Chapter 265 - 265 Fight (4)

265 Fight (4)

The moment the ball of darkness was about to hit his body squarely without even a single thin layer of defense, the scrawny humanoid demon could only brace for impact by gritting his teeth and trying to move his hands to the front of his chest in the hopes that the attack would hit his hand instead of his chest.

Having a broken arm was definitely a better choice compared to having his ribs broken and his insides possibly punctured.

But the ball of darkness, albeit had a lower concentration of darkness element compared to a darkness bullet, only moved slightly slower compared to the darkness bullet spell. It wasn’t moving slow enough for the scrawny humanoid demon’s late reaction to being able to block it.

As a result, the arm that was on its way to block the ball of darkness couldn’t make it in time and the ball of darkness hit the scrawny humanoid demon squarely on his chest.

The scrawny humanoid demon was ready for the worst, he had gritted his teeth, closed his eyes, and even positioned his body for the best possible landing position so that he wouldn’t hurt his chest even more after the ball of darkness hit it.

However, when the ball of darkness actually hit him, the scrawny humanoid demon didn’t feel anything. Not in his chest nor his whole body. There wasn’t a single ounce of pain felt in his body as the ball of darkness went undefended and crashed against his body.

After the force that propelled the scrawny humanoid demon flying had finally gone away and he landed on the ground, the first thing that the scrawny humanoid demon checked was the condition of his chest.

Bending his neck down, the scrawny humanoid demon was surprised to see that there was really not a single wound or even a scratch found on his chest. What he found instead was a bundle of nether, the same one as the bundle of darkness, now found sticking to his chest.

The scrawny humanoid demon tried to rub off the bundle of darkness element, even sending his own nether to his chest to wipe off the bundle of darkness element sticking to his chest, but his attempts turns out to be fruitless as the bundle of darkness element seemed to have found itself to have become comfortable enough to make his chest its new home.

.....

He actually didn’t know what the bundle of darkness elements did to him or what it could do to him, but knowing a foreign object, a bundle of darkness elements from a powerful enemy that couldn’t be underestimated, that is, attached itself to him, there was no way the scrawny humanoid demon would think that the ball of darkness was only a harmless prank.

Fortunately for him though, Vera didn’t leave him hanging on to the answer to his curiosity for too long.

“How do you like it? That’s a spell that my dear disciple made on his own. An original spell that he created when he had only been learning about runes for about a week or two.”

“Ah, that’s why that demon could use runes. You were the one who taught him,” Scrawny replied as he slowly got back on his two feet, his two hands quickly moving to his back the moment he was standing straight again.

The scrawny humanoid demon certainly looked pitiful right now with holes and chars on his wings, and his clothes that didn’t have a self-cleaning and self repair function like the clothes that Vera and Blake wore looked very disheveled with countless wrinkle lines and dirt smearing it. Very different from the first moment when the two sides met when the scrawny humanoid demon looked like a rich grandpa that wore all kinds of fancy pieces of jewelry and fancy-looking clothes.

The scrawny humanoid demon was busy doing something when he suddenly realized what Vera had just said. “Original spell…? Two weeks of learning?”

“Yes. Amazing isn’t he? I couldn’t even make one until a full month of learning,” Vera said with a proud smile on her face and a glowing set of runes on her hand, being held from activating as she seemed to want to have a chat with the scrawny humanoid demon first.

Hearing Vera’s answer and pretending to ignore the pre-drawn set of runes on her hand, the scrawny humanoid demon continued moving his hands behind his back and looked at his own chest before saying, “But what does this do? I don’t really feel anything. Is it just a decoration spell?”

Vera stared at the scrawny humanoid demon with one of her eyes raised, seemingly offended at what he had just said. “Don’t compare my dear disciple with those spoiled demon kids that just made fancy-looking spells that did nothing.”

“Speaking of which, why don’t you see with your own eyes what it could do!”

The scrawny humanoid demon’s guard rose by several levels when he heard Vera’s last statement, but he kept moving his hands on his back, even faster than before.

And just when he was only a couple of strokes away from finishing the spell that he drew on his back, he heard Vera’s voice once again.

“And whatever you are cooking up behind there, I hope it is a defensive spell.”

Right after closing her mouth, Vera released her hold on the glowing set of runes on her hand. The set of runes was quite a complex one, not as complex as her rune formations that created a fire tornado, but not as simple as a darkness binding spell or a darkness spike spell.

The scrawny humanoid demon was about to ignore Vera’s last advice and threw fire arrows again towards her and a flame pillar right beneath her feet to prevent her from casting the same spell as before, but his rapidly moving hands stopped abruptly just a stroke away from finishing the flame pillar spell when he felt an abundant amount of nether suddenly gathering around him.
