Chapter 884: Lost Limbs
Selena furrowed her brows before darting her glance from the six-winged Seraphim Cultivator toward the direction in which Cecile and the rest had come forward.
“Zelena,” Selena called out. “No need to hide from me, you know you can’t hide, and who are the other three?”
Zelena revealed herself inside Selena’s peripheral vision before the others came out. Her dark eyes were a contrast against her sister’s ocean-blue ones. She kept her sword by her side, holding it with one hand.
Luna furrowed her brows, “How odd, I have this sense of familiar empress-like coming out of her.”
Lumina frowned as she sized up Selena from up to bottom. Her silver pupils shrunk in high alert as her cold blood froze. ( She is truly a dangerous woman, just like the stories around her ) she gulped.
Farash had her brows reached the ceiling as she looked at the two of them. ( How uncanny, she really does have a twin! ). She gulped at the sight of her. She was unlike any other woman she had met before. The thought that she would be in the ranks of her level brought her lips quivering. However, her excitement turned into curiosity the moment she hovered her glance toward the person that was held by the face of the tallest of the group.
( This is the being that hails from Paradise? ) thought Farash as she followed the other two along.
“Selena,” Zelena called before she took a quick glance at the Seraphim Cultivator. “You managed to beat him.”
“Oh, you’re wrong,” Cecile smiled, “She has every power to kill him, but I stopped her right before she would.”
“Why?” Zelena frowned.
“You can ask your sister yourself, after all, you both are twins,” Cecile laughed and she continued to laugh despite Selena sparing a glare.
Selena grunted before she looked over the other three, “So, who are you, people?”
“I-I’m Luna, I’m… well…” Luna had her shoulder freezing as Selena confronted her. Her eyes trembled before she hovered over to Cecile who gave her a nod. “I’m Lyon’s girlfriend.”
“What?” her voice sunk like the abyss before every lung around her failed to pump air.
“Hold it, Selena, you don’t want to face Lyon’s wrath, would you?” Cecile grabbed Selena’s shoulder before the dread atmosphere vanished.
Selena grunted before she pushed away her hand from her shoulder.
“Oof, that’s pretty harsh, we haven’t seen each other in a while,” Cecile smiled.
“You can’t keep darling in check,” said Selena frowning.
“Hey, hey, you don’t need to be mad at me,” Cecile shrugged. “I do the rite and summoned him perfectly, yet, you did the same too.”
“I was supposed to be the one to summon him, not you!” shouted Selena.
“No, you’re not! I’m his first wife, I have the very right to summon him first! Besides, did you forget? Whoever got the chance first, she shall summon him,” said Cecile.
“I was the first to summon darling!” Selena frowned.
“No, you’re not! Based on Lyon’s experience, he was chased by three different summoning lights before all three crashed on him altogether.”
“What?” Selena raised her brows. “So Maria summoned him too?”
“That’s most likely the case, no, that must be the case,” Cecile sighed.
“Are you kidding me, that’s too much of a coincidence to be true,” said Selena.
“Hey, don’t ask me, I gather the information in Nostria and they all saw three pillars of lights crashing right over the hinges of the balcony, poof there was Lyon, exposed naked,” Cecile shrugged.
Luna made a wry smile as she scratched her cheeks. She knew what had happened then.
“What?” Selena frowned to which Cecile shrugged once more.
( That’s some bizarre information, what do they mean by summoning him? I thought that only Summoning Ruby Stone is capable of summoning someone, but it seems like there was something else that I’m missing from the place ) thought Farash.
“That explains why he got randomly appeared in Nostria, but he got a good fate, I can’t imagine how foolish it would be if he came crashing down Paradise or inside Purgatory,” Cecile smiled. “He is always the lucky one.”
Selena grunted, “Then, who are the other two?”
“I’m Lumina,” said Lumina without adding another detail.
“Lumina? Where did I hear that from?” Lumina muttered.
“She is that person that Lyon always talked about,” Cecile added. “The dragon woman.”
“Ah, I see, so you’re that dragon woman. The little girl that he had met right after he dropped out from the Void Sword School.”
Lumina nodded with her arms crossed under her breast.
“Void Sword School?” Zelena raised her brows. “Wait, there was a school?”
“There was,” said Selena before she darted her glance toward the woman with blue lips. “Who are you?”
Farash presented herself neatly with her hands and gave out a fig-leaf gesture before bowing down once like a receptionist of a hotel welcoming an honored guest. She relaxed her throat and her tongue before she uttered words with the most pleasant voice she could ever oust.
“My name is Farash, I’m the Water Guild’s Guild Leader,” said Farash before smiling just the right amount to charm any sex.
Selena frowned before she looked at her twin, “I thought that I told you not to join any guild.”
“And I listened,” said Zelena as she furrowed her brows before darting over to Farash, “But she didn’t.”
“So she is an outsider?” asked Selena.
“Oh no, I’m a friend of your husband,” Farash smiled. “We are good friends.”
“Hoo?” Selena raised her chin. “A good friend, or are you just one of those hypergamy women?”
“Oh my, certainly I’m not, I’m quite offended that you say so,” said Farash before her eyes opened wide as her ears heard a slice of meat being cut. Blood splurt out and sprayed half of her face before one of her arms fell to a thud. She looked over to her right shoulder before realizing that her right arm was gone. Blood churned out as she took a cold breath with her lips twitching before she screamed.
“AAAAHHH!!” her shrieking wails met with echoes of the dust.
Luna had her goosebumps rose to the cold murderous aura that Selena exuded. The latter didn’t even flinch as her shadow loomed over the panting woman.
“W-Why?!?” Farash looked up to see Selena’s demeaning glance.
“I have slain over a thousand women like you,” said Selena. “My darling’s charm is inevitable since he is both strong and resourceful, however, he is quite forgiving and easily attached to beautiful women, thus it would be his downfall if he ever met a twisted woman.”
“T-Twisted?! D-Don’t you realize that you are the twisted one here?!”
Another blood splurts and another shriek followed. The mighty guild leader had her spine arched down as she lost both of her arms. She had never thought that her joining the group would end up losing two of her limbs in under a minute.
“That’s enough Selena,” said Cecile as she frowned.
Selena leered over her shoulder, “You’re protecting this woman?”
“She is just joining us out of her curiosity, no need to be so aggressive, was she meant to harm, I would have ended her right there and then, I don’t need to wait for your presence just to prove a point,” said Cecile.
“It’s that exact attitude that endangered him,” said Selena. “You are too forgiving just like Maria.
Cecile snorted a smile, “Perhaps her kindness rubbed off on me. ”
“Tch! Fine,” Selena withdrew her superiority before turning around. “Since you’re a guild leader, I suggest that you don’t embezzle yourself into this mess.”
Cecile made a chuckle, “What do you know, you do have a soft side.”
“And that side wouldn’t emerge again,” said Selena.
“Heh, whatever you say,” Cecile shrugged before she approached Farash.
“I told you what would happen, you’re lucky you’re still breathing,” said Cecile in her attempt to spray salt against her wound. “Assid will escort you back to Myriad Devils safe and sound, you shall not speak any word of this out to anyone. What you see, what you hear, and what you feel, are merely fake dramas, do you understand that? Because if you’re not, your cultivation journey ends here.”
Farash took a cold breath as her face was loomed over by Cecile’s shadow. “Yes! Yes! Yes! I understand! I understand! Please forgive me! I won’t try anything at all! I promise! I promise.”
Zelena shook her head as she watched the proud leader that swoons over many men pathetically begging for a leash of life. She made one mistake, and that mistake almost cost her her life.
“Assid,” Cecile called.
“At once, Empress Cecile.”
“I believe you can reattach your arms using whatever Myriad Devils have to offer right?” said Cecile with a smile. “It’s not that hard.”
Farash repeatedly nodded before she was escorted out from the rest’s sight.
Cecile dusted away her hands before putting her hands on her waist. She raised her brows. “Wait a minute, Selena?”
“Hm?” Selena raised her brows.
“Where is he?”
“… eh?”
