Chapter 196

196 Chapter 196: Even Death can’t hold him

Where am I?

How am I still alive?

Alex opened his eyes a bit and he saw himself in what seemed like a glance cylinder. Apart from his head, his hands were gone and his waste as been severed from his body. Seeing his reflection on the glass cylinder his eyes turned reddened as he noticed he had gone bald from burns wounds and then he had a gaping hole on his chest!

“Mmmm!” Alex tried to scream in horror but he couldn’t. The pain he was filling was nothing close to how heartbroken he was!

He raged on, beating and hitting around directly but then he heard sounds of people coming! Unfortunately, he passed out before he could see anyone.

.............

I was betrayed by those I loved the most...

I was betrayed by the people I was willing to die for....

It was for a good reason, right?

.....

Gosh, my thoughts are so foggy!

Who the hell is trying to bring me back, let me die already

At least my child should be safe.

The culture didn’t come with them, does that mean they didn’t betray me too?

Random thoughts kept invading his head from time to time. Soon Alex became used to the darkness of his mind. The solitude and the peace that comes with it

No one knew how long had passed but he finally opened his eyes after a while to see himself on an operating table. For some reason, he felt different from before, powerless and weak.

Alex struggled to sit up, he felt extremely strange. He had to consciously put in some effort to get his body to do whatever he needs it to do. He gazed at his hands and legs, wondering when and how he regained them.

He could still vividly remember the God sect racing towards him at his weakest moment and a final battle took place which led to him losing all limbs. His eyes remained calm as he shot a glance at the mirror not too far away from his position and frowned.

This isn’t his body.

This was a body of a strange looking kid who is barely eighteen years old. He looked very much human but his body gave off a very strange vibe that strongly made him believe this isn’t a human body. It may look human but the strange tribal markings all over his body were more than enough to make Alex understand this is not human.

He wanted to test out his secret techniques and draw out as much power as he could but he knew it wouldn’t be wise to try it on this body. Especially since his current body looked weak and feeble, then he also felt like his mind wasn’t really connected to his body. He needed to put in conscious effort to get his body to obey his orders.

Alex chose to glance around a bit. His eyes darted around the brightly lit room which gave him a strange feeling. It was filled with equipment he has never seen in his life. While Alex could never claim to be the smartest when it came to technology, he knew quite a lot mingling with someone like Silver. He was sure earth was yet to own something this amazing.

Shhhhhh!

The door slid open and three people walked in. It was an elderly looking man and two ladies by his side. Alex noted that the man had golden hair just like him and they both possessed the same face tattoos which were like a triangular shape within a square just at the corner of their lips then a massive eye-shaped tattoo on their forehead. The man gazed at him strangely and opened his mouth to speak and even though he wasn’t using the human language, Alex could understand him strangely.

“Hello, Champion,” The man said which made Alex frown.

Being referred to as champion meant a lot of this. It quickly portrayed the role he is expected to play here and what they thought of him. It was now he could remember. When he had all his limbs severed, his body fell off the sky and the God sect chased after him, they were going to obliterate his body entirely but then something unexpected occurred.

A ring of light shot out from nowhere racing towards him. He thought it was an attack and shut his eyes while waiting for death. Maybe that’s what brought him here, someone from here brought him over.

“I am no champion... Just a man who should the dead already” Alex said in their language fluently. It was quite strange he could since he didn’t inherit the memories of the owner of this body. He was sure he didn’t reincarnate or anything.

“You were a champion in your past life, you fought the world’s greatest warriors... was betrayed and died, have you forgotten? I saved you” The man said calmly.

“How did you save me?” Alex couldn’t help but ask.

“Brain transplant! Your original body cannot be used anymore.” The man said.

“And so is my power... It’s all gone now... I can barely control this body... You should know I am useless so let me die” Alex said coldly.

In his opinion, he has lived his life, and even though it is short, it was still long enough for him to leave his mark on history. Right now he just didn’t want to deal with it anymore, he just wanted to rest.

With great effort, Alex laid back on the bed with a sigh. He doesn’t know where he is, he doesn’t know what happened after his death, he doesn’t know how long has passed and he is also not allowed to die in peace. He was completely exhausted mentally.

He just didn’t want to struggle anymore.

“You don’t want revenge on those who killed you?” The man asked in a strange tone but Alex didn’t answer.

“Then what about those still fighting in your name. They still carry on the fight in hopes that they achieve your dream of freedom from the Danites. The dream you once carry, they still carry. Are you willing to let it all go?” The man asked with a stern look.

Hearing this Alex frowned. Betrayal from everyone else wouldn’t hurt much but it was Tracy who struck his heart. He wasn’t even sure if little beast is still alive. A lot of things don’t make any more sense to him and he truly believed that death is the best escape from these complications.

“How long has it been?” Alex finally spoke up which brought a smile to the face of the man.

“Roughly ten years” The man said casually which made Alex frown.

To think some sort of resistance would keep fighting for ten years in his name. He was pretty sure the culture is still a part of the resistance. Meanwhile, Little beast...

“Your pet is still alive but it has been returned to the Danite home planet. While it was on earth it refused to form a bond with anyone else, it grieved your loss” The man said.

Alex nodded. He could remember now. He forcefully broke the connection between him and Little beast after a strike to the heart. He didn’t want her dying because of him. Even if he owed nothing else to the world, he owed it to the little demon. As long as it is still alive he had no other obligation but to find it.

“See this in a different way. You once had obligations to so many people but now you owe it to no one” The man said calmly.

“Then what do I owe you?” Alex asked with a raised eyebrow. He refused to believe this man did all of this for free.

“You reside in the body of my dead son, that was my decision so you do not have to pay any price for it. But our future cooperation won’t be as simple as this. You help me and I help you” The man said calmly.

“Why me?” Alex asked with a raised eyebrow.

“It’s not every day you find a man willing to fight his entire world just to protect his belief and freedom. In my book, you are one of the greatest warriors to have ever lived. Having you fight by my side is an honor” The man said with a slight bow.

“If you know me that well then you know I don’t like taking orders” Alex said calmly as he remained on the operation bed. He didn’t even bother to look at the man.

“As I said earlier it will be a cooperation. You will not be forced to do anything but for every task, you accomplish there will be rewards.” The man didn’t seem bothered by Alex’s behavior at all. In his opinion, someone like Alex who has experienced so much and achieved a lot has the right to act cocky.

“Prepare the Serum-C solution. We just won ourselves a powerful ally!” The man said immediately Alex nodded at him.
