Chapter 866  The Disgrace...

And then the image changed again. This time around, Everbee stood in front of a demon. This demon wore white armour and the proud symbol of the Asmodeus family was on his chest. However, his face was shrouded in a dark mist that oozed from his head. No matter how hard lenny tried to see beyond the mist, it was just not possible. The only thing that he could see where two deep red eyes.

However, the kind of power that oozed from his body was one that made Everbee's cells stand at attention in his presence.

Instinctively or as a result of the memories, lenny knew that this man was one the one known as Kudus. the same person that Crystabel had instructed the guard to take Everbee to.

This room was dark and gave one the impression that it was just the two of them. Within the memory, Lenny could clearly feel Everbee's exhaustion. She had gone through intense training to reach the stage she had reached, and had defeated many foes in her many years.

However, there was one thing that she could not just do. Kudus waved his hands and a pillar with runic symbols appeared. "The Arcane Pillar is the peak of our Bloodline ability. Only one that has consecrated and perverted the nature of his enemy in his mind can fully bend and will this ability.... AGAIN!" he screamed. Young Everbee struggled, her attempts to conjure the formidable pillar weapon of their esteemed Asmodeus lineage faltering with each try.

Kudus, this figure of enigmatic power and presence within the royal demon family, watched on. His face, forever obscured by a veil of smoke that seemed to emanate from the very essence of his being, betrayed no emotion, yet his attention was intensely focused on Everbee's efforts. The red lightning she summoned flickered and danced around her hands, a vivid display of her burgeoning, yet unmastered power, but each time it failed to materialize the coveted pillar.

Finally, frustration and the bitter taste of failure brought Everbee to the brink of surrender. Her body slumped, and the vibrant red lightning fizzled out, leaving a heavy silence between master and apprentice. It was in this moment of defeat that Kudus chose to impart a lesson that would echo through the annals of her memory for eternity.

"Everbee," Kudus's voice emerged from within the smoke, resonating with a depth that seemed to reach beyond the physical realm, "In the pursuit of power, the first battle is waged not with enemies, but within oneself. Your red lightning is potent, fierce, and unyielding, much like your spirit. Yet, it is unrefined, untamed—a wild storm that knows no direction."

He paused, allowing his words to permeate the thick air of despondency that enveloped Everbee. The smoke around his face swirled more intensely, as if punctuating his next words with the weight of centuries of wisdom.

"The pillar you seek to conjure is not merely a weapon; it is a legacy, a testament to the might and resolve of our lineage. It cannot be summoned through sheer force or desire alone. It requires discipline, an understanding of one's inner turmoil, and the ability to harness the chaos within. I know you hurt from the pain of losing your mother.

We are not a family of cowards, and the facts remain. If she was strong enough and truly worthy of our bloodline, she would have been victorious. However, she was weak and deserved what she got."

As he said these words, young Everbee gritted her teeth in anger. she hated those words more than anything in her life, and she had heard them again and again by all around her. It was for this reason that she worked tirelessly with all her might in both the studies of the mind and battle. After all, she was the child of the ninth concubine. she was practically considered to be useless, and had to prove herself to be above it all. Although she had grown to be quite brilliant, especially when it came to Lust and blood magic, she always found herself lacking in the case of battles.

The Asmodeus family was not as brutal as the Abbadon family, but was there really a demon family that was not brutal? The ever growing hunger for power was the drive that propelled the families and the Asmodeus family was no difference. Kudus stepped forward, the smoke trailing behind him like the shadows of forgotten ancestors, "The power of the Asmodeus family does not lie solely in our ability to dominate and conquer. It resides in our capacity to control, to shape the very essence of pain and pleasure into our will. It is for this reason that we are the family of Pain and pleasure, Blood and Lust."

Everbee looked up, her eyes a mirror of the turbulent emotions within. Kudus, sensing the flicker of resolve reigniting in her soul, continued, "Your failure today is not a mark of weakness, Everbee. It is the foundation upon which your strength will be built. Each attempt, each fall, is a step closer to mastering the chaos. Do not fear failure, for it is through failure that we are sculpted into instruments of formidable power."

With a gesture of his hand, Kudus summoned yet another pillar, effortlessly, as if drawing it forth from the very air itself. The pillar stood before them, a monolith of their family's enduring legacy, "The pillar will come to you when you are ready, when you have learned to wield your inner storm with precision and intent. Until then, you will be removed from battle and fully be intergrated into the Judas project.

I heard that the eighth concubine of our lord as similarly created a disgrace in battle. Fortunately, his mind is like yours, and he excels in a different form of strength. Kudus waved his hand, and from the shadows walked Cuban. "both of you shall find a way to bring pride to our Asmodeus family."

Everbee turned to Cuban. He looked to be a teenager, however, even though Kudus had introduced him as a disgrace, his eyes spoke a different kind of truth.

Instinctively,  she did not like him
