Chapter 204 - 204 Pain (1)
204 Pain (1)
‘How is this possible !? What did he do!?’ Blake’s mind screamed as he stared at the necromancer in front of him.
His knees had long given up on supporting his body, forcing Blake to use all four of his limbs to prevent his face from being stepped to the ground by the unknown force.
It didn’t take long before the pressure increased even more that Blake could not even support his head up anymore, forcing Blake to break his eye contact with the necromancer and look down at the empty void instead.
He might not have observed the necromancer for long, but it was enough time for him to see before his head was forced to look down to see that the necromancer, was actually smiling from ear to ear as he tried closing up his palm even further, adding more pressure to crush Blake’s soul.
Blake knew his bloodline ability did not betray him. The necromancer was not able to touch his body no matter how hard he flailed his arms or tried to punch him. But now that he was currently feeling pain all over his body, how could Blake not question what had happened.
He remembered clearly that the necromancer was activating his bloodline ability right before he felt the pressure on his body, ‘Is this the necromancer’s ability?’
‘And if it is indeed the necromancer’s ability, then how could he touch me with that ability here? Aren’t we supposed to be unable to hurt each other because it was only our consciousness that was sent here?’
‘There’s no way for us to hurt each other since not even our bodies are here…’
Then something clicked in Blake’s mind.
.....
‘But is he really hurting my body…?’
Blake couldn’t raise his head up anymore to see the necromancer, but he could still picture the necromancer in his mind. And at that moment, pictures of the necromancer’s feats so far when Blake fought him and his horde were played in Blake’s mind.
From the unique trait of the demons in the horde, that couldn’t just be killed by bleeding them out and actually requiring fatal damages to their brains or hearts to actually get the soul out of their bodies, as if the necromancer’s ability was forcing the soul to stay inside until the body was utterly destroyed, to the necromancer’s ability to call upon souls from dozens of meters away to his hand, Blake had thought of the possible reason why the necromancer’s ability had affected him.
‘What if his ability was related to controlling souls…’
The feeling of his whole body being squeezed from all sides was peculiar. As the feeling was different than just simply feeling pressure from above that forced his legs to buckle.
The pressure that assaulted his body literally pressured him from all sides. Meaning his head felt the pressure from above while his legs did not feel the pressure to buckle down, instead, it was pressured from below as if someone was trying to push Blake’s feet inside his abdomen.
But that pressure had become strong enough that Blake couldn’t keep standing, resulting in him falling as if his body was pressed from above with his knees shaking.
It was unthinkable if Blake tried to figure out what happened to his physical body and how the necromancer was putting this pressure on him. However, when he remembered the gesture that the necromancer made to put pressure on him, closing in his palm, then it would make sense if the gesture that the necromancer made was used to directly hold onto Blake’s soul.
A soul’s shape was an orb, and the necromancer’s palm was shaped to hold into a ball shape, while he tried his best to close on his palm, seemingly trying to crush the invisible ball in his grasp.
‘What can I do to get out o-‘
“AHHHH!!!”
Blake’s thoughts were shut down by his own voice that forced him to escape out of his control. The pressure that he felt had suddenly turned into pain, and just like how the pressure pressed onto his whole body, the stinging pain that Blake felt was also spread all over his body.
As if someone was punching on his already bruised skin, Blake’s mouth let out a series of screams that was unheard by his own ears due to the overwhelming sensation of pain that his body was feeling.
If Blake could see the necromancer’s hand, he would see that the open palm was now already half-closed, only halfway from being completely shut into a ball of fist.
The wide creepy grin that had appeared on his face ever since Blake fell had never left the necromancer’s face, in fact, it had become even wider, showing the necromancer’s jet-black teeth that no other humanoid demon has, including Blake himself.
Blake continued screaming at the top of his lungs. If not for the fact that their real bodies were not present, then Blake’s throat would have bled from the excessive screaming, filling his throat with blood and stopping the scream.
Blake’s current condition was exactly the same as the brownish humanoid demon that he had put through the darkness binding and the darkness spikes spell, severe pain continued assaulting his body, yet he was helpless to do anything about it.
Let alone thinking a way out or even realizing what his body had done unconsciously, thrashing and rolling on the floor and screaming without stopping, Blake could not process anything in his mind as it was overfilled with the sense of pain.
Blake could not even regret his decision as his consciousness began to weaken despite his violent thrashing. The pain that he received over time had instead doubled instead of getting weaker as the necromancer’s palm was only an inch away from closing completely.
Blake was only a few steps away from death where he couldn’t even think about his actions when suddenly a robotic voice resounded in his head.
[Host soul had received damage, forcefully ejecting host from The Covenant Space.]
Although Blake could not even hear the voice due to the pain he was still feeling, the voice still did as it said it was about to do.
The endless void around the two creatures then crumbled as the two consciousness was ejected outside, both of them returning to their own bodies.
