chaotic and dangerous life is, trusting other humans without knowing them first is equally dangerous when facing other high-level zombies.
Silently thinking to himself, Leo decided to cast his "Soul scan", toward one of the approaching humans.
Ding!

Instantly, upon seeing the stats of the woman in the distance. The dark brown eyes of Leo instantly constricted as sweat began to appear on his forehead.
"Damn, even that teenager girl might defeat me in a second!'
As Leo was about to enter combat mode, ready to enter his invisibility mode if the other party showed malice toward him. The group slightly raised their hand, signifying that they didn't mean harm.
"We didn't mean harm, we only approached due to the vitality drawn by the air and due to the zombies...Blah~... Blah~..." A young man wearing a bronze monocle said calmly toward Leo as he took a quick glance toward the house behind Leo.
Seeing that he couldn't see the one who was advancing, the young man looked back at Leo as he silently scanned him.
Ding!
[ Human - Level 19 ]
'Only step from advancing to the Foundation Level 1, based on his clothes there's a huge probability that he was a survivor.
'Even his weapon, those weapons could only be got by killing zombies..." The young man silently concluded.
Nodding toward his group, the young man again looked at Leo before continuing. "Are you a survivor?"
"Survivor???" Leo stared at the group as he tilted his head slightly.
F*ck! Is there a different kind/type of survivor? Since I'm alive doesn't mean I'm a survivor...
Seeing that Leo didn't reply and knowing that his question was quite inappropriate and not on point, the young man slapped his forehead in embarrassment before rephrasing his words.
"I mean, are you part of any settlement?"
"Settlement?" Leo asked in confusion before finally understanding what the other party meant.
"No, I didn't even know that there are settlements out there... I only survive by following the back of the horde..."

As they were asking Leo question after question, the phenomena above finally weakened before completely vanishing.
The robust man, feeling that the one advancing finally finished her/his advancement, quickly cast his gaze toward the house behind Leo... To be exact toward the door behind Leo.
Creak...
