Chapter 315 Another Plan 2

CHAPTER 315
"Now what?" she grumbled and looked at her son.
"People would talk, no matter what. You should be used to it by now."
"There is no getting used to such especially when you know you would do better." She turned on her seat so she was now facing her son. "Why haven't you gotten through to her?"
"Who? Andromeda Kai?"
"Yes, your girlfriend."
Had Sun Yichen been drinking anything, he was sure he would spray every content in his mouth out.
Never would he think his mother would utter that kind of words to anyone let alone him.
With eyes as wide as a monkey facing a banana, Sun Yichen swallowed hard and cleared his throat.
"You think I do not know your delay is a result of the fact that you love her?"
"That is not it, mother."
"So, you are denying that you love her then?" Su Mei questioned, not giving him the opportunity to deny or cook up anything.
He was no fool to understand the ways of his mother.
Whatever decision he made was going to have good repercussions. In order to make his decisions, he had to be careful when it came to the Sun family.
"Answer me, yes, or no?"
But then, his mother was not giving him the opportunity he needed.
"No," he said convincingly.
The smile warmed her eyes, giving off a predatory vibe. All traces of the weak woman she tried to portray as one in a millisecond.
"Then I can go on with my plans. Kidnap her, torture her or use her to get what I need from Liu Xueyi."
"What?"
"You heard me, well son. Either that or threaten her with a family member. Perhaps her dad is the last true family member she has. If so, she has no choice but to do the needful. Brilliant right?"
Immediately he saw the witchy side of his mother come alive All this while she was here with him, she acted like a changed person.
Whereas her plan was set in stone long before coming to him.
All she needed to know was the fact that he did not have any feelings for her. That could be seen as Su Mei's last shred of patience and mercy.
"Fuck that mum, I bloody love her," he enunciated before she got the wrong idea and decided to hurt Andromeda.
"But you said no just now. I do not believe you. You are only saying these words to prevent me from doing anything to her."
"Yes."
"I see. You do not hide it."
"Because I love her and I do not want you hurting her mum."
"You denied it at first."
"Yes, because it is silly. I am in love with someone who loves another man. And a person we wish to do business with."
"Is that why you want to lift the industry yourself without them?"
"Yes and no. I hate the fact that they feel we need them."
"But we do need them," she sighed. "And I hate that too."
"Glad we are on the same page. However, this has nothing to do with Andromeda," he reminded her.
"It does. Wasn't she the one who angered Jungyi that made him act up and come into disfavour with Liu Xueyi?"
"No."
"Stop protecting her."
"I am doing no such thing. Brother had it in for himself when he tried fighting Liu Xueyi's woman."
"Oh, so now you agree she belongs to him."
"I never said she doesn't. I am just simply in love with her. Impressing her is out of it but should I rise on my own, it would prove to her, I am better than Liu Xueyi."
Su Mei gave a long pause first, studying her son properly to be sure he was the one those words came from.
All of a sudden, she burst into a hard laugh, mocking those very words he spoke.
His forehead furrowed at her behaviour but being who he was, he did not say anything and gave her the time to enjoy the moment.
When she was done, all she had were smiles on her face while her son was the complete opposite.
"Sun Yichen," she called his name calmly. "Yichen," this time with more force laced in her tone. "Chen," she shortened.
"How many times did I call you?"
"Thrice," he responded begrudgingly.
"Good. It is high time you stop those delusional thoughts."
"Mum you cannot..." She lifted her palm and turned her head to the side while keeping her eyes closed.
"Save it. In this world of dog-eat-dog and people climbing at the expense of one another, you think it would be that easy?"
"No one spoke of ease, mother," he defended. "I just want to grow my own way."
"How!" She yelled at him. "We need so many things in place to get this done. Not just that, who cares how she sees you."
"Mother I do," Sun Yichen said as he got up from his seat.
"I know. I mean who cares if your Ose with help? After all, what everyone needs in life is an opportunity to act. Once you get your chance, you rise."
He unclenched his fists, allowing his mother's words to sink in.
"Andromeda doesn't need the how, just show her a stronger man both in money and the likes. She would fall for you."
"Fine. I would try and get back..."
"No son of mine tries. It is high time you speed things up."
"Got it, mum. I will."
"No. I have given you far too much time to sort this thing out and I wanted results but you failed to do so."
"I was on track before the fight and he injured me."
His mother's eyes opened wide as she stared in shock at him.
She had no idea what happened between them: her son and Liu Xueyi.
All she knew was that she met him once when he had an injury on his face but never once did, she thought it was from a fight with Liu Xueyi.
Her heart tightened in her chest. It was as though she would collapse at any given moment.
Several thoughts ran through her mind but she still couldn't calm down.
How was she too anyway?
Her second son destroyed whatever hope they had before and now that they were struggling to fix it, her first son got into a fight.
Can this family ever be good?
Noticing the sad look on her face, Sun Yichen came forward. His feet stopped their movements in front of her legs.
He lifted his head and with one leg, went down on his knee and he held her hand.
"Mother, it is not what you think. I was with Andromeda and was about to kiss her. I had begun my plans on winning over her heart but he stepped in and hit me hard in the face."
Her veins popped out on either side of her forehead while she listened to his story.
"That Liu Xueyi has gone too far. I think I can pause on Andromeda first and handle him."
"What are you going to do mother?"
"I haven't thought about it. Do not worry. I shall make it nice."
"All right."
Tilting her head back a bit, she peered up at her son's face and smiled. "You said you had plans. I would love to hear it."
"Yes. Sure, it would be nice to get your opinion on it."
"Yes, what are we discussing?" The deep voice of a man way older than Sun Yichen resounded in the house.
No sooner had he mentioned those words than he and his son walked into the living room.
"Hello wifey," Sun Wu Tang greeted the second his eyes fell on his wife.
"Welcome darling, please have a seat."
"Mother, brother, good afternoon," Sun Jingyi greeted and walked behind his father till everyone was seated.
At first, Sun Yichen was about to leave but knowing his brutal father, he behaved and took a seat.
"Father, welcome. Jingyi." He nodded his head at his brother before he cast a side glance at his father.
The fact that they came to this point in their discussion meant there was no escaping it.
For all he knew, his mother was going to use the opportunity to hold on to him and force him to make a decision.
He was going to take action. There was no escaping this.
"So, continue with what you were discussing. Do not let my presence hinder you."
"Yes, father. Mum and I were discussing the business proposal."
"Which?"
'The one Liu Xueyi cancelled."
"Oh." His father's voice dropped. That was one deal that pained him the most.
However, his son spoke up while thinking of how to respond without reeling out his anger.
"Bro, do not tell me you still need that Liu Xueyi scum."
Instantly three pairs of eyes shot in his direction, giving him a deathly glare.
"What? I spoke the truth," he shrugged.
"We are in this mess because of you. The least you can do is shut up!" Sun Yichen hollered.
"I would forget I heard that scoundrel speak," Sun Wu Jang stated. "Please carry on. What is your plan?
