Chapter 32 - Lucky Yet Unlucky!
Chapter 32 - Lucky Yet Unlucky!
According to the records that MJ collected, he had been through many accidents throughout his life as a victim. Even though he was injured in most of them, he managed to survive every time.
To be precise, Dante was the luckiest person I have ever heard since he could somehow live even from a deadly life-threatening situation.
But the reason for me using the word 'Unlucky' was because he went through a lot of discrimination his entire life as everyone around him treated him as a harbinger of bad fortune.
I had MJ show me all the CCTV footage that recorded the accidents around Dante. At first, it looked like he brings bad luck wherever he goes. But when I went through all of them, I found a pattern that contradicted everyone's view.
To confirm it, I asked MJ to pull out all the footage recordings that had Dante before a few moments of every accident.
Just then, MJ notified me that my brother woke up.
So, I entered the bedroom and looked at my brother, who didn't have his usual calm and collected expression as he rubbed his eyes that were wide open from the shock after realising that there was not a single injury on his body.
When he saw me standing at the room entrance, he didn't say a word, but his confused eyes peered at me for answers.
But soon, the silence in the room was replaced with Kay's stomach rumbles. That was his lean body craving for food due to the quick improvement in Vitality Attribute.
Against all the odds, my brother saved our enterprise from bankruptcy. He even brought it to the verge of becoming a medium-sized enterprise. If not for the 'Quadnite' Conglomerate and its associated large-sized companies suppressing our Enterprise, it would have at least become a large-sized enterprise again.
With how calm and calculative my brother usually was, I had confidence that he could handle the information about the System rationally.
Since I intend to use the sap of <High Vitality Fruit> to cure my sibling's disabilities, I will eventually have to tell them the truth.
So, I said that I would explain everything to him and asked my brother to join me for lunch after taking a shower to clean himself from all the leftover bloodstains on his body.
He nodded without any further queries and went for a shower. Meanwhile, I went to the kitchen and unpacked the food items that I ordered from online food service for our lunch.
Soon Kay arrived, and together we sat in the chairs beside the dining table, and before I could say something, he began to eat food as fast as he could.
Then, the main entrance door opened. Our sister Qew entered the house as she controlled her electric wheelchair with 'Esha' escorting by the side.
'Esha' was her female security guard. She was 29 years old with wavy black hair, emerald eyes, tan skin and a cold demeanour that didn't match her friendly appearance.
She has been a part of our family's security for the past 7 years.
Her mentor was our family's Chief of security Uncle Aadrik, who died while saving my grandfather. When we went near bankruptcy, most of the security personnel left us, but only a few stayed behind like 'Esha.'
Qew then moved towards the dining table and glared at Kay as she impatiently tapped her finger on the wheelchair for a few seconds and huffed, "Little brat! You didn't even say a word to me before coming to our big brother's house, and why are you ignoring me and eating food like you are starving for days?"
She continued to scold Kay left, and right and Kay responded, "Qew, let me eat peacefully. I haven't eaten since yesterday."
Then Qew squinched her eyes at Kay as if she was expecting something from him.
Kay sighed, "Big Sister, Please let me eat in peace."
Only when Kay called her 'Big Sister' did she finally stop her nagging, and a broad smile formed on her face. I shook my head as it was a usual sight for me.
She then turned towards me and asked, "Big Brother, After you guys have lunch, let's binge-watch movies; I prepared a collection of recent movies that received higher ratings from me."
I promptly rejected her idea, "That's for another day. Today I already have a different plan for all of us. But before I mention any of that, both of you need to listen to a story."
Qew only acts spoiled when she was with us or infront of our parents. But to others she was cold. In a way her mentality was close to mine.
I decided to tell her about the System and Trial World and my brother as I trust both of them with my life.
Before that, I asked Qew's personal security guard 'Esha' to wait outside in the car for a while.
Even though she was trustworthy, I didn't include her in the conversation about the System.
Soon Esha left the house, and since Qew loves to read fantasy novels, I began to tell them about what happened to me in the Trial World in the form of a story.
If I said that it really happened to me, Qew would be asking many questions in between. Most probably, she wouldn't believe me until I show her my abilities.
In the story, I didn't mention the details of my Innate Talent and my near-death experience. Unlike Kay, who listened to the story with a stern expression, Qew enjoyed the story.
Once the story ended, she said excitedly, "Brother, I didn't know you are interested in reading fantasy novels. Anyway, quickly tell me the name of this novel; I will read it myself."
I asked Qew, "Well if I tell you that this is not just a story but something real, would you believe me?"
She replied with a proud smile, "If such a thing were real, all fantasy novel readers like me would be the first to mentally adjust to the new reality in the story you just said."
"Then adjust to this," then I had MJ to appear out of thin air.
He floated in front of Qew and greeted her, fluently, "Nice to meet you, Miss Qew."
"Kyaah! Who is this baby genie and...and why does he look like your childhood self? Ah! Don't tell me…."
With her abnormal thought processing power, it didn't take long for her to figure out as she reminded herself of the story where MC's personal soul A.I looked exactly like his younger self.
When she looked at me for confirmation, I nodded and brought out the small bottle sap of <High Vitality Fruit> from my pocket.
"Qew, with this, your paraplegia can be healed, and you don't need an electric wheelchair anymore."
The room turned silent, and a few tears rolled down Qew's cheek from the possibility that she can be healed.
I patted her head and smiled, "Why is my Little Sister crying?"
Qew retaliated while wiping her tears, "Uuu...uuu, why are you calling me little, when I was born just 5 minutes after you."
With her quirky reply, I laughed heartily. Meanwhile, Kay contemplated the various applications and possibilities of the upcoming new reality.
While I had my lunch, I gave both of them time to process the information, and for all their queries about Trial World and the System, I had MJ to clarify them.
To my surprise, when my sister asked MJ if she could join the Trial Program, I learned that MJ could access the System's information about the list of potential candidates chosen for the upcoming Beta Program and Gamma Program.
My siblings were not among those potential candidates in either of the beta and Gamma Programs, from what MJ said. The primary reason for that was their weak physical conditions.
Even though MJ couldn't change the already selected candidates, he could estimate that as long as my siblings get cured of their physical conditions, their names would be added to the list of potential candidates for the Beta Program.
MJ mentioned that it wouldn't be hard for me to find various Spirit fruits that increase their Attribute Stats. When my siblings heard MJ say that, both of them insisted that they wanted to join the Beta Program.
After giving it a thought, I agreed to help them by procuring more Spirit Fruits to raise their Attribute Stats since I want them to become strong enough to handle themselves when the Earth changes after the Trial Program.
After that, I had them ingest a drop of the sap from <High Vitality Fruit> every hour. Meanwhile, I trained my second Minor Mastery, <Longsword Mastery> as it was only in Lv.1.
