Chapter 184 - 184 Cleaning Up
Chapter 184 - 184 Cleaning Up
184 Cleaning Up
The trio continued their activity inside the second humanoid demon’s base. And with the native humanoid demons freed from their contract with the forest green humanoid demon, not many of them dared to stay near the two killing machines that couldn’t be stopped by anything.
Moreover, with no contracts binding them and forcing them to fight to defend the base, the already feeble attempt at resisting the two demons became even weaker than before, making it easier for Robus and Cyra to wipe the floor with the base with not-so-much effort.
Blake was quite late to the party and there wasn’t so much he could do other than to do some cleaning up, picking up the humanoid demons that were caught running away in his direction and others which the two demons had missed.
He had eaten a huge number of souls, enough to get himself leveled up to level 14, and even had a surplus of souls. But Blake didn’t eat all the souls that he came across in his friends’ trails.
He did do that, but after reaching level 14, Blake kept his soul consumption minimal, giving the other souls for his two friends to also level up and possibly evolve.
He didn’t know what level Robus was currently at, but considering his own level, then Robus must have also been close to evolving because the two of them had essentially eaten a similar number of souls ever since Blake told Robus about the importance of eating all souls, including the tasteless ones. ‘Robus should be one level away at least, the same as me.’
The real question that Blake didn’t know about was Cyra’s level. He didn’t know what was the case with variants. Whether Cyra was already that strong at birth, or whether she had already eaten so many souls that she could burn down an entire base without running out of nether.
Blake didn’t know, but what he knew was that he would want to also be with them when he reached level 15 and leveled up. He wanted to descend the demon realm together with them since now the three of them were bound by Blake’s covenant, sharing their strength with Blake and Blake boosting their own abilities to make them significantly stronger than before.
And also, Blake enjoyed their company, as they made his life in the demon realm didn’t seem to be bad at all despite the fact that almost all the other creatures that he met in the demon realm except for his group and Vera, even including the humanoid demons who were supposed to be the same species as him, were out to get him and he would also need to kill them if he wanted to advance.
.....
The presence of his two demon friends whom he could talk to, spend time together, play together, and get stronger together, made it so that the concept of everyone else in the world was probably your enemy and you need to kill them for the betterment of yourselves didn’t seem to be so bad for his ex-human mind.
So when the huge gorilla and the walking human-sized fireball had finally killed every humanoid demon in sight, making the scene around the second humanoid base strikingly similar to the condition of the first humanoid demon base that they ravaged about a week ago, Blake told the two of them to eat the souls that they had left behind, so that they would be getting the souls they needed to make themselves stronger.
All the humanoid demons that still had their mind working properly were able to recognize the danger that the two demons possessed, and they ran away the exact second the contract that was binding them had perished, making quite a lot of the humanoid demons successfully got fled from the base and got away from having their souls harvested by the trio.
But quite a long time had passed before Blake killed the forest green humanoid demon, and there was also a large number of humanoid demons inside the base.
Enough for Robus to undergo another level up, making his body about 8 meters tall now, making him almost as tall as the ordinary-sized trees that were about 10 meters tall.
The fact that Robus had only got his body bigger and there weren’t any other significant changes, told Blake that Robus hasn’t evolved yet, and he was now most likely the same level as him, level 14, a level away from level 15, which was the level where they would finally evolve.
And seeing Robus’s body had gotten significantly bigger once again with a level up, made Blake remember to put the unused status points that he got after his level up.
———-
Name:...Blake
Race: Darkness Demon
Level:14 (26/175)
Stats:
Physique: 25
Spirit: 55
Unused: 0
Bloodline Power:
(Darkness Demon) Monarch’s Covenant (2/3)
(Earth Ape Demon) Dark Earth Armor
(Fire Variant Demon) Child of The Dark Flame
Quest:
+(Main) Reach level 15 and Evolve!
———-
Blake was genuinely tempted to put all five points that he got to his physique stat due to seeing how imposing and mighty Robus looked with his body becoming even bigger, which of course, also translated to his muscle and strength becoming more robust.
But remembering that investing all his unused points to his physique at a point where he had practically gone all in with his spirit stat was much less effective and produced less impact than just putting enough points to his weaker stat to keep his body from lagging too far behind while also investing more stats to his ‘OP’ stat, Blake decided against following his impulsive thoughts and just rounded the number of his stats.
More nether in his body and the ability to control his nether better would never be a bad thing for Blake, who practically used nether for almost everything, even more now that he got Cyra’s power that would receive a significant benefit the more nether he could control and have in his body.
Cyra had also eaten the souls just like Blake had told her, but there weren’t any significant changes to her, nor did he feel anything changed from her, making him question whether Cyra was actually already at the same level as him and needed much more souls to evolve because she was an OP variant type demon.
But that was a question that he didn’t have an answer to as even Cyra didn’t know what level she was and how much she needed to level up. The only one who had the ability to see his level and how many souls he needed was him.
The second humanoid demon base currently didn’t look like a proper base at all with destroyed buildings, dark flames, and the absence of any other creatures besides the trio, making the base look like a city setting of an apocalypse movie that Blake had seen back on earth.
However, despite the burning and destroyed buildings all over the base, there was one building that stood in the middle of the base, unharmed from the flames that Cyra spread, and was still fully intact, free from Robus’ huge first that could easily destroy buildings.
It was the building that the forest green humanoid demon had come out from, the biggest building in the base.
Just like the building where the flying humanoid demon lived in in the first humanoid demon base, the one that stood in the center and was the biggest of them all, Blake guessed that the center building of the second humanoid demon’s base would also be similar to the one in the first humanoid demon’s base.
Containing maps of the continent and possibly other personal belongings of the forest green humanoid demon.
Even though the base was literally clear of any other creatures, be it humanoid demons or any other demons, Blake still told Robus and Cyra to watch on the outside of the building, just in case a similar occurrence happened as before, with humanoid demons coming to him asking to follow him.
With Robus and Cyra working together, those humanoid demons that dared to come close would have their souls taken out of their bodies in seconds, which was what Blake wanted as he was firm that he didn’t want any followers to follow him, giving him unnecessary problems and most importantly, drag him down.
“Watch out guys, hurry up and tell me if anything unexpected happ-”
“ROARR!!”
Blake was about to go inside the building to see whether there was anything interesting to him other than a map that he had fully memorized inside his head.
But before he was even able to finish his sentence, Blake abruptly stopped moving his mouth as Robus’ roar also cut him off. Robus had sensed something and his instincts were screaming at him, which turned out to be not only him who felt it.
The three of them, including Cyra, all had turned their heads toward a single direction.
Particularly in the direction of the blown-up gate of the second humanoid demon’s base.
The gate was still destroyed and in rubble due to Blake’s and Cyra’s combined spell.
However, different from before where there was nothing on the destroyed gate, right now, a single creature was standing right on top of the pile of rubbles.
A single creature with a muscular body that had bat-like black wings fully spread to the side. With hand-sized horns on his head, and demonic runes visible on his red skin, there was no way that Blake would have not recognized the figure.
