Chapter 187 - 187 Fighting The Muscular Demon (2)

187 Fighting The Muscular Demon (2)

The muscular humanoid demons clearly knew how many of his kins had ascended the realms to go to the first demon realm as the procedure was not a simple one and not everyone could do it.

And the jet-black humanoid demon was simply not a part of their entourage.

However, with the jet-black humanoid demon’s ability to speak clearly, his appearance that looked more similar to the humanoid demons in the second realm compared to the first realm, and also his ability to use runes, there was simply no way that the muscular humanoid demon would think that the jet-black humanoid demon was a native of the first demon realm.

Especially when he was a runemaster. There was no way for someone to be a runemaster without a guide. And with the resources in the first demon realm, and the lack of any written archives of known runes for the first realm, the possibility of someone being a runemaster was less than 0,1%.

Someone would have to teach the jet-black humanoid demon how to draw and imprint demonic runes in objects. Then he would have to learn the use of different kinds of runes to create the correct rune formation.

It was unthinkable for a self-taught runemaster to appear in the first demon realm.

Hence the muscular humanoid demon asked, “Who are you?”

There was a reason why he and several of his kin were sent up to the first demon realm and made the native humanoid demons their subordinates. The situation in their own realms called them to do extreme measures to solve their problems, and going into the first demon realm was the solution they had come up with.

However, if they were caught, and it had been decided that they would be punished, it would make sense if the jet-black humanoid demon was the one who was sent to deal with them. Hence why the deaths of his kin that happened over the past week.

.....

The lack of answer from the jet-black humanoid demon from his question made the muscular demon warier, but he wasn’t by any means afraid. He was chosen to be the leader of his group and the reason for that was that he was strong enough to hold that position.

He just wanted to know the identity of the unknown runemaster in front of him. No matter the answer, even if the jet-black humanoid demon turned out to be the demon that was sent to hunt his group down, the muscular demon wouldn’t back down.

He had fought with runemasters before, and he had defeated them before.

So then he changed his question, hoping to get an answer, “Are you also the one who killed another of us a week ago?”

Blake’s face then turned to a surprise for a split second, eyes squinted as his mind wandered about how the muscular humanoid demon knew about it.

‘Wait, how did he also find out I killed the forest green humanoid demon?’

The muscular humanoid demon didn’t have the capabilities to read minds, however, Blake’s facial expression was enough for him to determine the answer to his previous question.

“So you were really sent here to hunt us down.” The muscular humanoid demon then once again sent nether to the runes on his back. And without anyone interrupting it this time, the runes glowed, and his bloodline power had been successfully activated.

“Do they really think a single runemaster was enough to do it? They really got their heads too high up in the sky after their reigns to see what it was really like down here at the ground.” The muscular demon stretched his arms, cracking his knuckles. His eyes set on the jet-black humanoid demon.

“Prepare yourselves. I will teach you what it feels like to have your head crushed without using a single rune.”

Blake was genuinely confused as he heard the muscular humanoid demon’s monologue. His words made zero sense to his mind, and Blake wasn’t able to comprehend what the muscular humanoid demon was trying to say, telling him that he was sent here to kill them.

‘Sent here? From where? By whom? Why do I need to kill them?’

‘I do want to kill them to taste their tasty souls and level up… But I wasn’t targeting them because of personal reasons…’

‘Well… Whatever works out I guess… In the end, I will fight him no matter the reason or motivation he had to fight me.’

‘And was that supposed to be a challenge or an insult to runemasters?’ Blake thought as he heard the muscular demon’s last sentence.

However, no matter what the muscular humanoid demon meant by his monologue, Blake knew that it was time to fight. And this time, he would be ready for the muscular humanoid demon’s speed. He wouldn’t be caught off-guard by it again.

Before even seeing the muscles of the muscular humanoid demon twitch, Blake had already made a preparation in his mind to counter the muscular humanoid demon’s charge toward him.

“Cyra, wall! Robus, side!”

With simple short commands, his two friends already knew what they needed to do. In seconds, the two of them acted according to his plan.

The muscular humanoid demon kicked against the ground, winding up his fist as he once again prepared to send his punch toward the trio, particularly the jet-black humanoid demon.

He was ready to receive the huge demonic beast head-on with his fist now that his bloodline power was activated. But the huge fist that stopped his own a few moments ago didn’t come to greet him.

Instead, the muscular humanoid demon was suddenly faced with a towering wall of dark flame, blocking both his way and the view of the trio behind it.

The intense heat that the dark flame emitted was simply not comparable to an ordinary flame, making the muscular humanoid demon throw away the idea of bursting through the flame with his bare body.

Which was the right choice considering how the dark flame would have attached itself to his body, using his flesh and bones as their fuels to burn and exist in the world. essentially eating him until there were none of his body parts left.

But with a single jump while spreading his wings apart, the muscular humanoid demon’s body soared to the sky, went over the towering wall of dark flame, and was finally able to see what the demons behind the wall of dark flame were doing.

Two demons, one the jet-black humanoid demon, the other one the human-sized dark flame fireball, stood in front of each other with their hands almost touching each other, a huge dark flame fireball right in the middle of their hands.

The abundant amount of nether gathered in the huge dark flame fireball was enough to send alarm down the muscular humanoid demon’s mind, making him flap his wings and fly at full speed, going anywhere other than staying in place and becoming an easy target for the huge fireball.

Blake didn’t have enough time to gather enough dark flames in his and Cyra’s hands due to the muscular humanoid demon’s unbelievably quick response. However, that time was still enough for him and Cyra to make a head-sized fireball and also finish a darkness bullet spell.

By the time the muscular humanoid demon’s body appeared high above the sky, Blake released the darkness bullet spell toward the flying muscular humanoid demon.

The spell shot forward at bullet speed, carrying the dense dark flame fireball along with it.

The muscular humanoid demon once again had an inhumane reflex, reacting to Blake’s attack the second the attack had left Blake’s hand. And with fully developed wings on his back, the muscular humanoid demon was able to move fast in the sky, albeit not as fast when he used his feet to move on the ground.

However, the distance between Blake’s dark flame bullet and the muscular humanoid demon was only about a dozen meters apart. The muscular humanoid demon might be able to completely dodge it if he were to use his feet to powerfully dodge sideways with his incredible strength.

But he was currently in the air, and the case was different with his wings that weren’t as robust and powerful as other parts of his body.

Though the muscular humanoid demon succeeded in preventing himself from taking fatal damage from being hit in vital places, the edge of the left side of his stomach was still hit by the edge of the head-sized dark flame fireball.

And a single graze was apparently enough for the dark flame to start its rampage on the muscular humanoid demon’s body.

Just from a single tiny spark on the left side of his stomach, the dark flame soon spread to his whole stomach in a matter of a second.

The muscular humanoid demon tried patting the fire away using his hands, but soon learned that using his bare hands was impossible, and the flame had instead spread to his own hands.

The fight would have ended if the muscular humanoid demon didn’t have any ways to use nether to pat down the fire and from his earlier statement about defeating Blake without using a single rune, that would have been the case with the muscular humanoid demon.

Unfortunately for Blake, the muscular humanoid demon, albeit wasn’t a demon mage, had his own bloodline power.

Sending more nether to the runes on his body, the muscular humanoid demon’s bloodline power was reactivated before he started once again patting the dark flames on his body.

And this time, with the bloodline power activated and coating his fists with nether, the muscular humanoid demon finally succeeded in putting out the flames using his bare hand.

However, just putting out the flames certainly didn’t mean the fight was over yet.
