Chapter 3844 Gloomstruck?

Chapter 3844 Gloomstruck?

Chapter 3844  Gloomstruck?

Shortly after reuniting with Founder Zenflame's party of six, they all boarded the flying ship and left the pirate town.

They obtained what they needed to obtain, so it would not be wise to stay in the pirate town, especially when there was already an incident that almost exposed Founder Alstreim and the others.

Isabella was overjoyed to see Crystia.

To her surprise, she apparently got pregnant with Noctis's child! Although the time couldn't be any worse, she still congratulated the two of them.

However, it was just the opposite for Hirona and Sierra.

The two of them were extremely quiet ever since they boarded, so she couldn't help but ask what happened.

Apparently, their husbands had died millions of years ago, so they were now widows. Somewhere in their hearts, they thought that their husbands were in the Zenflame Family in the Seven-Colored Phoenix Upper Realm, but it seemed like that wasn't the case since they were killed by the Zenflame Family themselves.

This happened when the Zenflame Family was still subservient to the Auraflame Clan while being secretly defiant.

"My descendants really were misled by Reselius Zenflame. Most likely, their husbands tried to correct the way of the Zenflame Family when they noticed the blaring change but got killed for it. I have no way to protect those lousy descendants anymore, nor do I want to protect them."

Founder Zenflame shook his head. He heaved a heavy sigh, one that was full of lament.

He really should've killed his second son, Reselius Zenflame, when he had the chance, but he was soft and let him live a life of imprisonment, which later led to this kind of wicked revolution within the family.

"…"

Shirley didn't know what to say.

She hated the Zenflame Family to the core. That went without saying, so the fury she felt at them was enough to lay waste to their entire family. However, Sierra and Hirona had lost their husbands. To them, it wasn't more than a year from the time they bid farewell to their husbands.

It was even more of a tragedy than what happened to her. She couldn't imagine the pain they were feeling right now.

However, it seems like they already cried out their hearts a few days ago and are now no more than husks traveling the world to survive and know the full extent of the truth.

The Auraflame Clan's records may state that their husbands have died, but it was unknown if all of it was the truth. They hoped their husbands were still alive, but they couldn't find any method of transmission their husbands would've left for them, which made their hearts bleed and their vision bleak.

"…"

Davis blinked.

It was a mess in their group.

Shirley walked away and talked to Sierra for a few seconds. It didn't take long for the other party to break down and silently cry on Shirley's shoulders. Seeing them, Hirona also couldn't take it any more and silently cried as she buried her face in her palms.

Shirley brought Sierra and Hirona together as she comforted them, looking like she was going to cry herself.

Looking at them, Davis had to admit Shirley had a knack for breaking down the defenses of other women. She was charismatic and allowed Sierra and Hirona to cry on her shoulders without making them put up much of a defense.

However, he felt a bit sad, as that could be his own wives in the future lamenting his death or their sister's death. His eyes shone with a determination not to invite a similar scenario.

"What about you? I'm sure you had many wives as well."

Founder Zenflame's lips curled, "Well, they apparently died during the coup the Zenflame Family started to oust the Auraflame Clan. It was said that some survived, but chances are that they have remarried under the threat of death or their own will."

"…" Davis's gaze flickered, "It's obvious you're looking to flatten the current Zenflame Family, so much so that you're oozing bloodlust while talking about your descendants, but what are you going to do about your wives who are still alive? What are you going to do if you ever see them again?"

"…"

Founder Zenflame looked at Davis. The question was too personal, but he chuckled, humoring him.

"Nothing. I've been gone for a few million years already, so I don't deserve them, nor do they have any responsibility to wait for me so long. I barely knew them for a hundred years, so I could only imagine how they must have suffered waiting for me millions of years before they moved on."

He looked down, his voice shuddering.

Davis didn't say anything.

Although Founder Zenflame's words were apt and reasonable, the heart didn't accommodate such logic. To Founder Zenflame, it was merely a few years since he had last seen his wives.

How could he easily forget them? How could he forgive their infidelity if that happened? How could he forgive himself for letting them go through huge turmoil while he was sleeping?

There was no right answer to those questions.

Davis didn't ask anymore.

He turned to look at Founder Rocksunder and wondered what went on with him.

After all, unlike the traitorous Zenflame Family, the Rocksunder Family might still be thriving as a branch family under the main branch of the Earth Dragon Clan.

"He got to see his wives. They're all living under the small Rocksunder branch, not forgetting about him. My daughter is still alive and appears to be still faithful to him, but to not endanger them, he left without talking to them." Founder Zenflame uttered, a smile finally appearing on his expression as he remembered his daughter.

Davis returned his gaze, sighing lightly, "Even if not righteous, it seems like the Earth Dragon Clan is blessed with reasonable and protective people at the very least."

"Haha, how I wish I had them for descendants instead of-"

Founder Zenflame wanted to curse, but he stopped, thinking it was no one's fault other than his for letting Reselius Zenflame live. That unfilial son of his hadn't indoctrinated the Zenflame Family with wicked values. There was no changing that.

Davis kept quiet for some time.

He was thinking about a lot of things, wondering if Founder Zenflame just wanted to hide and cleanse the Zenflame Family. If it were the latter, he would certainly be willing to help, as his revenge against the Zenflame Family wasn't over yet.

It was set in stone that Killian Zenflame's father, Kerez Zenflame, who was theorized to be a Seven-Colored Phoenix, would try to enact revenge upon him given the chance.

Reselius Zenflame was one of the most devious and cunning opponents he had fought. The damned bird had put on an act and escaped death at least two times in front of him. That was a commendable feat, so for Reselius Zenflame to acknowledge Kerez Zenflame as a true successor, Davis could only imagine what kind of headache Kerez Zenflame would be in the future.

Nonetheless, he wasn't looking to make use of Founder Zenflame and Founder Rocksunder. It was fine as long as they didn't cause trouble. However, what he was looking for was important, so he couldn't throw it on another date just because it might seem rude.

"Founder Zenflame, I assume you still have the Gilded Realm Ascendant Pills. How many do you have left?"

"…"
