Chapter 115: Sisters
Chapter 115: Sisters
Zane emerged from the shower not long later. He had many thoughts in his mind about what had happened, and how to proceed. Conventional morality was something he had never really given a damn about, and when society fell apart, the very notion of such a thing went flying out the window.
Regardless, Zane had preconceived notions about what a proper relationship should be, thanks to society beating it into his head constantly. And it was ultimately a lack of experience with situations like this that caused him to flee Elena's bed, and not speak to her about what happened in a mature and open way.
Hell, Zane emerged from his new quarters almost like a frightened rabbit as he approached the kitchen in a fresh set of clothes. It had been so long since he could say such a thing, as his usual attire was covered in blood and grime from all the violence he had engaged in over the past few weeks.
But the bunker had proper and functional facilities, and was completely self-sustaining insofar as it had its own power generations attached to the mansion which it lied beneath, and had its own means of waste disposal, fresh water, et cetera.
Because of this, Zane and the girls had washed their dirty clothes the night before while Madison slept. In all honesty, Zane looked far less scraggly than normal, having shaved his face, and performed basic hygiene maintenance. Not that his half dead body required such a thing.
But old habits died hard, and Zane emerged from his new quarters looking like a man who had gained a new lease on life. And he was not alone. Elena, Olivia, and Angelica all look much lovelier than normal as they were finally able to perform the basic needs to maintain a prim and proper appearance.
The moment Zane entered the room, Olivia was about to reach out to him and ask where he had been all morning, when Elean rushed forward and kissed him in an open display of affection that caught both Zane and Olivia by surprise.
But Olivia was not visibly wounded by the sight, and instead immediately understood what had happened. Still, she did not say anything, instead giving Elena her moment of victory, while waiting for the girl to boast of her deeds, which happened almost immediately afterward.
"Sorry Olivia, but Zane and I are together now…"
Elena blushed slightly as she clung to Zane, and Zane himself couldn't even look Olivia in the eye, still uncertain about whether or not what he had done was justifiable or not. Olivia however, did not appear dismayed and even smirked as she stood up from her seat and approached the young couple in front of her, before posing a question that caught everyone off guard.
"Oh? So does that mean we are sisters now?"
Elena's jaw dropped when she heard such a shameless question, and Zane felt like death was a preferable alternative to what he was feeling at the moment. Meanwhile Angelica choked on her coffee, not remotely expecting Olivia to be willing to share the only man in their group.
Madison, of course, gazed on in confusion, not really knowing her current masters long enough to understand the complexity of their relationships. It took several seconds for Elena to respond, as she seamed like she had just been dropped with a punch to the liver.
But when she did, her voice was filled with confusion, an expression which her immaculate face shared.
"I'm sorry, you don't mean to say that-"
Before Elena could finish her statement, Olivia approached Zane and kissed him just as Elena had done moments ago, while grabbing onto his other side as if to assert her claim over the man. She then said something that fried Elena's brain.
"That I'm willing to share? Of course I am! You do realize that Zane is the only man here, right? I don't see a problem with the two of us sharing him if we both have feelings for him. I mean Why should I abide by the morality of a world that is dead an gone, as long as Zane doesn't have a problem with my proposal I don't see why I should fight with you, Elena… You don't mind, do you Zane?"
Elena was dumbstruck by Olivia's statement, one which she spoke so confidently about. She looked at Zane, hoping the man would choose her, instead of listening to such a wild idea, but Zane just averted his gaze from either of them. He was embarrassed, and visibly so. This was the first time Elena had ever seen the boy embarrassed, at least not since that fateful night all those years ago.
Olivia, however, forced Zane to look into her blue eyes as she demanded an answer from the young man, who was too inexperienced with women to come up with a proper reason to refuse her proposal.
"Zane, answer me… You don't mind having the both of us, do you? I can't imagine why a boy your age would. Isn't this a scenario that all teenage boys dream about?"
After Olivia grasped hold of Zane's sharp chin, and forced him to look into her eyes, he melted in her hands like puddy, as he agreed to her proposal.
'I… I mean… I don't see why it can't work. What do you think, Elena?"
Elena had immediately begun to pout when she saw that Zane had been seduced by a woman she liked to refer to as "the old hag" and looked away while swallowing her pride. She did not say a word, which, while not confirmation of her acceptance, was a telltale enough sign for Olivia to gleefully hug the both of them and proclaim her victory.
"Then it's decided! Now how about Elena and I get some breakfast going, you all must be starving, and you no longer have an excuse not to eat Zane… After all there are enough supplies here that we can all go wild with meals every day and still never fear running out within their shelf life!"
Olivia then forcefully grabbed hold of Elena's wrist and dragged her off to the kitchen, where Elena would awkwardly work alongside her new "sister" to prepare a meal for their man and the other women in the group.
All the while Angelica gazed upon the scene with bewilderment. When she had pushed Elena to act on her feelings, Angelica just wanted the girl to be honest with herself, even if it meant causing some drama. She never expected Olivia to just embrace the idea of sharing Zane. It truly was a brave new world, wasn't it?
