The worst was over, and the family of three caught up in the living room. The scene was very heartwarming.
The sun was now shining from the west.
“Growl...” Someone’s stomach gave a loud rumble.
“Oh my! This is bad!” Qin Dongxue got up quickly and stomped her foot. “We were so lost in our conversation that we forgot to eat!”
“It’s all because of you!” Qin Dongxue glared at Ling Yun again before she got up and disappeared into the kitchen.
“Big Brother, Aunty has been so worried about you for the past month. She even learned how to cook! She has been preparing all morning for your arrival today and refused to let me enter the kitchen...” Lingyu whispered into Ling Yun’s ears.
Qin Dongxue could hear every word that was uttered from the kitchen. She blushed but kept her ears pricked for what Ling Yun would say.
Ling Yun gave a faint smile and nodded, though his heart skipped a beat.
“I’ll bring the dishes out.” Ning Lingyu went into the kitchen as well.
The food was served very quickly and with a good variety of fragrant dishes.
“Rascal, I’m warning you, you better not say it’s not good!” Qin Dongxue warned Ling Yun just as he was about to start his feast.
“How can Aunty’s cooking be bad, it must be delicious!”
Ling Yun’s pair of handsome eyes were looking directly into Qin Dongxue’s eyes, causing her to grow flustered.
Qin Dongxue was terrified of this feeling but enjoyed it all the same. Her heart thumped around like a deer, unable to be described.
Ling Yun reached out for a large piece of sweet and sour pork tenderloin.
Too sweet! There was obviously too much sugar!
No one was perfect, but no one was worthless either.
Ling Yun sighed secretly. Qin Dongxue was a genius at cultivation, but her cooking wasn’t worth mentioning.
“How is it?” Qin Dongxue asked nervously after seeing how Ling Yun chewed it carefully and swallowed.
“Um, it’s very nice. Aunty’s cooking suited my taste buds really well...” Ling Yun chewed through his words, acting as though he couldn’t get enough of the food.
“Really?” Qin Dongxue was elated. She placed a huge piece of chicken into his bowl.
Ling Yun took a bite. Ha, there was too much salt this time.
“Delicious! Don’t fight with me, you two. I need to eat more, I’m so hungry now...”
Ling Yun started to devour the food on the table.
The dishes weren’t tasty, but Ling Yun knew they came from the bottom of Qin Dongxue’s heart. He ate more than usual and could even be mistaken as a hungry ghost!
“Eat a bit slower, don’t choke...” Qin Dongxue wiped the oiliness from Ling Yun’s lips gently.
Ning Lingyu didn’t believe her eyes. She taught Qin Dongxue cooking and had tasted her cooking. Ling Yun’s expression baffled her. Could Aunty’s cooking have improved?
Ning Lingyu ate a piece of meat and swallowed it with immense difficulty. She turned to Ling Yun with pity in her eyes.
Big Brother is so formidable. Ning Lingyu admired him secretly.
Ling Yun burped and patted his stomach after he was done. “Aunty, I’m full.”
“Turn here, wipe your lips.” Qin Dongxue passed Ling Yun a napkin.
Qin Dongxue then realized that Ning Lingyu was staring at the two greens in front of her. She seemed to be mustering the courage to make a huge decision.
Ning Lingyu’s expression was common to Qin Dongxue. She was like this every time Ning Lingyu asked her for her opinion on her cooking.
“Eh, Lingyu, why aren’t you eating?” Qin Dongxue felt embarrassed that she was only taking care of Ling Yun and not Lingyu.
“Okay, I’ll eat now,” Ning Lingyu said but didn’t touch her chopsticks.
Qin Dongxue had a premonition. She looked at Ling Yun then towards Ning Lingyu and finally took a bite.
“Ah... why is it so salty?” Qin Dongxue spat the food out and gulped a whole glass of water down.
Qin Dongxue blushed and stared at the empty dishes in front of Ling Yun without a word.
“Lingyu, clear all these dishes, I’ll accompany Aunty out.” Ling Yun winked at Lingyu, conveying the solution to this awkward situation with telepathy.
Ning Lingyu nodded and started clearing the table. Ling Yun grabbed Qin Dongxue’s small hand and handed outside the villa.
Qin Dongxue’s hand jerked, but it didn’t break away from Ling Yun. She allowed herself to be brought out. Ling Yun’s obedient image changed instantly to that of a domineering male.
With their current strength, their movements would just be a blinding flash before everyone’s eyes.
Ling Yun poked Qin Dongxue and exerted his Qinggong to the maximum. Their bodies flew high into the air and sailed more than two hundred meters away. They arrived at the seaside in no time.
Qin Dongxue shook off Ling Yun’s huge hand and tried to calm herself down. “I’ll tell my sister how you treated me when she gets back!”
Qin Dongxue pretended to be appreciating the sea and didn’t dare to look directly at Ling Yun. It was as though she could conceal her feelings only when she mentioned Qin Qiuyue.
“Hehe, my mum loves me.” Ling Yun released Qin Dongxue’s hand and took two steps forward. He stood still, facing the sea. “Aunty, the scenery is beautiful here.”
Qin Dongxue’s face grew hot, and redness spread from ear to ear. How could she not remember this was where she fell into the sea?
Qin Dongxue had been giving Ning Lingyu lessons every night while Ling Yun was gone. She would wander here whenever she was alone. It had become her habit.
The scene of Ling Yun’s kiss played in her mind, causing her heart to pound.
Qin Dongxue knew Ling Yun had no choice, but the feeling of his hot lips on hers was etched deeply into her mind.
She started to probe into his past and his hobbies. She even started learning to cook with Ning Lingyu, just so she could see him gobbling up the food she made.
She had been trying her best, but the results weren’t good. She didn’t expect him to eat everything she made with gusto.
Qin Dongxue was annoyed with herself, but she also felt a trace of sweetness in her heart.
Ling Yun was now standing in front of her, and Qin Dongxue’s heart raced wildly.
She didn’t know what to say.
“Aunty, I’ve caused you much worry out at sea,” Ling Yun started.
“Hmph, it was Lingyu who was worried about you. You are now more powerful than Aunty, so I won’t be worried about you!” Qin Dongxue said. She hung her head slightly and bit her red lips. Her long hair flowed freely in the sea breeze.
Ling Yun smiled and turned around, staring straight at Qin Dongxue’s face. “Aunty, the dinner tonight was the happiest I’ve ever had.”
Qin Dongxue’s heart was melting, but her face showed otherwise. She stomped her foot lightly. “So disgusting.”
Ling Yun turned back towards the sea. No one spoke. The air went stale.
Ling Yun was enjoying this kind of atmosphere, but Qin Dongxue couldn’t do the same. Her heart was on a roller coaster, and her chest felt like it was going to blow up. She had to talk.
Even if there was nothing to say.
“Rascal, I forgot to ask you just now. Why did you treat Senior Liu like that? He is my senior...”
Qin Dongxue was puzzled. Liu Suifeng did show an air of disdain towards Ling Yun, but why did Ling Yun have to humiliate Liu Suifeng?
Ling Yun turned and stared straight into Qin Dongxue’s eyes. “Because he touched you!” he replied icily.
Qin Dongxue’s eyes met Ling Yun’s. Her whole body quivered, and her face reddened. She wanted to find somewhere to hide immediately.
It was a mysterious feeling. Qin Dongxue was awkward and panicked. She looked at the handsome man in front of her and realized that he was no longer the adopted son of her sister. He was also no longer someone she needed to protect. In front of him, she had regressed into a shy little girl.
Her heart galloped wildly.
“It’s too hot, I’m not going to stand here in the sun. I... I want to go back...”
Qin Dongxue had a sudden urge to escape.
