Chapter 265

Chapter 265

265 A costly mistake!

“Kill Him Now!!!” Kyle growled like an injured beast and the soldier standing in front of Alex frowned.

Bang!

A blade stabbed through Alex’s chest, piercing deep into his heart. The action was so abrupt he never expected it, and neither did Kyle but what kind of blade would be able to pierce the skin of this human?

“Book!” Kyle turned deadly pale as fear gripped him. His eyes were pinned on the energy blade lodged into Alex’s chest, surging into his body.

He wanted to give these soldiers a chance to self-detonate to improve his image in their eyes as to prevent any form of revolution but he soon realized this was the greatest mistake in his life.

One moment of hesitance would cost him his life and everything he has ever dreamt of!

Meanwhile, Alex was gazing at the soldiers with an eye filled with shock. He had prepared his mind for death but this happened instead. While he got stabbed, he greedily began absorbing the power core of the lightsaber used to stab him.

“Why are you looking at us that way? Or do you think you are the only ones allowed to make sacrifices?” The soldier asked as he took a few steps back. His eyes seemed to betray his thoughts, revealing the sadness in his heart as he and the other soldiers began backing away.

“We are dead regardless of what we do and it would be selfish of us to risk the lives of other races and families by killing the only person who can save them just to save ours... I apologize but that’s all we could get our hands on. The rest is up to you now!” The soldier said as he and the rest fell on their knees, pulling out a dagger and driving it into their chests!

.....

Alex was shaken by this and was even more shaken by the fact that he wasn’t given a chance to thank these people. All his life, he has always been the one making sacrifices in order to protect everyone. He was prepared to protect earth against the Danites back then but the people he wished to protect turned their backs on him and killed him.

Maybe that was why he was insistent on working alone!

He soon realized how dumb he was. He had the culture and other survivors of the resistance but he never took them along with him when dealing with things. His mind was scared so badly he stopped believing in people!

He stopped having expectations so that disappointments will not exist.

“This world will benefit from your sacrifice! I swear it!” Alex said as his eyes felt watery.

His countless layers of mental fortitude were broken with just one act of kindness!

But unlike him, Kyle wore a grim expression on his face as he gazed at the screen, completely dumbstruck!

He had come so close to killing the most powerful man of this generation and yet, he failed just at the last moment!

Where did he go wrong?

“Kill!” Kyle growled as he slammed a button and almost instantly, the bodies of the soldiers began to swell, preparing to explode!

As far as he is concerned. Someone like Alex had a limit to what they can do even in a condition like this. Whatever energy Alex can gain from one lightsaber will not be enough to give him even one-quarter of his strength!

“KYLE!!!!” Alex growled furiously as his eyes revealed fierce white light!

Booom!

Booom!

Booom!

Fierce explosions rocked the room making the barriers surrounding the walls of the room, preventing it from damaging the spacecraft itself!

Swoosh!

The dust settled and Alex could be seen seated on the floor but a massive robotic arm covered him, shielding him from the attack!

Damnation!

The eyes of his seed flashed and a cruel smile bloomed on Alex’s face.

“You gave me a chance to make things right.... I will make these bastards pay the price for toying with the lives of great men like you!” Alex said as he laid down weakly and allowed Damnation to lift him before shooting forward!

Just as Kyle suspected, the energy core from the lightsaber can only do so much for Alex. It wasn’t even enough for him to heal his wounds. Right now he reserved all that energy for piloting Damnation remotely.

Before he was too weak to sense the location of the ship’s power core but that was not the case anymore.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Damnation flew forward with all its might, smashing through the walls of the massive carrier spaceship, racing towards the location of the spacecraft’s energy core!

“STOP HIM! GATHER ALL OUR FORCES, ALL OUR WARSHIPS, STOP HIM SOMEHOW!” Kyle bellowed with a face as pale as a sheet of paper.

He felt incredible fear as he watched Damnation bulldozing through all obstacles on its way as it raced towards the power core.

Without being told, Kyle already knew if Alex reaches the power core the fight is as good as over.

Seeing Kyle act this way the other two representatives were terrified as well. If someone like Kyle who they feared and respected was this anxious, what are they meant to feel?

Without hesitation, they all raced out of the room with anxious looks on their faces. If they fail now, they shouldn’t even dream about surviving this attack from Alex Briggs!

“HAHAHAHAHA! You will pay for the deadly sin of toying with the lives of the innocent! I, Alex Briggs will serve as the judge and executioner! None of you will escape death!” Alex laughed like a madman as he struggled to stand on his feet.

His sharp gaze cut through the air and fell on the numerous battleships chasing after him!

The carrier ship could carry thousands of battleships, so it wasn’t too shocking that this place can serve as a proper battlefield for these people.

But of course, this would have only been a problem if Alex cared about what happened to the ship. Destroying it has always been his goal in the first place!
