Chapter 601 601:- A pleading Request
"We still have a month's time before the Dragon Grass appears. Shall we use that time to explore the beast continent?" Aditya suggested. Now that they knew the location of the Dragon Grass, if they wanted they could just head back to the Istarin Empire and prepare for the big battle.
However, Aditya had planned to come to the Beast Continent for a long time. He didn't want to return back to his empire this soon.
He's really curious about the culture and the society of the beast continent.
The Beast Continent was home to many Beast-kin clans and tribes. The Beast Continent had an abundant supply of meat but the thing that Beast-kins lacked the most was the availability of fresh vegetables. Even if fresh vegetables were brought from other continents, the merchants usually sold those vegetables at a very high price making them unaffordable for many beast-kin drives and clans.
Aditya hoped to establish a strong trade relationship with Many beast-kin clans. The Istarin Empire had an abundant supply of fresh vegetables. Aditya was hoping to exchange their excess supply of vegetables with meat from the Beast-kin clans.
This was just one of his many reasons for wanting to come to this continent. Another reason why he wanted to come here is that Aditya wanted to bring a few beast-kin clans under his command. If any Beast-kin clan was willing, then he would even give them a small territory to live in the Istarin Empire given that the Beast-kin clan swore their loyalty to him and to the Empire.
Of course, that does not mean Aditya was going to attack Beast-kin clans and forcefully make them submit to him. Aditya wasn't that desperate either. If he was really desperate about it then, he just could have brought all the beast-kin slaves into the Istarin Empire.
And the third and the most important reason why Aditya wanted to keep towards the Southern part of the beast continent, is because he wanted to take Lara to her former home. He wanted to take her to the Great Starry Sky Empire. Although the mighty Empire had fallen, in the ruins of the Empire, there are some things that Lara's parents (Jonah & Lauren) have left behind for Lara.
The Great Starry Sky Empire fell 59 years after Lara was put to sleep. In the previous Continental War, The Great Starry Sky Empire also had taken part in it. The Great Starry Sky Empire was one of the few forces that backed out of the war in its initial stages which is the reason why the Empire was able to retain its military powers. And once the war ended, the Great Starry Sky Empire also rose in power.
Unfortunately, just after 160 years, the Empire was totally destroyed by the Night Rider Sect. So in the end, her parents never saw their daughter again.
Lara lost everything that she held dear. She lost her parents, her siblings, and her birthplace.
'When the time comes, I will definitely get revenge on the Night Rider Sect on behalf of Lara. This is the promise of the Dragon Monarch.' Aditya swore this while looking at Lara.
Lara didn't know why her hubby was staring at her. She blinked her eyes and wondered why her hubby was staring at her.
"I don't mind. I have been enjoying this journey so far." Riya said with a smile.
It only has been 5 days since they came to the Beast Continent. Everyone felt reluctant to end their vacation this soon.
Through this trip, everyone felt that their relationship had improved a lot. There was no jealousy among them. Each of them really cared for each other.
"What about you, Alicia?" Aditya specifically asked Alicia since the Goddess of wealth was the busiest one among all of Aditya's fiances. Aditya and everyone knew that Alicia was the very definition of being a workaholic.
Alicia thought for a moment before replying seriously. "I don't mind. Besides, didn't you say that you want to go take Lara to the ruins of the Great Starry Sky Empire?" Alicia perfectly remembered that once Aditya had told them about taking Lara to see the ruins of her home.
Upon hearing her words, Aditya was surprised. Since he wasn't expecting to remember his words. His blue pupils stared at her beautiful emerald pupils.
"We are all having fun. Let's continue our journey." Alicia felt that it wasn't bad to take a break once in a while.
However, her answer had surprised everyone. After all, one month may be a little bit long. They weren't expecting her answer.
After all, how could, Alicia stay away from her work for this long?
It was impossible.
Riya even rubbed her eyes and wondered if she had heard wrong.
"Are you feeling alright? Julia please Alicia's temperature for me. I think our Golden Glutton sister might have a fever." Riya seriously said.
Alicia was left speechless when Julia followed Riya's words and actually checked her temperature by placing her palm on her forehead.
"Cut it out...!!!!" Alicia pushed Julia's hand away feeling slightly annoyed.
"And What do you mean by feeling alright?" Alicia glared at Riya.
"I mean every one of us knows that you're a workaholic woman. We did not expect you to say yes." Julia replied in Riya's place.
"Just what kind of person do you all think I am?"
"An extremely serious workaholic woman who secretly loves to read erotic novel.......!!!" Riya couldn't finish her words as Alicia had covered her mouth. She did not expect Riya to reveal her embarrassing secrets in front of everyone, especially in front of Helen.
Her whole face had turned red.
'I swear, I will take my revenge for this.' Alicia secretly made up her mind to do the same when they got the chance.
However, in Helen's eyes, all she saw was a happy family. There was no hate in their eyes. They all were so close to each other.
Ignoring Riya and Alicia who were arguing with each other, Aditya turned to Helen.
"Miss Helen, I have to thank you for providing us with such valuable information. Is there anything that you need? Please don't hesitate to ask." It was time for them to take their leave. But before leaving Aditya wanted to reward Helen for giving them such a valuable piece of information.
"Your Majesty, I have a request.....!!!!" Helen suddenly kneeled in front of Aditya.
Seeing this everyone stopped talking and stared at her in surprise.
"Miss Helen........!!!!" Aditya was about to tell her to get up but she spoke louder.
"Your Majesty, I beg of you. Please help me in saving the Lionrock city." Helen lowered her head to Aditya.
Helen's heart was beating loudly. She was feeling really nervous. 'I hope I haven't overstepped my boundaries.' She did not want to offend Aditya.
All Helen wanted was to find a way to save Lionrock City.
"Miss Helen, please get up."
Once she stood up, Aditya looked at her and asked. "Can you please explain what you meant by saving this city?" Aditya seriously asked.
Helen took a deep breath before staring. "I don't know if Your Majesty knows this but the Lionrock city does not have a City Lord."
Aditya was surprised again. "Then who is responsible for administrating and governing this city?"
"Actually, no one." Helen lowered her head and said in a disappointed tone.
"The Lionrock city isn't under the control of any Beast-kin clan or tribe. In the absence of the city Lord, the whole city has been divided into five sectors. Each sector is controlled by four gangs. Each sector has different rules and different tax rates. The Four gangs that controlled the four sectors also fought among themselves. All the gangs cared about was collecting the high tax rate money from the people."
"No attention was put into developing the city. This is the reason why Lionrock City is so unorganized. Every problem that the city is currently facing is because of the absence of a City Lord. These problems were created by these gangs."
Aditya nodded his head in understanding. "I assume that Miss Helen controls this part of the city?"
"Yes!!!! I control the last sector, which is also the middle of the heart part of the city. Using my powers and influence I was able to develop this little sector. The heart of the city is like a paradise inside hell. Although everyone in the whole city wants to live in this part of the city because of the high land price, only the rich can afford them."
"Besides, I can't let the whole population of the city live in such a small area. So I placed restrictions on the number of people that can live in this part of the city." Compared to the four sectors, the heart of the city was really safe. Even the other gangs have to give face to Helen and not act violently in her territory.
"Miss Helen, can you tell us why the Lionrock doesn't have a City Lord?"
