Chapter 357 - 357 Demerits of a False God
357 Demerits of a False God
Alex couldn’t believe such a stupid rule would exist. He had a feeling he would come across more of these rules even far more absurd by that time. But what did they mean by one must pray for him to manifest his power?
Does that mean if he doesn’t have believers constantly praying to him then he would never be able to use his powers? But then again, has he ever prayed?
Alex couldn’t remember ever praying to any God but thinking about it now, why should he?
He survived through his strength!
He struggled to get to where he is!
He died twice to make it here!
Everything so far has been made possible because of his sacrifices.
He fought and bled to be here so if there is someone he should ever pray to. It should be himself!
Bang!
.....
The fluffy demon lunged forward but Alex did not move. He shut his eyes and visualized his memories of himself using his abilities in the past. He let the feeling through him as he raised his hand to the incoming fluffy demon and his eyes revealed a fierce flash.
Alex Briggs doesn’t belong to this era
The God of death and destruction
Wielder of the black flame and chaos power.
Lend me thy strength!
Boom!
An invisible force exploded from Alex’s body in the form of a shockwave sending the beast spiraling back!
Woosh!
Alex stood at the center of the chaos with an indifferent look on his face.
“In my past life, I was God. In this life, nothing has changed!” Alex said with confidence as he walked toward the fallen beast at a steady pace.
Seeing Alex like this Xinxiu was stunned and looked at him with a stunned expression. In this world, there are two types of gods. There are defects and then the deities.
Normally, defects like her are people who did great things in their past lives but lacked the strength to back them up. The roles they played when they were still mortals were important enough to help them transcend to this world but their lack of strength cut short their ambitions and prevented them from awakening properly. The truth remains that they were the support types of this world.
The useless ones.
Seeing someone with a fierce offensive ability left her stunned. Those with support-type abilities here were most likely support types in their past world who lacked the strength to evolve successfully. But someone like Alex was definitely a fighter and a powerful one at that.
How did he fail to evolve properly?
Was he defeated?
No!
A defeated man cannot make it into this realm. The only option is that he lacked the will to evolve and nothing else. If someone as powerful as this wanted to use the power of his universe to fuel his evolution, no one would have been able to stop him.
So he failed on purpose?
Xinxu was stunned. The fighters were usually dominators who refuse the bend a knee to achieve their goals. They won’t stop for anyone and they will always reach for the skies. These people believe in the laws of the jungle and only with that kind of mindset can they reach the top.
That’s why there has never been a defective fighter-type God.
Alex is the first!
Thud!
Thud!
Alex was oblivious to the countless thoughts pledging Xinxiu’s mind.
Black Flame Power: Heaven shielding armor!
Alex felt his power swell as he called upon the strength of the black flame core. His body was quickly covered by black exoskeleton armor, giving Alex a futuristic soldier vibe.
“This power…. I can feel all of it. Far different from before!” Alex muttered to himself, ignoring the world around him.
Swoosh!
Alex’s hands lit up with black flames and he shot forward like a missile towards the fluffy best and with his open palm, he slashed forward like a blade!
Kill!
Everything in Alex’s path was instantly split in two and the fierce black flames reduced everything to ashes as well, all in an instant.
Soon the fluffy tyrant was nothing but mere ashes.
“At least my powers still work the same,” Alex said with an indifferent look on his face.
His cold gaze fell on the pile of ashes ahead. He used his gravity manipulation to pull something out of the ashes and it looked like a colorful orb.
A beast core?
Alex was stunned as he could feel the energy stored within it. It felt exactly like a beast’s core and for some reason he felt he could absorb its power.
Buzz!
Suddenly Alex’s eyes twitched with pain as the hole in his chest started bleeding black blood and he coughed up a mouthful of blood as he fell to his knees.
What the hell?
“We are defects that failed to evolve properly. Using our divinities in such a damaged Body is not something that should happen.” Xinxiu lingered around Alex’s kneeling body with curious eyes.
She looked at him as if she had seen a gold mine and this made Alex strangely uncomfortable but he didn’t bother with her. He sat in a cross-legged position after which he began absorbing the power within the gem.
Xinxiu’s eyes widened with shock as they looked in that particular direction. She could see streams of energy surging into Alex’s body and all the wounds on his body slowly began to heal. After a few seconds, Alex looked at the gem which had lost its glow. Using this was barely enough to heal his wounds and as for improving his strength he almost didn’t feel anything.
Almost!
“No, it works… the problem is it would require a far larger amount of energy to push myself above the levels… it may be stressful but it is still an advantage I have over other people,” Alex said with a stern look on his face.
“Hey, Alex… you have three divinities right? What the hell were you in your past life to grant you so many awesome divinities?” Xinxiu screamed.
