Chapter 411 - 410 - The Battle Begins

Point-of-View: Sylvar Miirphys

"Do not give up, if you manage to understand how it works, you will be able to activate spells. Try again," Urged Bell, as I let out a defeated sigh.

She'd been trying to help me learn how to perform spell-casting, but it was no use, I just don't have a knack for this stuff. She'd given me a book that was supposed to be a simple and easy to follow guide when it comes to casting spells, but it's all Greek to me.

"Look, I appreciate the effort, but this is pointless...I haven't been able to figure this stuff out for over a century, I'm not gonna be able to suddenly understand it now, you know," I responded with a shake of my head.

"You are being too pessimistic, it is not as difficult as you think. Come on, at least memorize enough command lines to activate simple spells like healing, teleportation and defensive barriers," She replied firmly.

"I'd literally rather do anything else...most preferably you," I muttered in response.

"Hm? What do you mean? I do understand how you could 'do' me," She tilted her head with a confused look on her face.

Okay, that's pretty adorable.

"I guess that doesn't make sense in this world, huh? Why don't you try and guess what I mean?" I replied suggestively, as I ran my hand down her side and lightly squeezed her hip.

"O-oh, I think I understand...," She responded with a slight whisper as her face turned slightly red, before she cleared her throat and composed herself, adding, "I-it is the middle of the day, control your lust, Sylvar. Get back to focusing on spell-casting. And, then...tonight, we can, um..."

"Alright, I like the sound of that! Guess I might as well at least try to figure out one spell," I remarked enthusiastically, feeling a lot more motivated.

I then turned my attention back to the book, though my enthusiasm significantly died down as I did.

"I see, I think I am starting to understand what kind of incentives encourage you," She whispered in my ear, as she wrapped her arms around me from behind, her boobs pressing up onto my back.

Oh, yeah, I'm absolutely loving this. In the past, I didn't get along with her all that well, but ever since she and I got our asses handed to us by Kuro, it feels like I've gotten closer and closer to her.

"On second thought, I don't think I can wait till tonight, after all. Let's-...," I began to suggest, before a loud commotion from outside distracted me.

"Tch, what is going on? Just as things were getting good...!" Growled Bell angrily, storming out of the hut as lightning began crackling all around her.

...huh, I'm kinda flattered that she's so pissed over us getting interrupted. Guess I should go help her out. As I headed out of the hut, I noticed it right away...the protective barriers that we'd put up, they were gone.

"What is this?" I frowned, as I held out my palm to bring my spear towards me.

"There the two of you are! What happened, why are the barriers gone?" Called out Vokkeg, as he jogged over with a look of concern.

"Hey, Elemental Sages!" Exclaimed Kuro's voice into my head, causing me to jump in alarm, Bell and Vokkeg looking startled too, before he continued, "The barrier surrounding Idyll is gone! I think this is it, he's finally attacking, keep your guard-!"

"Found you. You three shall be the first to fall by my hand," Suddenly came a voice from above us, before Kuro could finish his warning.

I quickly reacted and sprang back, as I slashed my spear across in the direction that the voice came from, sending out a slicing shockwave towards the figure floating in the sky above, who teleported out of the way, slightly to the left of his current position, in order to avoid it.

"Uh, Kuro...he's here," I informed him through the telepathic link grimly.

"Got it, hold on for just a little while!" Came the response.

"That weapon is troublesome...as are the four others like it, destroying them will be quite difficult, even with Divine Magic," Remarked Samsara with a frown, as he slowly descended to the ground.

His body was all-white, bulky and tall, standing at three meters high. It didn't have a mouth or a nose, only two slit-like red spots for eyes. Floating above his head, was a golden halo that was tinged black along the outline, and massive feathered wings that were a mix of white and black feathers.

As we warily kept our distance from him, Vokkeg cautiously put on a pair of Power Reader glasses and scanned him, his eyes widening in shock and alarm as he read Samsara's power level.

"This cannot be right...the reading is above 1,000,000!" Exclaimed Vokkeg in disbelief.

Wait, what? Does that mean we're hopelessly outmatched right now? This is, uh...this is bad.

"Ah, that is the device that Abyss created, yes? Quite an impressive tool...now, die," Samsara stated coldly, as he shot towards Vokkeg rapidly.

Holy-...my eyes can just about keep up with his speed, but my body can't! Suddenly, right before he closed in on Vokkeg, his body seemed to freeze in mid-air, his eyes widening slightly, before he got rapidly pulled backwards through the air, as if an invisible force was dragging him.

And that's when I saw Kuro, his palm pointing towards Samsara's back while he shot towards him with one of his blades drawn. And as Samsara began to glance back, Kuro immediately closed the distance by teleporting forward, while simultaneously slashing his blade across, horizontally slicing through Samsara's body, narrowly failing to cut him in half.

Kuro then quickly teleported to the ground, landing beside me, and a second later, the other eight suddenly appeared, as Samsara used Restoration Magic to undo the damage he'd sustained. Alright then, looks like this is it, the battle we've all been preparing for is about to begin...

Point-of-View: Shiro Blanc

"Shiro, about this conversation I'm hearing in my head right now...care to explain?" Inquired Minise icily, as she abruptly stopped.

Huh? What conver-...oh, crap. Damn it, Belia, you bitch.

"I, uh, have no idea what you're talking about," I responded, averting my gaze as I played dumb.

"Oh, is that so? So you're saying that you didn't ask Belia to 'help you out'? I see, I guess you've gotten bored of me, huh? I don't turn you on anymore, do I?" She replied, her lower lip quivering as her eyes glistened.

What? That's not true at all, she's way off! I swear, the next time I see Belia, I'm punching her in the face...

"No way, that is absolutely not the case! You're-...!" I began, before trailing off as she let out a stifled snort of laughter.

"Hehe, sorry about that, I just wanted to watch you squirm a bit, I'm not actually mad...just a tiny bit annoyed," She remarked with a teasing smirk, as she pulled on my cheek with a slight twist.

"Right, uh...I'm sorry," I responded sheepishly.

"Yeah, I can tell...and you know what, the fact that you panicked so much at the thought of me being mad and hurt because of you, that makes me really happy," She replied with a contented smile, as she rested her head on my chest, before adding wryly, "Though I have to say, this snake is kinda in the way."

She was referring to Kuro's Snow Serpent that was wrapped around my torso, so that he could teleport me at a moment's notice.

"I know, but I don't think it's a good idea to take it off," I replied with a sigh.

"About that...do you really have to be a part of this? I just....don't want you to get hurt, Shiro," She remarked with a worried look on her face.

"I mean, I probably will get hurt, given the circumstances...but I'll try not to die," I responded with a wistful smile.

"Idiot...at times like these, you're supposed to promise that you won't die," She mumbled with a pout, before exhaling as I poked her cheek.

"Yeah, well, I don't want to set off a death flag, so-," I began jokingly.

"Hey...don't even joke about that, make sure you come back no matter what, okay?"

Aw, man, this might be the happiest I've ever felt, she's so-...

"Hey, shithead Imposter, heads up! He's appeared, so I'm about to summon you!" Came an annoyingly familiar voice.

Huh? Wait, hold on!

"Minise, move, quickly! It's about to happen!" I exclaimed in alarm, lifting her off of me and standing up quickly, making sure that she wasn't touching me.

"You mean-...? Okay, good luck, Sh-...uh, you probably shouldn't go naked," She responded, as she flicked my...you know.

"Huh? Oh, crap, where are my...!?" I exclaimed, as I reached out to try and grab something to cover myself with, before my surroundings suddenly changed, "...clothes."

Well, this is awkward. Here were gathered all of the strongest beings in existence in this world, and here I was, buck naked, with nothing but a blanket in hand. Kill me...kill me, now...
