Chapter 3985  Danger Zones In the Hydra Lower Realm

Naturally, Davis didn't just ask for the danger zones and unresolved anomalies. He asked for various sources of treasures. He had a lot of wealth to spend, and even if not, the additional loot from Autarch Taiwu's treasury covered him. He went on an information spree, buying as much as he wanted.

He was disguised as one of the soul essences he absorbed, not really worthy of mention.

But he guessed he appeared like a black-robed man with a pale countenance. His undulations were at Level Nine Immortal Emperor Stage, at a perfect level where one would not be easily bullied but also not given as much attention as an Empyrean or a Sovereign.

After waiting for some time, Davis received the information for a hundred thousand Transcendent Crystals. It was rather cheap, in his opinion, but these places seemed to be quite well known as myths except for a few that were rather recently formed— recent meaning within the past million years.

The Danger Zones numbered as many as twenty, but Davis narrowed them down to seven danger zones, depending on the difficulty and what he was looking for. Among them, there were four unresolved anomalies in four of the seven danger zones, which he felt could accommodate his plans.

First was the Voidshade Chasm.

It was located at the edge of the Three-Headed Hydra Lower Realm, a cave heading into a vast, bottomless abyss where light is consumed within the swirling shadows. Rumors are that there are mysterious entities lurking within the Autarch Grade, and if someone falls in, they would be rarely seen again. There was also an unresolved anomaly here called the Whispering Rift.

It was a massive tear in the fabric of space within the darkness. Dark energy apparently seeps from the rift, and the Autarchs crave that particular energy to gain more insights into Darkness Laws. However, it was said that those who approach it often go insane from the maddening whispers.

It is also said no one has been able to close the rift or explore what lies beyond, as the one who goes there wouldn't be able to come back even if they were an Autarch.

Reading this, Davis almost felt like it could be an entrance to the Nether Dimension or some other otherworldly place. It was better left unexplored if even a Level Five Autarch couldn't make it back alive.

The next one was the Demon Doomheart Forest.

It is a giant forest with a density that would make one get lost within and never return. It is said a lot of powerful demon trees live there, not to mention that its air is tainted with a certain type of curse or hex, making any traveler's thoughts twist into a sleeper, so if one managed to get out, one could be sure they would return with more people in order to feed the demon trees.

At the heart of the forest, it was reported that there were many Autarchs caught in spatial limbo and had their lives slowly sucked out. Therefore, they were unable to defeat the demon trees. This spatial freezing was an unresolved phenomenon, so no one dared to go near it.

The third one was the Wailing Shroudveil Lake.

It is said to be a murky lake surrounded by thick mist. Its pitch-black waters were said to be cursed, and those who swim too deep are pulled into a void of darkness, never to resurface. Not much is known about it since even Autarchs don't dare go there. However, one surviving Autarch had made it known that there was a group of strange black monoliths glowing eerily deep underneath the lake.

However, because that Autarch slowly went insane and killed an entire city a few weeks upon return before getting executed by the Three-Headed Hydra Clan, no one dared to go near it again.

The fourth one was the Abyssal Mountain Maze.

It was a black mountain with a lot of canyons and narrow pathways surrounded by obsidian walls. This strange ore apparently distorted time and space, but within this abyssal mountain were Vacuous Beasts that seemed to have long ago populated it from a spatial vortex appearing within. It was a danger zone because of that, but if a Mid Stage Autarch wanted to conquer it, they could.

However, there was an anomaly that restricted anyone above Mid-Stage Autarch from entering. It was unknown what kind of restriction it was, and no one wanted to go hunt Vacuous Beasts because there was almost nothing to gain out of them.

Like the above danger zones, there was the Duskveil Marsh, Shadowfang Gorge, and the Forgotten Deathmaw Desert, all danger levels at the Mid Autarch Grade and above.

These seven danger zones were the ones he shortlisted, depending on his need and danger level.

However, he couldn't be going around checking every one of them. Of course, he had the Empyrean Grade Flying Boat to cruise around and check every single site before the Celestial Transcendent possibly showed up, but even if he had the speed to go check every single one of them, it would be useless if he got caught within one of it.

It wouldn't be good.

He was racing for time. He couldn't afford to get caught in one of its mysteries.

"So what do you all think?"

He came back to the restaurant. It was also the inn they were staying in, and asked for their opinion. He was looking for Tia and Lea's opinion, wondering if they could help him decide where to go first and, hopefully, get it right.

Lea, Tia, and the others all checked the information he provided.

Lea raised her head to look at him, "Before I answer, why do you seem down?"

"Really?"

Davis blinked. He touched his face and sensed that it had wilted. He chuckled, "I was just wondering how adventurous it would be if I could explore all danger zones and unravel the mysteries. I will finally feel like a cultivator instead of a death row inmate that had escaped from the execution platform created by the heavens."

"Dear…" Lea's heart shook. She raised her hand, wanting to console him, but he shook his head.

"Just a passing thought. Nothing to worry…" He waved his hand and indicated for them to go on.

Tia's lips parted.

After he returned from information collection, she beamed and said that she was excited to go on an adventure with her big brother after a long time. She didn't think her words made him think about his unfair circumstances. She pursed her lips, blaming herself. This was not an adventure but a fight for survival. How could she be so careless?

"Can I say something?" Mystic Diviner Hailac raised her hand.

"Of course. Go ahead and share your opinion. You're here to help, aren't you?"

Davis nodded at her, causing her to be eager as she nodded back. She paused for a bit, thinking about how to convey her words before she opened her mouth.
