DEVIANT

Chapter 260

Chapter 260

260 The plan

“What?” Alex gasped in shock as his eyes widened and thoughts flashed through his mind. While he knew Silver wasn’t weak, he didn’t think Silver was that strong either.

He had spent a good part of his life with Silver and whenever there was an issue that required strength he was the one that always stepped up. He had been fighting alone believing Silver couldn’t protect himself.

“He said we should tell you, you never asked if you find the news of his strength shocking” Jalic Gale said with his head lowered causing Alex to laugh.

He leaned back and a bright smile bloomed on his face.

“Fucking bastard!” Alex said with a cruel smile on his face.

For some reason, he felt inwardly relieved that Silver didn’t betray him as he had believed but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t pissed that Silver kept his plans hidden even when his life was at stake.

“When next we meet, I can just take a limb or two for the sake of old times” Alex muttered and nodded with a smile.

Right now he wasn’t even thinking of Tracy or anyone else. The only ones who mattered to him the most amongst the Ainsworth family have always been his best friend.

“Why was the information about the invaders kept from me?” Alex pushed his crazed thoughts aside and returned his attention to Jalic Gale and the other elders. He knew these people meant well but that didn’t mean he wasn’t a bit pissed by the fact that they let this information linger for too long without bothering to alert him or the other humans on his side.

.....

“We... We had to wait till our preparations were done. We didn’t want you to drag unprepared Estosians into this war so we hoped to keep it a secret until we were ready” Jalic Gale said with his face lowered.

Hearing this, Alex was going to argue but then he thought about it. Whenever there has always been a problem he would just go directly and deal with it. He could do this because he was strong but the same can’t be said for others.

Their concerns were based on his previous actions so he couldn’t blame them completely. With no other choice, Alex sighed and adjusted his seating position before speaking.

“You have my word, you people will not be dragged into this until they are ready.... What would you have me do now? And don’t say nothing is wrong. I can see the concern in your eyes” Alex said calmly.

His words left the elders dumbfounded since they never expected Alex to be the type to say things like this. They shot each other a questioning glance before returning their attention to Alex.

“We need you to deal with something for us! The alliance carrier spacecraft which left didn’t actually leave. They are just hovering over our planet while they wait for reinforcements. It seems they have made up their mind to take this planet” Jalic Gale explained hastily.

“And you want me to deal with them?” Alex asked with a cruel smile.

“Yes!” Elder Tyron stood up abruptly but then he realized his mistake and his face flushed red with embarrassment.

“We can assign a squad of seed pilots if you need their assistance. Anything, please!” Elder Tyron said as he fell to his knees.

Just like him, the other elders fell on their knees as well but even then Alex’s facial expression remained as rigid as ever. His eyes revealed a hint of surprise but the elders didn’t notice.

He understood what has been happening since he was away. With such a threat lingering over their heads, they were worried but they didn’t dare approach Alex since they wanted to keep the invaders’ issue a secret! This issue has been on their mind for a long time and now seeing an opportunity to resolve it, they couldn’t help but react this way.

“That won’t be necessary... I alone am more than enough” Alex shook his head in refusal.

Seeds can be considered a major asset which can change the tide of battle in space so many people would love to get their hands on them. But the alliance is no pushover, taking people along with him will only slow him down for now, especially since he strongly believes he will be able to deal with the issue alone.

Thud!

Alex stood up with a calm look on his face as he gazed outside the glass wall. This invaders issue is not something he could ignore. He only felt a bit more relieved that the human forces were under Silver’s care. Even though they have their differences, he couldn’t deny the young lad is probably the most capable person he knows.

“The life of my child is in your hands... don’t mess up bro, or I may still have to kill you when we meet” Alex said with a heavy sigh as his thoughts kept running wild.

His cold gaze shifted to those behind him and after a few seconds of silence, he asked a question.

“Do you know his plans? Or did he give any instructions for me?” Alex asked.

Since his son’s life was at stake, he wouldn’t hesitate to work with the Danites. In fact, he was more than willing to fight side by side with the God sect, if it guaranteed the safety of his loved ones.

“Right now the invaders are moving into the territory of the alliance... Silver Ainsworth, asked you not to interfere and let the alliance hold back the enemy for now. He also requested that you start conquering planets and acquiring their resources and forces. The seeds need to be mass-produced and we need to gather as much power as we can...” Jalic Gale said and Alex nodded in agreement.

While Silver’s request may sound strange it was the same thing Alex had in mind. Using the great alliance as a shield, they can gather as many forces and resources as possible to make the final stand together. They may be sacrificing the alliance and the numerous races under their command but it couldn’t be helped. They were sacrificing a small portion of the universe to save the entire universe!
