Chapter 890: Glimpse of The Past, Selena : Ghost Kingdom
“Your eyes are blue now,” Lyon snorted a smile. “Black hair and blue eyes, never thought it would be so devastatingly, beautiful.”
Selena didn’t utter a single word.
“Are you going to kill me now? Now that you are devoid of emotion?” Lyon asked before he smirked.
The woman in front of him vanished and Lyon closed his eyes. He slowly raised both of his arms as he heard splurting blood and the wails of the glorious throne room.
“F-Forgive me!” one wailed but his head was already on the floor.
“Eek!” the crown prince saw the horror and squeaked like a little girl. All the strands of his hair perked up as his feet started to run away with tails between them. He was panting and heard her mother screaming. He couldn’t blink as the king of the kingdom, his father, had also fallen.
The scene turned bloody no matter whether they were royal knights or mere humans for in the eyes of the void they were nothing.
The crown prince was tumbling away before his feet tripped over the carpet.
“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! No! No!” the crown prince recovered as fast as he could albeit pathetically. His saliva had turned dry and couldn’t gulp anymore. His clean throat was like a meal ready to be consumed. The hunter was coming.
“No, I can’t die like this! My fame! My riches! I’m supposed to inherit them! Fuck! Fuck! Crazy people!” the crown prince turned in haste and shifted to a new corridor. He looked at the window with no glass before jumping out without a second thought. The hard ground couldn’t be any softer as he landed. The breeze of the new wind greeted him but the cold breath that he took only propelled his fear to a new height.
He forced himself up and ran toward the nearest gate. However, his eyes widened open as he saw the lady he was escaping had just done killing the guards there. His feet stopped. His pupils trembled as he could hear his own heart beating. The woman who stood there had singlehandedly murdered the entire throne room. No king nor queen was left. There was only he as the sole royal bloodline. He knew that he was next.
“S-S-Selena, p-please, let’s talk things out okay?” his lips twitched as he knew tentatively that it won’t work. His fingers were twitching as he took steps back. There was nowhere else to run but to bypass the monster in human clothing in front of him.
“I don’t even know your name,” said Selena with a flat tone. She brandished her sword and got rid of the blood before she slowly approached the crown prince.
“Eek! No! Stay away!” the crown prince fell backward with his lips keeps uttering out words for mercy. “Listen! Listen! Now that you have killed my father, this kingdom is mine.”
The crown prince smiled as the shadow of her blade touched his feet.
“Listen for a second Selena! I-I can grant you all the wishes that you want! Everything! Your school, that’s right, your school, I can grant not only protection but also aid! Financial aid! All the latest swords, runes, and scrolls! Everything you can think of! Think about the future of the school! Look at the bigger picture!” the crown prince smiled before he saw the woman taking another step.
“Please! Please! If you kill me now, you would make a huge enemy for a petty reason! My kingdom has a lot of allies, they are coming to us now as we speak! If you let me live, I can avert the danger that you caused by simply, wearing the crown.”
The crown prince smiled before his pupils shrunk as the woman already stood behind him.
“Abyss Punishment,” muttered Selena before the prince wailed before his body was butchered into nothingness, not leaving a trace, not even blood.
She vanished from the spot and left the grasses wondering. She was rushing toward the throne room. Through the double doors. Passed the numerous failed knights before finding the man had his eyes closed forming a T-pose. She tightened the sword in her hand and aimed for his chest.
( Oh this one is going to be a pain ) thought Lyon before he opened his eyes and gave her a smile. He took a step forward before embracing the woman in front of him.
Selena had her brows raised to the ceiling as she could hear his heartbeat beating against her ears. Her lips parted as the scene stilled.
Lyon’s smiled as he gently stroked her hair before his brows twitched. A thousand cuts wrecked opened his shoulder and his back and blood splurted out.
“Selena, do you know my name?”
“Your name is Lyon.”
“That’s right, do you know who I am?” blood escaped out the edges of his mouth but she remained her smile.
“Your name is Lyon.”
Lyon sighed, “I know, you just told me that you know my name.”
“Then why would you ask once more?” Selena frowned.
“Gotcha,” Lyon smirked. “There is still indeed an emotion inside you, just faint.”
“Hmm,” Selena grunted.
“Do you know why you haven’t pushed me away yet?” Lyon asked.
“Because you hugged me.”
Both of them heard a lot of footsteps rushing toward the throne room. The cultivators of the kingdom started to witch hunt toward the kingdom before all of them caught the scene.
“Ah?!” all of them gasped in horror. One of them puked before starting a domino effect. The beautiful throne room had turned bloody before twilight even approached. All knights were dead no matter what rank they were.
“L-L-Look,” the cultivator pointed out the head of the queen before they caught Lyon’s sharp gaze.
Lyon twitched his brows before sending one of them flying away.
“Aaahh!” his voice echoed into the sky before crashing against one of the buildings in the kingdom.
The cultivators immediately had their intention smudged to the ground. That one display of an act shrouded their mind in fear. They all rushed fleeing the moment they got their feet working. All of them didn’t dare a single second to turn back. They all rushed out toward the gate, leaving the kingdom empty.
Now the kingdom was a ghost kingdom. Not even tumbleweeds were there. The glorious place had no inhibitors, there were only two beings currently inside the throne room. The man was hugging the woman. The woman’s hand was hugging her sword. Her eyes were vacant of emotion even when both of them shared history together.
“Do you have the answer?” asked Lyon, as he looked at running cultivators turned into a dot.
“I don’t know, I think I love you once, but that feeling is gone,” answered Selena.
“Then, do you care to find out?” Lyon asked with a smile.
“How?” Selena asked before her shoulders were pushed to a distance where she could see his bloodied face. She merely blinked at the sight.
“The void is a powerful thing, remember it’s a thing, you should use the thing not the other way around,” answered Lyon with a smile despite being blood-drenched from his temple down to his jaw. “Emotion is also a powerful thing, like this one.”
Lyon leaned forward before letting his lips crash against hers. He closed his eyes and she didn’t, not even a raise of her brows.
( I feel nothing… ) thought Selena before her heart thumped. Her eyes opened wide ( What was that? ).
Lyon frowned ( It didn’t work? Damn it! Those fairytales lie to me! ). He let go of her lips before opening his eyes. His eyes widened for a second before his lips turned into a smirk. “Heh, It did work after all.”
“What work?” Selena asked.
“Feel your cheeks,” asked Lyon.
“Hm?” she raised her left hand and touched her cheeks. Her brows raised the moment her finger felt something wet and warm.
“You’re crying, Selena,” said Lyon with a smile.
“Why?” asked Selena. “I feel nothing toward you, I feel—!!”
( I hope this one work! ) thought Lyon before he kissed her again this time forcefully. She took a few steps back but she didn’t resist. Her swords let go of her sword and fell to twang against the floor.
Meanwhile, on the other end of the kingdom. A beautiful woman with auburn hair and one tall teen kid.
“Ehm, older sister Cecile, I-I think you should go back to the inn,” said the teen.
“Shut up Graham!” said Cecile before putting down the half-giant into submission.
Graham gulped. ( Uh-oh she is really scary when she is mad, damn Kesya, you just have to leave me here with her! What is wrong with Master though, why is he risking older sister Cecile’s wrath over a woman? I have no idea what is his train of thought, I mean look at my older sister Cecile here, she is ready to choke a Leviathan with her bare hand!) Graham tightened his upper lips.
Cecile had her arms crossed as she pouted her mouth. Her finger was tapping her arm as she furrowed her brows looking at the castle.
