Edge of the Apocalypse

Chapter 1148

Chapter 1148: Steel Beast (1)

"It's not far ahead, the last supply point. We can rest there for a while and then leave the mountains in one breath."

A Dark Blade Warrior whispered. He lowered his voice, and it wasn't hard to hear the excitement in his tone.

The journey of death is finally coming to an end.

The supply point was a marked cave, concealed by shrubs and stones. Hubble might have left it out if he hadn't known beforehand. The Dark Blade Warriors were very skilled in camouflage techniques. Obviously, Belmord had trained them in this area.

He removed a portion of the camouflage and revealed a dark hole. The Dark Blade Warrior was about to sneak in. Hubble reached out and pulled the Warrior behind him. Hubble maintained his vigilance and entered the cave. Only after confirming that there was no danger in the cave did Gatu inform the two warriors to enter. They rearranged their camouflage. The cave was pitch black, and then there was a faint glow. The moon shone through the cracks in the mountains. It wasn't bright, but it was enough to see.

Hubble was fine, but the two Dark Blade Warriors were already exhausted. One of them walked into the depths of the cave, removed a few stones, raised the camouflaged ground with a dagger, and picked up a box from inside. Opening the box, there is ready water and food in it. There were a total of seven or eight supplies, but now that there were only three left, they looked exceptionally abundant, but they also had an indescribable feeling.

The warrior divided the food into three parts. Hubble only took water to drink, and the other two, after eating dry meat and water in moderation, closed their eyes and rested for time to recover their strength.

Moments later, Hubble heard the sound of two people breathing. The two of them had already entered a state of light sleep. If one looked carefully, one would find that their faces were still very young. There was still a hint of lingering youthfulness in their eyes. Their peers might be farmers, fishermen, or other professions. But they chose the most dangerous and darkest undertaking.

Even Hubble knew that spies like Dark Blade could only live in the darkness, and their identities would never be revealed. Even if they died miserably one day, their closest relatives would not know why these people died. When they chose to join Dark Blade, they were already dead.

Hubble shook his head, wondering when he had become so "sentimental". He suspected that he had stayed with humans for too long. This race looked rather weak, but after staying with them for a long time, Hubble had to admit that beneath the weak appearance of humans, there was tenacity that was not inferior to anyone else. Perhaps this was the reason why this young race was able to shine brightly in the many lifeforms of the universe. They were always patiently waiting for the opportunity to arrive and erupted with unimaginable energy at the right time.

"Actually, these guys are not bad either. At the very least, their drinks are not bad." Hubble had missed the barrels that were about the same height as him, and he decided to go back and sleep in the wine.

Then he heard a strange sound.

Hubble immediately woke up the two warriors. The moment he opened his eyes, fear flashed across the warriors' faces. Then, he calmed down. Hubble pointed out without saying anything, but the soldier knew what he meant. One of them lay on the ground and pressed his ears to the ground. After a while, he stood up and nodded.

The Gatu walked into the cave and used his fingers to make a small hole in the bush. Through this small hole, one could see that there was no one on the mountain path that was crisscrossed by shadows. Hubble shifted his gaze to the left and right, finally stopping in the shadow of a mountain wall on the left. Although Hubble couldn't see anything, he could feel the shadow twisting. Suddenly, a pale face emerged from the shadows without warning. It was the face of a female human with a strange smile on its face.

Then the face twisted, and when the two scarlet eyes rolled up, the entire face turned into mottled gray dots. With his flat head raised like a cobra, a Ghanaian spat out a forked tongue and let out a rhythmic hiss. He then descended from the top of the mountain wall and appeared inch by inch under the moonlight. The Garner's snake-like body was covered with light green armor to protect their bare scaleless bodies. They didn't have hands or feet, but they had a pair of feet on each side of their body. These centipede-like limbs allowed the Jana to walk freely on most of the terrain. Neither the steep mountains nor the complicated jungle were able to stop them. Apart from the sea, there was almost no environment that could stop the Canadians from advancing.

Gatu narrowed his eyes when he saw the Jana sentinel. He made a wait gesture to the two soldiers behind him and wiped his neck again. The Dark Blade Warrior nodded knowingly, knowing that Hubble was going to kill this sentry alone. Just as Hubble was about to charge out, another Ghanaian suddenly appeared. The rustling grew louder and louder, and Hubble finally scolded, "Damn, we've been fooled. The insects knew about this stronghold, and they were waiting for their prey to arrive at their door!"

Since he had already been discovered, Hubble naturally did not intend to stay in the cave and wait for death. He raised his thick leg and kicked it, sending the bushes and rocks flying with the explosive force. Hubble roared and ran out. The two Garner sentries were not willing to be outdone. They let out a low hiss and swiftly swam over. Just a few meters away from Hubble, the Ghanaians retracted and jumped into the air. They opened their mouths, revealing their sharp teeth that were scattered all over their mouths. The most commonly used method of attack was to wrap their body around their prey and tear apart their target's body with their teeth. However, these weren't their main means of attack. The Jana were a sinister and evil life. Their tail had sharp claws. Apart from injecting poison, the most important thing was that the claws were usually hidden in their bodies. Only at critical moments do they eject and pierce into their prey, and many unfamiliar Jana lives often die from their claws.

Unfortunately, Hubble knew them too well.

The people of Gatu grabbed a Ghanaian with their hands. With a push of his arms, he instantly ripped off the body of the Jia Na people. Another Ghanaian jumped onto Hubble and wrapped his body around him like a snake. After that, he drew hundreds of pairs of feet randomly, but he was only able to make a large number of shallow cuts on Hubble's rough skin. When he tried to bite Hubble, the Gatu clutched the Garner's mouth and upper and lower palates with both hands, and then shouted loudly, breaking his mouth apart.

He casually threw the Garner to the ground, and Hubble stomped on the sentry's head, causing it to explode. However, Hubble was not happy at all. In the shadows of the mountain ahead, more and more white faces appeared. They were already surrounded by the main forces of the Garner people.

"Come on, boys, it's time for us to go. Or do you guys want to stay and have a party with these bugs? Forgive me for not accompanying you." Hubble began to retreat.

A Dark Blade Warrior said, "Leaving the mountains, the Absolute Shadow Heights are unobstructed. It's very difficult for us to get rid of these outsiders in the plains." josei

"So you mean to borrow the environment here to defend and wait for Belmord to come back?" Hubble shook his head. "The idea is worse. These bugs can move almost anywhere, and the environment in the mountains blocks our view. There are too many shadows and caves for them to launch a surprise attack. Staying in the mountains may be more dangerous than staying in the plains."

"But" The warrior wanted to say something else, but the ground suddenly trembled and sand sprayed out from the ground. The mountain cracked and arched, winding its way like an earth dragon. The earth dragon quickly arrived at the feet of Hubble and the others. The people of Gatu cursed and pulled the closest warrior to the side. Just as he was about to catch another person, the earth dragon exploded and a thick black shadow rushed out from the ground.

The dark-bladed warrior rushed up about ten meters into the air. Something in the shadows swept over, and Hubble subconsciously raised his arm and bounced away. Only after he retreated ten meters did he see that it was a huge insect. It was more than ten meters tall, and its head was as big as a mountain. He opened his mouth and chewed on the Dark Blade Warrior. His miserable screams could be heard from above, and blood gushed out from behind him like a fountain.

He desperately wanted to crawl out of the giant mouth of the blood basin, but his body continued to slide down. In just a few breaths, only one arm remained in vain as he tried to catch something. As the giant bug's mouth twitched, the arm was bitten off, fell off, and fell to the ground.

Hubble narrowed his eyes and looked up at the giant bug and whispered a name, "Andreessen …"

After eating the Dark Blade Warrior, Predator Andreessen slowly lowered his head and stared at Hubble on the ground with his ferocious eyes. He was like a snake. Most of his body was coiled up on the ground, while a small part of his body was raised. Earlier, he had eaten mud and swallowed sand from underground and dug a tunnel that led directly to the feet of Hubble and the others. Originally, he wanted to chew all three of them in one bite, but Hubble was so alert that only one of them was eaten by Andreessen.

"Traitor, don't expect to leave Lagmar. Your flesh and blood are destined to be my food. If I were you, give up pointless resistance so I can make your death easier."

Hubble sneered, "I'd rather stew you into worm soup, I don't know how it tastes."

Anfey Lisen was immediately enraged. The insect opened its mouth and two palatal teeth split open from the left and right sides. It let out a strange hissing sound. The depths of Hubble's pupils lit up, and Origin Energy's aura soared. As his Qi continued to climb and stretch, the joints of his entire body began to shake. Hubble's skin flushed red, his blood vessels sprung up, his muscles swelled and proliferated, and his already tall body swelled once more. As the back of his head grew explosively red, a huge oval crystal floated up in front of his chest, and Hubble immediately emitted a dense killing intent. The intense killing intent caused the temperature of the surrounding space to plummet.

As bone spurs emerged from all over his body, a circle of dark lines appeared around the crystal before Hubble's change came to a halt. Andreessen's pupils shrank as he said in a low voice, "What's going on? I've never heard of such a change in Gatu!"

Of course, he would not know that this was the ability that Hubble obtained after becoming a follower.
