Chapter 860: Invitations
Zelena’s breath was robbed of her lung for as long as her eyes didn’t blink. Her dark eyes kept looking at the man in front of her with her hollowed mind. The strength, the speed, he had surpassed everything she thought he would reach in a span of time that was hardly conceivable even for the most talented of cultivators that she had met her entire life so far.
Baik slightly widened his eyes before his pupils began to hover. His feet froze as he gulped his saliva down. He might be the Wing of Leviathan, but even the dagger in his hand couldn’t tremble at the sight of Lyon.
Lorey was speechless like the rest of the party. Speed was something he was greatly lacking. His staff would be out of his hand if he were to fight Lyon in that distance before he could say a word out of his mouth.
Harmon, the great Body of Leviathan gulped as well. The power that Lyon had just shown was just a glimpse of a fraction of a second. Yet, the tremendous result didn’t end with Sword Prince laying on the floor with gruesome wounds, however, even the head of the Bahamut that was proudly shown to the public fell victim as well. There were a couple of deep cuts and one of them was across its eye.
Nise who was standing by Zelena had her lips gaped slightly. She had never seen someone smiling like a fool as if he did nothing but a cosmic joke. Perhaps he did, but the jester didn’t mess around with the result.
Baiyun had his eyes turned ghastly as he saw Bahamut’s head. His brows raised before he slowly darted his glance over at Sakya who was glaring at him.
“Fuck me, did you see that?!” Abaddon breaks out of the silence before looking at his master who seemed to forget how to blink, yet the latter answered.
“Uh….uh,” Di couldn’t wrap his mind over the result that was shown on his face. He had thoughts that Lyon would be powerful given the fact that he was the leader of those three monsters, however, he had no way of knowing that Lyon would be powerful enough to leave a severe mark on Bahamut’s head.
Farash’s gaped lips slowly turned into an alluring smirk.
“He, did he just say ‘sister-in-law’?” said one adventurer at the banquet before everyone gasped.
Zelena furrowed her brows as she heard the adventurers start talking about it under their arms.
“Huh, what’s wrong?” Lyon raised his brows with a smile. “You seem to be surprised just now, or is one of them bullying you? Come, come, tell your older brother, I can make Seraphim Cultivators plug their own wings if I wanted to. Come on then, don’t be shy hahaha! We’re a family.”
“Family? See, he said family!” whispered one of the adventurers loudly.
Zelena sighed, “It seems like she is right, you really are arrogant.”
“Hehe, you think so?” Lyon crossed his arms and laughed.
“She?! See, she said she!” whispered one of the adventurers loudly.
Tapping heels were heard before an alluring voice came, “Hmm, Zelena, you never tell me you have a big brother.”
Lyon’s ears twitched to heaven before he looked over and saw the blue lips were a breath away. “It’s a brother-in-law.”
“That makes it more challenging, don’t you think?” Farash wink.
“Is that so?” a silvery voice of a woman was heard before Farash looked over and saw a neck instead of a face. She had her eyes widened before looking up and saw yet another beautiful woman that was contrasted against her hair color.
The vibrant auburn red that was braided to a dragon. She was taller than her peers and her jawlines were also more defined. Her face was symmetrical and her eyes were as fiery as her lips.
“O-Oh? And who you might be?” Farash asked.
“Older sister, can’t you see the ring on her finger,” said Nise with a smile.
“Oh, my,” Farash chuckled coquettishly with her eyes closed, “Please, I’m not stepping over the line, now, am I?”
Cecile shrugged, “I’m just here to warn you, that if you give him food, he’ll bite.”
“That’s…” Lyon made a wry smile as he saw Cecile leave for the food on the table.
“Holy shit!” the White Crow exclaimed before he looked at the Sword Prince on the floor. “You’re fucked.”
The Sword Prince only saw a blur on White Crow’s face and constant ringing inside his eardrums. He no longer held his sword, he was clinging to his heartbeat to stay beating.
“Alright, someone take this guy out and help him out,” said the White Crow before he stood up and obnoxiously smirked at Baiyun. ( Bad luck eh? You’re too young for this kind of affair ) he turned and approached Lyon with a smile of a businessman.
“Tch!” Baiyun turned grim as Lyon was unexpectedly more than capable of having a seat in Guild Link based on his strength alone. He was perhaps of equal against the famously known Fang of Leviathan. It was out of his calculation.
Baiyun slightly bit his own thumb to pacify his anger. Sakya had already stepped in during his conversation, but he never expect that it was a warning instead of a sign to be a virtue.
“Lyon my dear lost brother!” said White Crow with a grin on his face. “It’s so good to see you.”
“Hey, come on now, at the very least have the decency to not lick my ass that early,” Lyon laughed out loud and petrified the atmosphere.
Every eye of the adventurer’s presents widened. They could see clearly that Baiyun had started beef with him, however, what crazy thought ran inside his head that he would start beef with White Crow as well. Unlike Baiyun, White Crow’s strength was not hidden at all.
“Hahahaha! I always love your jest!” laughed White Crow to the adventurers’ surprise.
“Hahaha, even though I only jest to you this one time? Hahahaha!”
“Hahahaha that’s right, that’s right! How stupid of me!” the White Crow laughed as he placed his hand on his head.
“You always are,” said Lyon,
The White Crow abruptly stopped his laugh before the tension in the atmosphere turned cold, “What?”
“Because only a fool can laugh so heartily, just like you and me, hahahaha!”
“Oh?! Hahahahaha!” White Crow laughed again.
Luna furrowed her brows in pure curiosity before she asked, “Is he insulting him, or is he making friends?”
Lumina who rubbed away the gloss on her lips with a fresh napkin answered, “I have no idea.”
“Hahaha, Lyon, how come I have never met you but we are so well connected without a sip of a drink, unbelievable,” White Crow shook his head with a smile. “I tell you what, as proof of this friendship, I will ask you to join my guild, with your strength, I think being a vice is not that hard to achieve, forget the fetching quest, slay a Bahamut, and you’re off to become my right-hand man.”
“He is checking Lyon,” Luna furrowed her brows.
“What?” Lumina raised her brows.
“Checking, like in a game of chess,” said Luna.
“Oh,” Lumina resumed eating.
“What will you answer, Lyon,” Luna muttered as she saw not the man she used to know. She saw the man that he used to be. The man that was so powerful that even Heaven and Hell would know if he resurfaced. A man that was so capable but his history remained hidden. There was so much to know, but she only know so little.
“Sometimes fate loves to play with him,” Kesya muttered.
Lyon smirked before the gala paused as a formidable voice of a woman was heard, “Are you, Cecile?”
Baiyun, Farash, Moris, and White Crow immediately furrowed their brows and turned their glance to Sakya.
“Hoh?” Cecile smirked after turning around with a glass in her hand. She looked at the Flame Guild’s leader with interest in her eyes. She took a little sip right in front of her before smirking once more, “Yes I am, Cecile Auburn, he did mention my name before though.”
Sakya gulped. ( This woman is not ordinary as well, is she? What tremendous aura exuding out of her stature alone! However, how is she so relaxed and more importantly, composed all the while declaring her presence? ).
Sakya looked up at her eyes before she asked, “Can you join my guild?”
All brows raised the moment the words crashed into their brains, even Di couldn’t help but be stunned by his own leader.
( W-What is she thinking? ) Abaddon had his lips twitching. ( If anything, she should at least try to invite Lyon, not his wife! ).
( Crap! It slipped my mind ) Farash furrowed her brows, “I need to talk to your wife for a minute, miss me~”
Lyon was amused but the words coming out of her next, kept the adventurers on their toes.
“Sister Cecile, why don’t you join my guild, instead, we can form a sisterhood together,” Farash smiled.
The crowd was stunned with gawks. The flame and water stood side by side in a clash of worthiness.
“Hmm~” Cecile smirked as she crossed one arm.
