Edge of the Apocalypse

Chapter 1095

Chapter 1095: Absolute Shadow (1)

A gray-and-white rabbit flew past the ground. It stopped under the bushes. There was a fork in the road ahead, and the rabbit hesitated. The red eyes looked around, and finally the rabbit chose the mountain path on the right. After a few rises and falls, it disappeared between the rocks.

Alan walked to the bush where the rabbit had stopped and pointed to the mountain road on the left. "This way," he said.

As he tracked the traces that might have been left behind by the Absolute Shadow, when he encountered a fork in the road that had no clue or was difficult to determine the direction, he would have people release the rabbit and choose to move in the opposite direction from the rabbit. At first, Gao Hu was very skeptical of this method, but after a few times, Alan found traces left behind by some wild beasts, dispelling Gao Hu's doubts.

Several of the traces are new and should have been left in the last day or two.

Walking along the road, Gao Hu couldn't help but ask, "Sir, how did you do it? These rabbits really seem to be able to help us find the Absolute Shadow."

"Every kind of life exists in the world with its own meaning, such as rabbits. This kind of animal was very weak, but such a weak life had never existed before. It's not unreasonable for them to reproduce so far, Gao Hu. Rabbits are very sensitive to natural enemies. They do not have the keen sense of smell of hounds, but they have their own way of survival. These little fellows knew how to seek good fortune and avoid evil. In places where there was no choice, choosing the opposite direction from them would often yield results. "Because those are the places where rabbits think there's danger, don't you understand?" Ellen wouldn't tell the bearded man that when he lived on the surface, he relied on rabbits to find dangerous but delicious beasts.

It was a rare feast for Alan as a child.

The sun rises and the sky rises.

Alan appeared on a gentle slope. The ground on the stone slope was rough, and there were a few stubborn weeds growing on it. Ellen hid behind a bush of weeds and reached out to gently separate the bushes from each other. His line of sight fell down the slope, which was a natural platform. There was a steep cliff ahead, a mountain path leading to the top of the slope, and a cave on the left. There were five or six wild wolves at the entrance of the cave. One of them was the largest, had one eye, and his hair was pitch black and shiny. He was lying lazily on the ground, basking in the sun, while the other wild wolves were playing beside him. A pitiful rabbit fell into the wolf pack's encirclement, but the wolf was not in a hurry to bite it to death, only teasing the rabbit to run around.

They're like cave guards.

"Jue Ying is in there?"

"I don't know, but it's worth exploring." Alan looked at Big Beard and said, "But we have to get rid of the guards first."

Gao Hu picked up his axe and said, "Look at me!" Then, he jumped down the slope. The wolves playing with the rabbits below were shocked and immediately dispersed. The big black wolf also stood up fiercely, its fur standing upright. It clenched its teeth and let out a series of threatening growls at Gao Hu who suddenly appeared. Without the command of the leader-like Black Wolf, the other five wild wolves had already pounced towards Big Beard. josei

This was simply an unequal battle. Even though the wolves were incomparably ferocious, they were no match for experts like Gao Hu. Gao Hu didn't even need to erupt with Origin Energy. Just relying on his basic strength, he was able to defeat the wild wolf without being able to retaliate. The five wild wolves were quickly killed by Gao Hu. The remaining black wolf saw that the situation was wrong and turned around to flee into the cave. Suddenly, a bolt of black lightning pierced through the air and nailed into the black wolf's body. It was Fares' black ice.

Black Ice nailed the wolf to death, and the wolf corpse quickly froze. Fares jumped onto the platform and went to the wolf corpse to draw his spear. The wolf corpse immediately shattered to the ground. Gao Hu was speechless. After getting along with Alan and the others, Big Beard had already seen all kinds of extraordinary weapons in Alan's hands.

Laura stood at the entrance of the cave with Xue Sha on her back. The wind blew from the cave lifted her hair. She turned to Alan and said, "There are even more powerful wild beasts in the cave."

"Then it seems that we have found the right place." Alan walked towards the entrance of the cave and gestured to Laura. Laura nodded and grabbed Adele. After Fares and the others entered the cave, they did not follow. Laura whispered a few words into Adele's ear. The latter nodded and the two left together.

The cave was not dim, and the sky shone down from the cracks in the rocks above, making the things in the cave faintly visible. The cave was very wide, and the deeper it went, the more spacious it became. The air in the cave was filled with a peculiar smell, and Alan soon discovered a goat that had been gnawed to the bone. The corpses of the goats were covered in flies, and there were many animal bones nearby. Gao Hu muttered, "So this is their kitchen."

Alan glanced at the goat. "But they obviously lack a good cook."

"There's light over there." Regis raised his hand and pointed to the left. There was a bright light, as if it was an exit.

At the same time, Diego climbed up a rock that stretched out of the mountain. He carefully placed the magic sniper rifle on it and looked at the cave where Alan and the others had entered. Diego smiled and said, "Alan, thank you so much, Alan. It looks like you've already found the Absolute Shadow for us. That's good, but our Highness Hawson can't hold back any longer."

He put down his sniper rifle, took out a mirror from under his armor, and shook it towards a hill opposite him. The mirror refracts the sunlight and becomes a simple signal. Soon, two flashes of light appeared from the top of the mountain. Diego knew that Hawson and the others had received the signal and started to move this way. All he had to do next was wait and guard the cave entrance. If Alan and the others were to return, Diego would be happy to give Alan some surprises.

However, just as he was about to lie down, an ear-piercing howl suddenly sounded from the mountain peak, like the shrill howl of a sea banshee. Diego's hair stood on end, his heart beating wildly, and his heart was filled with warning signs. He didn't even have time to carry his sniper rifle, so he decided to retreat. It was almost only after the tip of his foot left the ground that a spiral ripple instantly struck. In front of the ripple was a high-speed spinning Origin Energy Sniper Bullet, which easily blasted a hole in the ground! It was incredibly powerful. The rock Diego was lying on broke in the middle and fell off the cliff along with his sniper rifle.

"Damn it!" Diego cursed. His Magic Sniper Spear was a rare weapon, especially in places like Heaven Star. Diego had used this Magic Sniper Spear to kill many difficult people and accumulated a lot of military merits. But now, he didn't have time to be annoyed by the loss of the Magic Sniper Spear. A series of rough footsteps were approaching, and the heavy footsteps seemed to be stepping on his heart every step of the way.

Diego looked up and saw an unbelievable figure approaching at high speed from the left side of the mountain wall above his head. It was a woman. Diego believed that he wouldn't misjudge her. However, this woman had too many beast characteristics. Her beast pupils, leopard tail, and her pair of legs made her look more like an orc. However, as far as Diego knew, there were no creatures that matched this image even in the monster-packed Shadow Duchy.

At this moment, this wild woman dragged a dark red longsword and ran down the mountain wall at high speed in a manner that violated the laws of physics. Every step she took would cause large cracks to appear on the mountain wall. When she arrived at Diego's head, she leapt into the air and pointed down with her long sword, descending in an incomparably powerful posture. Diego immediately slid back. The woman had already smashed into the ground, stirring up a large amount of rubble. The sword in her hand jumped up and sliced out. The ground beneath the sword cracked and mud powder sprayed out from the crack. An invisible sword force smashed towards Diego.

Diego crossed his arms and squatted slightly. He bent his legs and put on a defensive posture. The sword energy smashed into his body and collided with Diego's protective body, Origin Energy, exploding with blazing flames. Diego nailed his feet to the ground, ploughed out two ravines and slid a few meters away before stopping. He cursed, "It hurts," but he didn't dare to neglect. He pulled out two short sticks from behind his waist and twisted them together. The iron rod stretched out from both sides and raised a triangular spear head from each end of the rod. Diego had a double-headed combat spear in his hand.

Laura pursed her lips and smiled. She lowered her blood. She suddenly exerted her strength and rushed towards Diego again in a rough and wild manner. Diego pointed his gun at Laura's noodle door. The latter arched her shoulders and opened the gun, not caring about the tip of the gun making an incision in her shoulder in the slightest. Sha Xue swept out, and the sword wind roared like thunder. Diego immediately leaned back, his head almost touching the ground. Seeing Sha Xue and an afterimage flash past in front of his eyes, Diego's forehead was covered in sweat.

When the wind blew again, Laura kicked him. Diego didn't have time to pull back his gun, so he could only use one hand. With a muffled bang, he was kicked away by Laura. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Diego rolled twice on the ground and bounced up, putting on an offensive posture. Suddenly, the mountains roared again, and Diego's expression finally changed. "Damn, it's unfair for two to hit one of me!"

In response, a spiral ripple descended from the sky. At the center of the ripple, an Origin Energy Sniper Bomb spun wildly. Diego put away his gun and slipped back. The sniper bullet blew a big hole in his foot. Diego did not want to fight and dragged his gun and ran away. With Laura no longer so easy to defend and Adele constantly looking for opportunities to snipe, Diego really did not have the interest to continue fighting.

Of course, Laura didn't intend to let him go just like that. She managed to lure him out with great difficulty. Laura didn't have the habit of letting go of her prey. She immediately dragged her sword and chased after him.

At the same time that Adele and the others attacked, Alan and the others drilled out of the cave. Outside the cave was a valley, and they were at the bottom of the valley. Rocks were everywhere, drafts of grass were everywhere, and towering peaks blocked the sunlight, leaving behind large shadows in the valley. The valley was strangely quiet. Gao Hu wanted to say something, but Alan stretched out a finger and shook his head. Suddenly, a wind blew in the valley, and countless long grasses were blown into the air. Suddenly, a black shadow pounced on Ellen amidst the flying draft grass. Alan's gaze was immediately filled with white teeth, and that huge mouth was big enough to bite off the upper half of his body.

He bent down, his upper body almost parallel to the ground, bouncing forward like this. At the same time, Red King drew his scabbard and turned into a streak of red lightning that crisscrossed the black shadow, erasing a sliver of sparks.
