CHAPTER 116
Andromeda's eyes fluttered open gradually, while her brain tried to think of all the possibilities of who the visitor could be.
She had her sheer amount of guesses including that of Xie Tian or Gu Jun.
She did not even wish to think it would be Liu Xueyi as she did not want her mind to be so hopeful when indeed it was him she really wanted deep down.
To Andromeda, however, he must have felt at one time that she was lost.
The thought crossed her mind when she first had mentioned who knew what lies were out there and Liu Xueyi did not side her but instead said he felt they were true!
Thinking about it now, she felt something clutch at her heart, tightening around it as she found it hard to breathe.
Her eyes blinked in confusion while she clutched harder against her chest, fighting against her brain and lungs to work.
She knew she needed to breathe but all of a sudden that singular respiratory natural activity felt completely foreign to her.
p
It went on for some seconds more with her fighting silently on with the desperate and deceitful voices in her head.
It was brief but soon, she paved her way slowly to the sink and turned the tap head all the while struggling to breathe.
The second the water touched her face, she felt a certain shock wade into her, pulling her mind back from the brink of collapse.
It did not take long for her to actually regain her senses and her body worked on its own, breathing.
She waited a moment before washing her face and fanning it with her fingers.
Meanwhile, the person at the door refused to leave and kept on ringing her door bell.
Seeing as it seems like trouble, Andromeda knew she was going to have to deal with it sooner or later.
Finally, she decided to get it over with.
God help her if it was her friends, she planned on chasing them away as she did not want any seeing her in such a state.
Hurriedly, she brushed her golden blonde hair back, wetting it with her fingers and wiped her face clean with a kitchen napkin before walking away.
By the time she reached the door, she took in a deep breath, arranging her light blue tank top and jean-fitted shorts before opening it for her disturbing visitor.
Her eyes went wide for a moment.
Who she saw was one she had least and never expected to see on her doorstep but yet, secretly wanted.
For a minute there, she stood still, eyes fixated on him as her heart thudded loudly against her eardrums.
Liu Xueyi on the other hand could not believe how swollen her eyes became and how it was still obviously teary when he laid eyes on her.
His heart clenched so much at the drained and pained sight of the girl he had come to love.
"Andy."
That was it.
That was all it took to break her backbone.
She was holding it in when she saw him even though her vision blurred with each passing second.
She could not begin to wonder what thought ran through his mind.
Was he disappointed or not? Was he happy seeing her or not?
Did his eyes hold pain for her out of care or was it out of pity?
One could not blame her too much as this was new and she was confused.
The other's opinion did not matter much. What mattered most to her was none other than that of the man standing before her.
And hearing him call her name with such a deep concerned filled voice, she let the tears spill-free.
Liu Xueyi bridged the gap between them and quickly enveloped her in a tight big hug, cradling her head in a comforting manner.
Sob after sob came out of her but Andromeda was still not done!
"Let it out, love. Let it out," he soothed her calmly.
She nodded into his embrace and cried on his shirt, leaving it covered in her wet tears.
From the look of things and the bag under his eyes, she could tell he had barely slept and now her problem was disturbing him.
She felt guilty to have troubled him in this way and backed away from the hug to look him in the eyes.
Drawing in her nostrils in the most unprofessional manner, the young lady could not be bothered about what anyone thought.
"Liu Xueyi."
"I hate to see you cry, Andy," he relayed his emotions calmly. "I hate it with every single gut in my soul," he confessed without thinking.
"Xueyi."
"And no matter what anyone does or says to you, it's not going to change the way I see you."
"Liu Xue…"
Before she got the chance to spill out his name from her swollen lips due to all the biting she had done in regret, he pulled her head in, holding her face as he crashed his lips on hers.
Her eyes opened a notch but as soon as they did, she shut them and welcomed his kiss.
Unlike before when their kiss was hurried or even the occasional calm, this one in comparison was much calmer in a way that it soothed her ache and pain.
At first, it was normal, but soon her mind was flooded back with the sweet kisses of the stranger that night when they fell to the ground.
'I love you, Andromeda. With all my heart, I love you.'
While he could not yet bring himself to tell her those words and the truth, he poured it all into that gentle kiss.
There they stood at the doorway, with tears falling freely from her closed eyelids and lips locked in a well-known waltz as their hearts melted as one.
By the time they pulled back, his eyes twinkled in their sockets watching her stare into them, yearning so much for more of his comfort.
"I am so sorry, love. So sorry for all the hurt I have caused you." His voice almost cracked as he gently spoke.
She creased her brows, trying to make sense as to why he would apologize when all of this wasn't his fault by any chance.
Sensing her confusion, his lips pulled back into a tight-lipped smile before he eased her worries.
"You work for me and thus, you became a target."
"It has nothing to do with you, Liu Xueyi."
"It has everything to do with me. Wu Bai may be jealous and thus he could make you a target."
"We know it is more than that, right. I was his ex-fiance," Andromeda corrected.
"And I have you and also took his company's secret."
He winked at her knowingly but did not utter a word of explanation for his sentence.
"Let's go in, okay. I do not want my best employee to be tired."
Nodding her head, both of them walked inside, closing the door behind them.
He led her to the couch and sat down, pulling her by the hand to sit beside him.
He wasted no time assuming a comfortable position, pulling her body down to rest her head on his chest.
"I have had it all taken down and cleared from the internet," he informed her.
"Thanks, but it is already on their minds and I bet some even have it in their phones."
"True but no one would try to do you harm and I would see how those files can be corrupted or altered if it is possible. I would do anything to clear this up."
"You already being here is enough for me."
"Sure."
"Although, I wonder. Do you hate me?"
