Chapter 349: Chapter 351: I’m Narrow-minded too
“God of Immortals and Ghosts, spare my life, spare my life! I can give you anything you need, just leave me alive…” Pu Shiming was so scared that his legs went weak, and he knelt on the ground, as if he had offended the gods within the temple.
In the folklore, it was said that the Immortal Ghost was the deity of the earth, the harbinger of good weather and harvests, the embodiment of an Immortal God who protected people from natural disasters. The Purple Sect Clan must have committed some heinous crime that incurred the wrath of the gods.
Being a member of the Purple Sect Clan, Pu Shiming had naturally heard of this legend.
Initially, he scoffed at it, believing it was just the trickery of some ancient cunning beings posing as gods. But now, subdued by the powerful being in front of him, Pu Shiming was no different from the so-called ignorant masses, ceaselessly bowing down, hoping to grasp a sliver of hope for survival.
“So Young Master Pu, the pride of the whole Supreme Court Courtyard Continent, also believes in those ridiculous tales of Ghost Gods.” At that moment, a familiar voice came from the darkness.
Pu Shiming was stupefied for a moment before slowly lifting his head, his hair somewhat disheveled, and his forehead and face covered with dirt.
To show his sincerity, he had knocked his head on the ground with great vigor.
However, when Pu Shiming saw a figure emerging from the darkness, it turned out to be the very person he had just ordered to be crippled, and his face was filled with shock and horror!!
“Zhu… Zhu Minglang!” Pu Shiming couldn’t help but exclaim.
“Aren’t you relieved that I’m not an Immortal Ghost?” Zhu Minglang asked with a smile.
“Why do you pretend to be a god?!” Pu Shiming burst out in rage, his face swelling up like a pig’s liver.
As soon as those words left his mouth, Pu Shiming suddenly saw behind Zhu Minglang, a dragon resembling a dark serpent slowly appeared. Its slender body was not like most seductive evil snakes but rather exuded a sense of terrifying strength and power.
Its extraordinary feather-like scales shone with a rare divine brilliance, sometimes colorful, sometimes dark and profound. Its body, like black magical jade, was gleaming and smooth, with only some dragon whiskers on its tail and neck, yet it still exuded an aura of royalty!
Its wings were folded, its fangs slightly exposed, still with the residual blood of his own two Purple Dragons on them.
Pu Shiming couldn’t help but glance at his two Purple Dragons again, only to be horrified to discover that both the Holy Lion Purple Dragon and the Silver Tail Purple Dragon had been sucked dry of all their blood, their bodies shriveled up like long-dead skins!
With one flick of its tongue to the corner of its mouth, the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon wiped the remaining Dragon Blood from its lips clean.
Although it usually turned blood into vapor which it then absorbed through its wings as threads of blood mist, when it came to delicacies like Purple Dragons, the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon didn’t mind personally indulging in the blood…
Drinking the blood of lower beings like Stone Fairy and Ghost barely served as feeding its hunger,
But feasting on the blood vessels of a Purple Dragon, that was truly a sumptuous meal!
“Dragon… Dragon… Dragon King!” Pu Shiming’s face was full of astonishment, and he spoke with a tone that even he couldn’t believe.
“Does it feel like you’d rather encounter an Immortal Ghost instead?” Zhu Minglang smiled again.
Dragon King!
That was the very Dragon King that Pu Shiming himself was desperate to obtain!
If he had a Dragon King, he believed the entire Imperial Dynasty would regard him as the chosen one. Both the Pu Family and the Purple Sect Clan would spare no expense in pouring all their resources into him…
Even though he had not yet possessed a Dragon King, Pu Shiming had always believed that he would eventually reach that stage; he had confidence in himself for that.
However, that confidence crumbled viciously the moment he saw Zhu Minglang appear with a Dragon King in tow!!
Anyone might possess a Dragon King, but Zhu Minglang was an absolute impossibility.
He was clearly a monk who had taken up his practice halfway, and had only been a Dragon Shepherd for a few years!!
“Impossible, impossible, impossible…” Pu Shiming kept repeating these words, his mindset even worse than when he had been repeating “shameless” earlier.
“Nothing is impossible, I gave you a chance, but you did not cherish it,” Zhu Minglang said.
“You wouldn’t dare kill me. By killing me, you would be provoking a conflict between Zhu Gate and the Pu Family. Do you think your Zhu Gate could withstand the wrath of the Pu Family and the Purple Sect Clan? Do you think the Imperial Dynasty would let you go? Yes, I admit I wanted to kill you, but so what? You’re still alive, but if I die…” Pu Shiming roared furiously and shamefully.
“It’s okay, everyone will think it was the work of an Immortal Ghost. After all, enough people from the Purple Sect Clan have died on this land, one less Pu Shiming won’t matter. Next time you live, be a person with a broader heart, or if you really can’t manage that, at least don’t provoke Zhu Minglang. I have a narrow heart too.” Zhu Minglang snapped his fingers, signaling the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon to execute.
The Heavenly Slaughter Dragon moved its head closer, not giving Pu Shiming a chance to struggle, and bit directly toward his head.
Facing a Dragon King, Pu Shiming felt the overwhelming pressure as if a giant was holding him, squeezing him madly all over his body.
He couldn’t even resist; his eyes were filled with the fear of death.
“Wait a moment,” Zhu Minglang suddenly called out to the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon.
Pu Shiming’s body slumped like rotten mud, on the verge of collapse.
“I forgot to ask you a question. Why are you acting so angry as if I had cuckolded you? Are you really sick?” Zhu Minglang asked.
“What did you say… what are you talking about…” Pu Shiming’s voice trembled.
“Zhu Xuehen, you’re obsessed with her, so why target me?” Zhu Minglang asked.
“Heh, heh heh heh, don’t you know exactly what’s in your heart?” Pu Shiming laughed, but there was no smile on his face, making him look especially grotesque.
Zhu Minglang fell into brief contemplation.
The Heavenly Slaughter Dragon kept its mouth open, saliva dripping onto Pu Shiming’s face.
Zhu Minglang was still pondering, but casually waved his hand.
“Crack!!”
With one bite, Pu Shiming was splattered with blood on the spot, and like a puddle of mud, he did not even struggle.
The Heavenly Slaughter Dragon does not eat humans, so it just killed him outright.
As for human blood, it had no interest in it, even though the person had a cultivation base comparable to a Ten Thousand Year Saint Spirit. Human blood is ultimately not clean.
Now, the matter was how to clean up the crime scene.
Luckily, Zhu Minglang had carefully preserved some blood from a thirteen thousand-year-old Immortal Ghost, dripping it into the deep soil. This special blood would seep down to the bottom layer by itself. Then, leaving behind some skin flakes and footprints he had previously collected, Zhu Minglang was rather adept at this and quickly arranged the site to look like the scene of an Immortal Ghost’s crime.
All of Pu Shiming’s actions were taken on the spur of the moment.
Similarly, Zhu Minglang’s revenge was also spontaneous.
If this matter were to be investigated, it would never trace back to him. Even if they found out it might have been done by a person, not an Immortal Ghost, the suspects wouldn’t include such a little Dragon Shepherd like himself.
