Chapter 2727 Stark Difference
Chapter 2727 Stark Difference
"Brother, can you please stop addressing me that? I'm no one's warrior but a member of the Loret Family."
"Haha. Alright, alright..."
Davis chuckled, thinking that his enunciation of those words finally got to her head. He was doing it to ease the changes she would experience mentally, so even if she became aggressive, he was willing to let her blame it on being a heaven's warrior, but it looked as though she wanted to take accountability, making him feel heartened.
Clara's smile receded as she turned to look up at the skies, taking a deep breath of fresh air of dense heaven and earth energy before she made the final move on her bottleneck.
There was an internal sound of something breaking before her energy began to surge drastically.
*Rumble!~*
Dark clouds began to emerge in the skies. It was a recurrence of the many immortal tribulations seen in the Aurora Cloud Gate multiple times, almost daily, as there were millions of immortals, and each one of them underwent immortal tribulation in nine thousand years.
There were also other aspects that brought down heavenly tribulation, like the likes of an immortal child being born or magical beasts undergoing their minor stage tribulations, or the basic aspect of a mortal breaking through to become an immortal. All this made the entire Aurora Cloud Gate shrouded by heavenly tribulations almost every day, so it wasn't a new scene.
A few members from the Reaper Soul Legion came to investigate what it was, but that was it. As soon as they found their Legion Master, they went back to patrolling the island faithfully.
There was indeed nothing to see or gawk at as Clara's immortal tribulation seemed no different than theirs. Dark tribulation clouds descended, gleaming with a majestic glow as the island around them darkened.
For Davis, who saw this scene, he couldn't be even bothered to blink at it as it was unworthy of his gaze, but his heart couldn't help but churn with worry.
As far as he knew, Clara achieved the possible limit she could achieve in the mortal realm, able to battle against immortals like him and a few others from his family. It was clear her immortal tribulation was going to be powerful, but the pressure it displayed... was not much, making him fear the rumors about her Transcendent Truth Eyes being heavens favored was true.
He hoped that it was false and that they were all making a mountain out of a molehill, but the more he saw how the tribulation spanned out, reaching out its aura as though enshrouding and consoling instead of being staring down like an absolute ruler, the more he feared the consequences.
"Schleya, I want you to watch a few people."
Suddenly, Davis's voice resounded in Schleya's mind, causing her narrow her eyes, but she didn't turn to look at him.
"Who?"
"Well, for one, watch my little sister."
"..." This time, Schleya couldn't hide her shock as she turned to look at him.
His expression was calm and composed, still gazing at Clara's immortal tribulation gathering heavenly lightning, making him appear that he was not kidding at all.
"If she ever acts strange, like displaying aggressiveness, then instantly seal her cultivation."
He added, causing her gaze to flicker, "Are you serious?"
The Davis she knew would never harm his loved ones, much less tell someone to watch them behind their backs. However, she knew that something was wrong with Clara for them all to be extra caring towards her, but what it was wasn't her concern, so she didn't listen much but just knew the gist of it.
But now, she was starting to think that this matter of why Clara's immortal tribulation was delayed was truly grave.
"Do you think I was kidding when I said what I said before?" Davis's lips curled with disdain at himself.
"Don't worry. The consequences of that will be borne by yours truly. On the other hand, you will have to just monitor the ones I told you to and react in case of contingencies."
"Then I will obey." Schleya nodded.
Certainly, she felt that Davis came to the right person to ask of this as she possessed sealing arts. Evelynn also had sealing arts but considering their relationship as in-laws, she knew that giving this 'errand' to her was the best way to maintain unity amongst the family.
"If you feel like I'm using you, then feel free to decline."
"Well, feel free to use me. I'm obliged and glad to be able to help you."
"..."
Glancing at Schleya shrugging gently and folding her hands again, Davis didn't know what to say other than asking if she didn't know another way to live other than killing or serving someone. However, he refocused his gaze on Clara's immortal tribulation, seeing the lightning gathered underneath the clouds suddenly light up the area and fall.
*Bang!~*
It struck Clara, causing lightning to flash around her as she didn't even dodge or block, taking a direct hit.
Davis's eyes narrowed, but he saw that Clara didn't even flinch. Instead, she raised her palm to look at it, seemingly focused on sensing the ongoing changes in her body.
'Oye... was that supposed to even test her? Isn't it more like it's healing and helping her instead?'
Davis blinked, his heart clenching.
"Despite my warning, you went ahead with your little sister's immortal tribulation? It's likely you're going to experience heart-wrenching pain soon."
"..."
Suddenly, a white-robed figure appeared towards his right, gazing at Clara's immortal tribulation as her voice serenely echoed out.
"Oh, welcome back, Myria." Davis's lips twitched, "I didn't expect you to recover soon."
"That was nothing."
Myria lightly shook her head and brushed her white hair against the heavy winds from the pressure emanated by the immortal tribulation.
"And Schleya, watch her too." Davis suddenly spoke as he pointed at Myria with his thumb, "She will try to escape in an attempt to not endanger us, so if she ever disappears without saying anything to others, immediately inform me."
"..." Schleya became speechless.
There was no need to say that right beside Myria, right?
But contrary to her expectation, Myria didn't even react to those words, still calmly gazing at Clara's tribulation.
Before anything crazy could happen, the nine strikes fell, and Clara's immortal tribulation came to an end. From start to end, Clara made no move, letting all the lightning strikes hit her body. Heck, she even sat and began practicing cultivation as she circulated her energy calmly and smoothly.
*Bzzz!~*
A majestic aura radiated around Clara, one that sought respect and spread an imposing will.
Davis knew that it was her physique's aura, the Transcendent Truth Eyes, that was not only able to see through the truth but also control people through the usage of Mandate Laws.
Halfway through, Schleya was truly taken aback before she was finally shaken.
How can a person be treated with such favor by the heavens? However, she turned to look at Davis, wondering how opposite they could be in experiencing their tribulations as one was completely destructive and the other was practically harmless.
Nonetheless, Davis kept his gaze on Clara the whole time, his eyes wanting to notice any exorbitant changes.
After a while, Clara stood up, her blonde hair gently flailing in the wind as she turned to look at them, a cold gleam emerging in her purple eyes.
"..."
