Chapter 192: SENTINEL ORDER.
Only the lifeforms who weren't corrupted by the Fiends and had Grade-7 and higher Innate Talent were recruited by the System, irrespective of their Race to oppose the Fiends.
The Sentinel Order wasn't as powerful as the top Bloodline Races that the Fiend Race managed to eradicate, but dealing with them was the most troublesome for the Fiends.
It had to do with the System Halo that every individual receives upon joining the Sentinel Order. Not to mention the abnormal defence provided by the System Halo, just the exaggerated recovery rate of Stamina, Health, and Spirit Energy made them the perfect counter to the massive armies under the control of the Fiend Race.
Although the Sentinel Order succeeded in obstructing the Fiends from blatantly taking over the Universe, their advances to free the vast territory occupied by the Fiend race were met with harsh resistance.
In a Great War that lasted a millennium, either side couldn't gain the upper hand and could only come to a reluctant truce.
Every once in a century, a Galactic Siege takes place among the new generation members from both sides to decide the ownership of the newly assimilated Galactic Clusters.
As billions of years passed, those battles turned into a tradition. A tradition that dictates the fate of several Galactic Clusters every passing century.
The lifeforms in the Galactic Clusters that fall under the Fiend Territory were subjected to cruel tyranny. They had to live in fear of being eventually made into livestock to raise the monsters for the Fiend Army.
Whereas those under Sentinel Order jurisdiction enjoyed relative peace and freedom.
The Universe was so vast that it took the System 13.7 billion years to assimilate 95% of the Universe. Around half the territory belonged to the Fiend Race, while the other half to the Sentinel Order.
Once the System completely assimilates with the Universe, the battles for territory will rise to new heights. With the entire Universe as a battlefield, bloodshed will see no end until one side triumphs over the other.
The Fiends and Sentinels were at odds with each other for billions of years, and the hatred they carried for one another was equally high. But no Fiend ever included the System in their hatred.
There are some basic rules that even the System couldn't disobey. Every living being in the assimilated Universe has access to the System, irrespective of their Race, including the Fiend Race.
Although their Race Bloodline has a substantial hand in making them overwhelmingly powerful, having access to the System and everything it could provide has an equal share in that.
The only way the Sentinels were able to oppose the Fiends was thanks to the additional benefits granted by the System.
If the reproduction rate of the Fiend Race wasn't at a low-end spectrum among the existing Races, even the Sentinels couldn't have succeeded in keeping them at bay, and the Universe would have been on the verge of being conquered by them.
Within the Fiend Race, those with high Bloodline purity didn't rely much on the Innate Talents, whilst those with subpar Bloodline purity relied on them.
However, a few individuals possessed both, and the Fiend Sovereign Tritos was a prime example of such a category.
While he didn't possess a Grade-10 Innate Talent like Ghora, he achieved something exceptional by cultivating his Unique Innate Talent mastery to Stage-10, a feat that barely a handful in the vast lifespan of the Universe ever managed to accomplish.
The 10th and final Innate Exclusive Skill, <Dream Clairvoyance>, was a reward worth the accomplishment.
It was even more valuable than his 9th Innate Exclusive Skill, <Dream Space>.
Not only does the Dream Space act as a Meeting spot but also a place to exchange inanimate objects, making Tritos an indispensable resource for the Fiend Race even when his abilities weren't effective against the Sentinels.
That was also how Lord Bazil was able to grant a drop of his blood to the monsters from each Trial Region without bringing any attention to the System.
But the ability, <Dream Clairvoyance>, made Tritos so much more valuable that only a few top brasses of the Fiend Race were aware of it.
The final Unique ability of Tritos allowed him to foresee the future to a certain extent in his dreams.
However, that ability came in conjunction with several limitations, and the future isn't exactly a fixed path and is subject to change trajectory from unimaginable occurrences.
Due to the existence of such an over-the-top ability, the Fiend Race could hinder most of Sentinel Order's plans in the last million years, procuring the lead it hadn't had against the other party in ages.
Every time someone awakens a Grade-10 Innate Talent, the Fiend Race would act with the prior knowledge they received from Tritos and eliminate them before they could grow and eventually become a stumbling block in their path.
Many such incidents took place in the past million years, and several lifeforms that obtained a Grade-10 Innate Talent lost their lives before they could even unleash their potential.
With the Sentinel Order starting to take extra measures to protect the newly emerging Grade-10 Innate Talent Users, such incidents turned scarce, but even then, they weren't non-existent.
The Zephyr Galactic Cluster Trial Program was in the face of encountering such an incident due to the presence of a Grade-10 Innate Talent User.
However, even someone like Tritos, who could peer into the future, learned about the Milky Way Galaxy just like every other life form in the Universe through the Live Performance Score available on the UltraNet.
Just after Ghora left Dream Space, Fiend Overlord Bazil enquired Tritos, "Did you find out why you weren't able to sense the emergence of a new Grade-10 Innate Talent User?"
Tritos sighed before answering, "My Lord, Although I couldn't put my finger on it, I can, for certain, say that something really odd is going on in the Milky Way Galaxy.
In the future I foresaw, there was no hint of Omega Chosen appearing for another 1000 years.
The emergence of this one is so sudden and unexpected that I suspect some external factors are in play. Just this occurrence alone once again diverted the timeline into a different path and everything we planned along with it."
