Chapter 460 “The Fiancé that Came Out of Nowhere”
Seemingly able to smell the thick level of “cheating” flavor here, Yan Jiu suddenly had the terrible feeling that he shouldn’t have brought the girl over to deal with this lad.
“Bo Qing, first listen to my explanation. The matter isn’t as you think it is.” Sadly Ling Yue didn’t even have time to speak any further before the angry boy made pushed her behind himself in a shielding manner.
That look, that behavior, it’s the same as a dog that just managed to retrieve his beloved bone and very much wanted to hide it from the prowling thieves.
“You over there, the whatever City Lord of this place. Go back and tell your superior, that whatever Wu Chomegigi, that Red Thirteen is under my protection. So long as I am around then he can forget about harming him!”
Protect him and prevent anyone from hurting his Thirteen, these were the only thoughts madly running through his heart and soul.
“Young Lord, before you say those words, shouldn’t you at least ask your old man the Lord of the Heartless Sect first?” Spreading his hands out, Yin Jiu appears quite helpless against that unreasonable demeanor.
“Bo Qing, you little rabbit! How many times did I tell you not to make trouble outside?” The rumbling and majestic, that voice was awfully similar to the lad’s.
In response, the boy that could remain unfazed even in the most dangerous of situations was actually trembling for a second there. And as if that wasn’t astonishing enough, Bo Qing actually made a dash for it with Ling Yue in his arms right after realizing who has come.
Sadly, no matter how slippery fast his speed was, he could never outrun that humongous hand in the sky that had suddenly materialized out of the light.
Like a chickling being plucked from the ground, Bo Qing’s figure were soon sucked from his location and into the air.
Now Ling Yue finally understood why Yin Jiu would push the matter outside of the Underground City. It’s because Bo Qing’s background was simply too special that not even he would want to cross the Lord of the Heartless Sect so carelessly.
“City Lord Yin Jiu, apologies for the offence. When I and my wife comes out of closed door training, we will be sure to come in person to compensate you.”
“That is being too polite there. I will be sure to add in the interest when you do so.” Smooth in his words, Yin Jiu easily replies to that voice without even batting an eyelash.
As for the giant golden hand in the sky, it definitely stagnated for a second there when it heard what the smiling tiger said. To react in that fashion, it’s kind of obvious there hasn’t been anyone daring enough to speak to the Lord of the Heartless in that manner for many years.
“Thirteen, you wait for me! You must wait for me!” The hand and the boy were soon out of view, followed by a ringing echo that was distinctly hair raising like someone just got a major disciplining slap across their butt.
Coughing a few times to sooth the weird situation, Yin Jiu then turns his attention back to his main concern: “Miss Ling Yue, you are still hurt so why don’t we return to my residence first. I believe it will only be a few days before the one delivering the medicine arrives.”
Knowing the suggestion was for the best, Ling Yue could only task the old monster to inform Prince Hou Qi on what’s happened thus far while she stayed behind during this recovery period.
A few days later.
Somewhere over at North Qing’s Phoenix Manor, Feng Shen was currently holding a letter with only a brief message written inside. However, it was precisely this short message that managed to cause this perennially calm lad to go white on the face.
“Ye Ling Yue is seriously injured and is in urgent need of the Nirvana Heart Lotus.” Signed by only the name Yin Jiu at the very bottom.
Crumpling up the letter in his hand, Feng Shen uncharacteristically gnashes his teeth like he’s exceptionally annoyed, Damn you Yin Jiu!
Although he has known for a while now that Ling Yue was operating in the Northwestern Plains, he in fact never expected her to suffer such an incredible level of injury where the Nirvana Heart Lotus would be required. And of all the places that has to occur, it has to be the Underground City #9 too!
Unbeknownst to Ling Yue herself, Yin Jiu actually kept a major secret from her, hence the part about it being urgent within the letter. It’s true that they have the means to heal her burnt skin but that’s only under the condition that they do that within one month. Otherwise, she would be forever scarred in her current disfigured form!
Naturally the discretionary words in the letter wouldn’t get past Feng Shen’s sharp careful eyes though. He’s a medicine pot in and out, there’s no way he would not be familiar with the uses of that miraculous lotus flower.
Nirvana Heart Lotus, an eighth grade flower capable of healing vast patches of skin on a person. Not only was the flowering period over a century long, the conditions required for it to grow was also very strict.
A spring of fire and ice, that’s the most important factor in cultivating such a plant. But such a rare natural wonder won’t be so easily found in this world. From what he knew, there’s only three places in existence that could produce such a flower. Luckily one of them was within the Dan Palace in North Qing!
“Teacher, prepare the carriage for me, I want to go to the Dan Palace.”
“Are you unwell somewhere, is that why Young Lord you are so urgent in seeking out Master Hong Ru?” Mr. Mu hurriedly asked.
“No, I am going to see the Sacred Maiden.”
North Qing’s Dan Palace was also known as the gathering hub of the alchemist profession within this kingdom. Though it’s not quite as lavishing as the real palace of this nation, but it’s no exaggeration to say its superior to anything those small kingdoms can dish out. And as a regular of this grandiose structure, not a single soul would dare block Feng Shen’s path today, thus making his visit smooth and unhindered.
“So it’s Your Highness, please wait a minute. The lowly I will go inform the Sacred Maiden immediately,” says the receiving female alchemist.
Within the boundaries of the Dan Palace, there are two exceptionally distinguished figures. The first would of course be Chen Hong Ru, the number one senior alchemist of North Qing. The second would be this so called Sacred Maiden, also known as Xue Pian Ran by her given name.
Before long, the halls of this majestic structure were soon greeted by the ear catching sound of jades jiggling against each other, followed quickly by the stunning figure of a snow white beauty that gave off an almost surreal light that was both soft and warming to the eye.
This was Xue Pian Ran, the Sacred Maiden of the Dan Palace. Due to their similar, this prized and highly worshipped maiden was the childhood friend of Feng Shen and current fiancé of the lad.
Though the boy himself never openly agreed to the marriage proposal, but it’s the arrangement of the King of North Qing. Therefore, it’s already a given in the public’s eye that they would be wed on their eighteenth birthday.
“Feng Shen, you have finally come to see me.” When greeting her future husband, there’s a distinct spark of glee in her eyes that was only overshadowed by the flawless smile forever so pronounced in that stunning face.
