Chapter 4054 Three Powerful Variants
A wolf walked out, and a turtle walked out of the chamber. It was within a palace placed outside the city for security reasons.
As the wolf made it out, everyone could see that its fur was no longer white but a combination of gold-white while its wings were gold. Its eyes were now blazing with golden light, appearing to be capable of piercing through darkness with how bright it shone.
Its runes were interwoven with luminous radiance, its fur coat streaked with gold and greenish vibes as though an emerald star was filtering through it.
Myria had seen this kind of wolf. It was indeed a Starshard Luminous Wolf.
However, Starshard Luminous Wolves were supposed to have different features. For one, it lacked the gold color all over its fur and possessed a starry jade shade. Its light was also dark green in color, but this one remained white in addition to the gold from the starry life property.
Clearly, Fenren's evolution was a success. He had become a variant of the Starshard Luminous Wolf, possessing life energy. They were already aware since Fenren healed Andiron along with them, but seeing his new magical beast form was refreshing to Davis and the others and made them smile.
After all, they could be proud of this achievement even if it was a cruel method. Their crazy experiment was a success, and so was the other one.
The giant turtle, Andiron, walked out, his behemoth-like frame scary to look at as his head seemed to be covered in a dark skull-like bone frame. It nearly appeared to be an impenetrable shield. However, his eyes could be seen within the darkness. They were starry purple in color. His turtle shell had also undergone a change. It was no longer obsidian, but dark purple and golden streaks were weaving through its starlit shell.
He looked terrifying but also majestic.
*Screech!~*
A bird cry echoed from the distance, and an Infernal Devilflame Crow descended and stood amongst them.
It was none other than Soaren.
"Brothers, how was the suffering?" Soaren asked in a jovial tone.
"Don't even speak of it." Fenren harrumphed, " I just want to forget it all, and definitely don't let Renfa know."
To him, those three days were miserable. He practically wanted to kill himself from the pain prickling his body, all to obtain some peace. Fortunately, he was able to hold on.
He looked at Soaren with some respect, knowing that the other party also went through a similar or perhaps even more cruel evolution method as he was literally roasted in a cauldron. Perhaps he could find solace that he had it somewhat better, as he didn't know if he would've been able to endure getting roasted alive.
Andiron sighed, "It's no wonder why no magical beasts could mutate or evolve even if they wanted a change. To suffer so much without so many compatible resources and help will only lead to death. Most magical beasts will just accept their bloodline limit as fate and remain at their limited peak for a long time. The thought of wanting to evolve would just most likely lead them to death. It is reserved for kings and emperors alone. But what we achieved is far above that. We have achieved variance, becoming even more powerful even as Grand Saint Magical Beasts…"
His eyes opened wide within the armored bone armor of his head, "I can see… I can see the vague connections we share…"
"Oh?" Davis raised his brows, "What do you see exactly?"
"Mists." Andiron narrowed his big eyes, "I cannot say anymore as I feel like it is dangerous."
"Karmic turtles aren't supposed to reveal what the mysterious anomalies they see or hear to others. Don't make that mistake, Andiron." Myria solemnly advised.
"I won't."
Andiron nodded at Myria, "Many thanks, Fairy Myria, for the warning. My inherited memories are already warning me of the consequences. You will all be cursed by- I can't say. However, I would like to say that I can strengthen the karmic defenses of this mini-realm as a whole."
"What? Truly?" Davis raised his brows.
He did expect his brothers to be of use one day, but not this soon. He knew Andiron was a wise man. In his perspective, Andiron Blackryst, the Patriarch of the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan, was wise enough to know the truth about the Divine Emperor of Death's true character and side with him.
Of course, the initial exchange might've been because the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan's prophecy led Andiron to join hands with him, an Anarchic Divergent, but to stick that to the end, even after he was discriminated against so much was what he valued in Andiron.
Andiron nodded, his voice booming.
"I think I can cover the entirety of this space and make it disappear from most divinations. It's my unique species ability, Phantom Divination Veil. As long as the diviner's strength or resources don't exceed my karmic ability, then they can forget about pinpointing our location."
"Woah!"
Davis was shocked. For Andiron to already possess a species technique and know more about it, it seemed like this wasn't the first variation of this kind. It was just like Nyoran's variance.
"Since this is a mini-realm that is already an enclosed space, it is all the more easy for me to cast this technique."
Andiron confidently said, shocking the others.
Davis and Myria looked at each other, not thinking they would have such a benefit from this endeavor.
"Dang, I haven't even figured out what is my species technique…" Soaren heaved a breath full of self-disappointment, thinking he had to train more.
He still hadn't discovered what his species technique was.
All species' techniques were, in truth, the technique the magical beast was most proficient in and could naturally exude as though it was a part of their nature. It was something embedded in their core. Every time they used a species technique, it would stem from the core.
However, Soaren had no idea since his core was unique and unexplored. He needed to release more and more energy until he reached a bottleneck and released it like he had hit the ceiling of his anger.
"I have no idea about my species technique either, but this is perfect." Fenren grinned, "With this, the chances that the realm is found is on the lower end. Furthermore, we can finally leave to save our family as long as we reach the Empyrean Stage. We can leave without worry if Andiron stays."
Davis exchanged soul transmission with Myria and turned to look at Andiron.
"Karmic techniques are double-edged swords. I'm sure you would know that, so you should discuss with Tia how to form a veil over this mini-realm. Then it won't cancel out each other's karmic techniques."
"Of course. I'm not foolish enough to cast it right now and accidentally break the existing veil. I can already see it with my eyes, the mist… the veil that is surrounding and protecting this mini-realm…"
Andiron looked up at the skies. What he saw was no longer just a starry sky but a colorless mist that was highlighted to him, like it was a thick layer of transparent sheet covering the skies around him.
Davis looked up and activated his karmic sight.
He didn't know if his eyes were much more proficient, but all he saw was a layer of innumerable colorless threads encasing the skies. From what he heard, it seemed to be different from how Andiron perceived the world around him. Nonetheless, he knew not to mess with karma a lot or even perceive them since those strange teeth-like entities might come to bite and swallow him or his karma.
He was an outsider and not connected with the dimension that karma rules in any way. That further limited him in interfering with karma. He was tackling this problem while encountering the lowest risks he could and obtaining the greatest benefits, such as learning the karmic impersonation technique.
However, he feared if he started doing divinations or something of that sort, those ghastly maws might rip him apart and leave him into a lifeless husk. The only way he felt like he could even counter these strange entities was through using Fallen Heaven, but from the beginning to the current time, he has never felt like exposing Fallen Heaven and endangering it and his own future.
Even Fallen Heaven was scared of the heavens, so unless he had no choice, his stance on using Fallen Heaven would never change.
He quickly deactivated his karmic sight and turned to look at Myria.
"These three experiments succeeded. I can take care of Everlight's evolution, but for you, it's finally time to enter the Immortal Emperor Stage."
