Divine Hack System
Being an Awakened, Leo could ask blacksmiths to customize some weapons. And to deal with Vulpi, Leo had customized a perfect weapon.
Suddenly, a black ball appeared in Leo's hand. Using the Aim-Bot, he aimed at the ground 10 meters in front of the Vulpi and threw the ball as hard as he could.
The Vulpi heard the noise of the wind being disturbed and soon deduced that it was coming towards him, so he slowed down a bit when he saw that this object was going to hit a few meters in front of him.
But when the black ball hit the ground in front of the Vulpi, no explosion happened. The only noise that came out was as if something was leaking, but for a monster, he couldn't know what that noise was.
However, Leo, who was watching from afar, started to smile and shot another arrow at the Vulpi.
Swoosh!
Hearing the noise of the arrow coming again, the Vulpi got angry. Ignoring the ball Leo threw earlier he ran in the direction the arrow was shot while sniffing to locate Leo even better. But when the Vulpi took a few steps forward, a disastrous smell entered the nostrils he used to breathe.
Having no eyesight, the Vulpi had a sense of smell tens of times more powerful than humans, so when he smelled the terrible smell that was in front of him, he momentarily lost his senses and couldn't feel anything else. In anger, the Vulpi opened its mouth to roar, but it didn't last a second before it closed its mouth, as that horrible scent even entered its mouth.
p??d? n?ve? That horrible smell came from the ball Leo had thrown. Skunks give off very strong smells when they are in danger, and Mutant Skunks give off an even stronger smell. Leo had asked a blacksmith to make a ball that could contain the scent of a Mutant Skunk.
The ball the blacksmith made cost Leo $5,000, and considering a Vulpi was a Bronze 4 Star monster, the maximum price Leo could get by selling that monster's corpse would be $5,000, so no one tended to use something like that to hunt Vulpis. But while for other Awakens $5,000 was a lot of money, since they had to share the spoils of their hunt with other people, for Leo, who hunted alone, that money was very little.
At this point Leo didn't even need to hunt Vulpi, as he could pay the old shop owner $40,000, but what Leo wanted was the challenge of hunting a Bronze 4 Stars monster.
Unfortunately, Leo's Bronze Rank 2 Star strength was still not enough for him to safely hunt Vulpi without using that ball. But he saw that his only problem was his lack of strength, as Aim-Bot Level 10 and Wall-Hack Level 07 gave him a very powerful advantage.
Seeing the Vulpi was about to turn to flee, Leo shot the bow a few more times, slamming it into the monster's knee joints.
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
Leo shot one arrow at a time for as much power as possible, four times in a row. As there were no bones on the back of the knee, Leo's four arrows accurately hit this weak spot of the Vulpi, thus crippling the monster. Seeing the Vulpi writhing in pain, Leo was merciful and killed the monster with just one more arrow to end its suffering.
Swoosh!
[Congratulations, you killed a Vulpi, Bronze 4 Stars. You received 1,250 Experience Points.]
Leo was shocked when he read the message from the System. As this was the first Bronze 4 Star monster he had hunted, he didn't know how many Experience points he would receive. He was surprised to see that a single Bronze 4 Star monster had earned him 1,000 Experience points. That was 4x more than a Bronze 3 Star monster!
Initially Leo was a little disappointed because the Examination would be the next day and he hadn't been able to make any other skills go up to [Max Level], but seeing the amount of Experience a Bronze 4 Star monster gave, Leo felt it might be possible to at least raise the Wall-Hack to Level 10 as well.
Currently, the Wall-Hack was at Level 07, costing 32k Exp points. At Level 08 it would cost 64k, and at Level 09 it would cost 128k - totaling 224k Exp points to reach Level 10 from Level 07. Level 05 07 ???? already needed 32k Exp points. Considering that twice as many Exp points would be needed at each level, to reach Level 10 it would take 992k Exp points in total: something completely infeasible for Leo at the moment. As much as this skill was very powerful, the amount of Exp points to raise it to max level was also very high.
'When I go up to Bronze 4 Stars, Bronze 4 Stars monsters will probably give me a maximum of 500 Exp points, but Bronze 5 Stars monsters can probably give me 2,500 Exp points at least… Not to mention that with Bronze 4 Star strength, my hunting speed will go up a lot,' Leo started to plan.
Leo had already decided that he would not go up to Silver 1 Star Rank before his combat skills were maxed out. So, upon arriving at the Military University, Leo would only have to worry about hunting Bronze 5 Star monsters and leveling up his Speed-Hack, while putting some Exp points into the Inventory-Hack. After all, as much as the Inventory-Hack was very useful, it was still just an auxiliary skill.
To max Inventory-Hack to level 10, Leo would need several million Exp points, and considering that each level of this skill only went up 1 cubic meter of interior space, it wasn't worth that much.
Of course, he wanted to know if his skills could be upgraded to level 11 when he reached Silver rank, and maybe that could bring an upgrade to make Inventory-Hack even more useful… But for now, Leo wasn't that worried about that skill.
After cutting off the most valuable parts of the Vulpi, Leo looked at his watch and saw that it was only 9:00. Considering that he had left his house at 06:00 and 2 hours and 30 minutes were spent just to get from his house to here, Leo decided to hunt monsters here until he reached the 224k Exp points needed to make the Wall-Hack max level, since with each level of Wall-Hack he would find monsters even faster and increase his hunting speed.
After getting 224k Exp points, if it was still early, Leo would continue to be able to level up the Speed-Hack, but if he didn't, Leo wouldn't despair either. He had only become an Awakened 2 weeks ago. Even though it took a little longer to get his Speed-Hack to max level, it was still a pretty good time, especially compared to other Awakened.
With the Vulpi stored in his inventory, Leo went out to hunt again. This time what he was most concerned about was the speed of the hunt, so he didn't even intend to stop to eat, just eating some quick snacks while running and keeping the Speed-Hack on for a long time to further increase the speed he encountered Bronze 4 Stars monsters.
As long as it wasn't a monster like Vulpi, Leo was confident to hit the monster's eye at 70 meters and kill the monster with just one shot. If the monster was too strong and managed to resist the arrow, Leo could just run and look for another weaker one without wasting time dealing with a very powerful monster. In this way, Leo's hunting speed increased even more!
