Chapter 914 Meeting with an Old Acquaintance

Clark's personality was just the same as what Maximilian had thought. He believed in Connor within a few words.

When Connor hung up the phone, he felt this was so incredible. What was happening here was beyond his imagination.

"You're as wise as always, sir," Connor exclaimed. Now he respected Maximillian even more. He would have lost the big sum of money without Maximilian's help.

Maximilian laughed, "You can get back on Rowen when you have enough money."

"Of course, I will," Connor nodded and replied. "An eye for an eye", that was what he had in mind.

Maximilian didn't leave until he gave Connor the money.

In another place.

Adviser Ashton and a cowering man were standing in front of the bedroom door of the Dragon Queen.

The Dragon Queen shimmied out of the room and flung her hair. The cowering man's eyes lit up as if there were burning fire in it.

Ashton was jealous. He kicked the man's leg.

The man covered his lower body and screamed.

The Dragon Queen sneered, "I heard you're Maximilian's friend."

"Answer her question, you!" Ashton pulled the man up and yelled at him.

The man kept nodding and said, "Yes, we knew each other from elementary school, but I haven't seen him for decades."

"I assume you have a nice relationship... then you can do me a favor, and in exchange, I'll satisfy one of your wishes, including... what you want to do with me in your mind now," she said coquettishly to him, standing behind his back.

The man felt so happy, and it was till then that Ashton told him the whole plan. The man agreed on the proposal without hesitation.

He wouldn't mind betraying his family for personal interests, let alone an acquaintance from elementary school.

The Dragon Queen sneered, "I hope he would tell you where the key to the dragon door is."

"Don't worry, I can handle it," the man patted his chest and said.

Seeing the man leaving, Ashton ran to dragon queen like a dog and asked, "Ma'am, are you satisfied with me?"

The Dragon Queen looked at him disdainfully when she heard that. Then she said, "Isn't it a bit too early for you to answer this question?"

Ashton smiled awkwardly, and suddenly the Dragon Queen started to seduce him. He swallowed and held his cup tight. He took a sip of tonic from the cup and tried to change the subject. "I've got things to do, so I have to go now."

But the Dragon Queen instantly dragged him inside the room. A while later, Ashton crawled out because he could barely feel his legs.

When the other man came out, it took him quite a while to find Maximilian's phone number, and he was slightly surprised.

It wasn't hard at all for him to find Maximilian.

The man immediately dialed the number. When Maximilian saw that number, he paused for a second and then picked it up.

"Max! It's me! Mouse! Do you remember?"

Maximilian found the voice familiar, but he couldn't recall who the man exactly is. Then he realized who it was when the man called himself "Mouse".

He remembered that when he was in elementary school, he did have a classmate who was given the nickname "Mouse". He remembered it very well because the kid looked just like a real mouse.

"Hey, dude! Anything I can do for you?" Maximilian smiled and asked. They hadn't contacted each other ever since they graduated.

Maximilian wasn't very close to this man, therefore he felt it strange that the man called him all of a sudden.

"Well, I happened to see your number on the list, so I think I should catch up with you. Do you have time for dinner?"

"Okay," Maximilian answered without hesitation. He thought it would just be a dinner with an old friend.

When he arrived at the restaurant, he saw the man sitting at the table. He remembered the man's real name, Spencer.

Spencer greeted him with a smile and said, "Come here and take a cigarette."

"Life must have been being nice to you," Maximilian saw the expensive cigarette and laughed.

Spencer waved his hand and said, "Don't tease me. I wouldn't take these cigarettes on usual days. I often take much cheaper ones. I bought this one for my friend."

Spencer had caught up with Maximilian for quite a while, and then he realized that he still had a task. He kept fill Maximilian's cups, but after quite a few rounds, he found that Maximilian could drink much more than he did.

He suddenly didn't know what to do. They hadn't contacted each other since graduation, and therefore he didn't know how much Maximilian could drink. He used to be quite proud of how much alcohol he could drink.

Now he knew that Maximilian could drink much more than he did.

Maximilian smiled and said, "I think you're trying to get me drunk. Do you have any questions that you'd like to ask me?"

"Why are you saying that? Are you suspecting me?" Spencer curled his lips. He felt quite nervous, but he was also very confident in his acting skills, so he still looked very calm.

Spencer felt his head was aching. He asked, "Dude? How much can you drink?"

"I have no idea," Maximilian shrugged and said.

Now Spencer knew that this would be useless. He paid the bills and then decided to talk to Maximilian for a walk. While they were on the streets, he asked, "How about having some fun in the Internet cafe?"

"Great," Maximilian didn't refuse him because it was a request from an old friend.

Internet cafes nowadays had become shelters for homeless and unemployed young people. The smoke in there was smothering. Even the two smokers couldn't help coughing.

They took a seat and played a combat game. They played for several rounds, most of which ended in a tie.

Maximilian wasn't as half good at it as before because he hadn't played it for so long.

When Spencer stood up, he bumped into a young man. The young man was very thin, so he lost balance and fell backward, but he looked a bit angry, maybe it looked very humiliating.

"You got a problem?" The young man was very quick-tempered. He at once leaned forward and punched Spencer.

Spencer was going to apologize before he was punched. Now that the young man had punched him, his face looked sullen, and he stood straight to fight back.

Maximilian was speechless with this. He would never come here if he knew this would happen. It was very trouoblesome.

The young man called a bunch of people in, and they circled around Spencer. Spencer was so scared when he saw those people. He was scared. Now he was completely and apologized, "I'm sorry, I wasn't watching my way just now. That was why I ran into you."

"We won't buy that. Now give each of us 1000 yuan and we'll show some mercy." The young man became extremely arrogant and started to blackmail, thinking that they had more people.
