Chapter 198

198 Chapter 198: Limitations

With the brief explanation of everything concerning his new life, Alex didn’t bother anymore with unnecessary details and quickly began formulating plans for his life. He spent an entire month in the twelfth elder’s mansion and during that time, every single day was dedicated to practicing his martial techniques but his limitations made it obviously difficult to advance.

During that time he learned all he needed to know about energy revolvers. The energy revolvers simply have the ability to manipulate energy in its raw form which they can use in doing so many things, including interacting with machines.

This world is quite different from the normal one and everything revolves around technology and nothing else. Alex considered these people an advanced form of the Briggs but never paid much attention to their style either.

Using mechas and huge robots in battle may be cool but it makes no sense at all. Strip them of their toys and they are no different from helpless kids to him. He fancied a power that resides within that can be called upon at any time.

With the status of a Baron, he can generate a certain amount of energy but the amount is quite limited. Since he was able to generate his energy, he kept using it in refining his combat techniques. While it was better than the normal It was nowhere as good as the matter absorption method.

The second month passed by and only then did he get to see the twelfth elders again. He packed a few things according to the man’s orders and he followed the man to his vehicle.

Inside what looked like a floating car version of a Limousine, Alex sat with a frown as he gazed outside the window. This city is covered by a powerful barrier and outside the barrier was nothing. A thick grey fog blocked the sight of everyone. Alex understood that this may be the only surviving civilization on this planet. Everything else has been corrupted by the blue meteorites.

“You will be known as Jaric Gale. Son of the twelfth elder, Jalic Gale. This is a five year academic training period. You have everything you need and a means to contact me. Contact me only if it is absolutely necessary” Jalic Gale said calmly.

Alex shook his head in response. As the son of an elder in the council, he should have some influence. Even as a failing elder, Jalic Gale still has a shocking amount of wealth that can cover all his bills. While it didn’t matter much, knowing money won’t be a part of his problem is nice.

.....

But then, spending five years in an academy would be beneficial to his growth but time consuming. Outside that, he couldn’t help but consider the possibility of him losing another five years. Also, the concept of school keeps reminding him of his time in the military academy which pisses him off a lot.

“You don’t want to go to the academy?” Jalic noticed the dull look on Alex’s face and asked.

“You don’t have to worry about anything. For now” Alex said.

He would have asked to stay back and practice but that would even take longer. Jalic has an agreement with him and needs his help. If there were any other means of helping him improve his strength, he was sure the man would have presented it already. So he had no reason to complain

..............

Arriving at the Gene tower, Alex was met by an instructor who led him towards his dorm. Unlike the elders, he wore a black jacket with no shirt and black jeans, and black boots. His dressing style was similar to what people were here but quite unique. It was too shocking he decide to customize his clothes but it still didn’t change the fact this made him stand out.

With the Gale family banner on all his clothes, it was easy for everyone to tell he is the son of the twelve elder who was once said to have no talent.

Alex was first taken to the dormitory where he dropped his things before he was led to the fresher’s hall. His dormitory was no different from his home in the military academy back then. A mansion with a pool and everything anyone can wish for. The resemblance was quite infuriating for him so he didn’t waste any more time there and left quickly.

“Everyone here is a Baron level warrior but unlike you, many have been in this realm for dad longer and have more experience. I advise you don’t cause any trouble, okay? You wouldn’t want the Gale family to lose face in public” The instructor said in a respectful tone.

He seemed to genuinely care for Jaric Gale and was simply trying to look after him, unknown to him this was not the kid he knew, instead, it was someone who has gone through numerous battles in his past life.

“No one in this world can kill me” Alex replied dryly and said nothing else.

His words were extremely cocky and even though the instructor wanted to say something, he noticed the look on Jaric’s face and decided to remain silent.

They soon walked into the hall and she stopped at the entrance. Without hesitation, Alex walked past her and towards the seats where other Barons were seated. Since the person they are waiting for was not yet there, they all chatted happily in groups but Alex’s entrance caught everyone’s attention. Not only was he late but his choice of clothing was no different from a bright beacon, meant to draw everyone’s attention.

Jaric Gale?

The one that sneaked out of the city and got infected?

They said he has zero talent and out of frustration, he snuck out of the city and got infected by the blue death. It’s a miracle he is alive so how did he become a baron?

Yea, I heard my dad talking about it. No one knew how he was able to become a Baron after so many failed attempts. Maybe a near death experience is what he needed for his breakthrough?
