Chapter 426 His True Pain

Chapter 426 His True Pain

*************

CHAPTER 426

Both Andromeda and Gu Jun stared at the closed door, their hearts filled with different thoughts.

Moments later, Andromeda sighed and let her shoulders slump.

As mad as she was before, she felt it all wane when Mo Yuning started crying and worse when the revelation came with Gu Jun being affected.

She turned her gaze to Gu Jun, her voice filled with worry. "I'm sorry you had to find out like this, Jun."

He fell silent, ignoring her words while drumming with his fingers on the table subconsciously.

"Jun? Gu Jun. Gu Jun!" He lifted his eyes slowly, his gaze trailing her body to her face. And then he smiled, one not reaching his eyes but it was pleasant still.

She returned the smile in kind though she wasn't quite sure how genuine or fake it may have seemed.

She knew he would never get along well together with Yuning and Tang Yan after what happened earlier today but perhaps things could change if only for a short time until everything settled down again.

Andromeda sat beside him this time. However, neither spoke for a long moment till finally, she broke the silence by asking him a question which made both of them look away from each other once more.

"Do you love...?"

Her question was cut short by the glare in those beautiful eyes of his and she swallowed.

Moments later, he chuckled bitterly and when their eyes met again, tears fell from his eyelids.

With a broken voice, Andromeda enunciated softly, "Jun..."

"You know..." he swallowed. "It is funny, to be honest."

"What is?"

"I cannot blame her, Andy. Because like her, I had feelings for two people...of opposite genders." He shook his head.

"But you forwent the other and chose her, right?"

"I wish it was that easy. The painful thing about her confession is not hiding the truth from me."

Andromeda's eyes partly widened some more and then narrowed on him, trying to decipher what he said.

"Then what is?"

"The fact that the other person I had feelings for..." he took a pause, and lowered his gaze. "The person that I first loved was..."

Her eyes went wide as the shock registered in her eyes sensing his pain strong and the probability.

"Was Tang Yan."

Gu Jun shut his eyes, fresh hot tears spilling freely down his cheeks.

"You got to be kidding me. How... Wait... You love Tang Yan?" she asked again just to be sure she heard the absurdity of fate well.

Gu Jun looked away from her first before nodding slightly.

"Yes... I do..." His voice trailed off into nothingness leaving both of them staring at nothing much else than air itself. "But I also have feelings for Mo Yuning too," he added quietly.

She knew it. She had suspected something was greatly off judging from the look in his eyes before he shut them when Mo Yuning confessed her feelings.

Hurt flashed in his eyes like no other. Yes, the lady he loved was in love with someone else.

That was painful enough but when he heard the person's name, it was like his heart was shattered into several million pieces.

Andromeda released a heavy sigh.

She knew this day would come sooner or later but now that it had happened—she felt so helpless!

She wanted to scream out loud but instead bit back all the emotions inside herself.

However, this time around there were no words left within her mouth but rather an empty void which made her feel even worse.

She could only sit beside Gu Jun feeling sorry for him while knowing full well how hard things must be going through his mind right now. She wished they did not meet today because if not then perhaps... perhaps.

"And my sad fate is that the two people I have feelings for actually love each other and are dating. Twisted right?"

His brows knitted hard.

"Why did I have to be bisexual? Why did I let my feelings and confusion about my sexual orientation lead to this? Why?!"

Andromeda flinched from his scream, fear coming down on her.

Gu Jun opened his mouth but nothing came out; howbeit, Andromeda understood why—he could no longer speak because there were so many emotions inside of himself, making speech impossible at this point.

She reached out towards him but stopped herself at the last second before pulling back instead.

She stood up slowly before walking over to the door with her face buried into her hands crying softly while muttering something under her breath which sounded like 'why?' repeatedly.

"I'm really sorry about what happened earlier—" Andromeda started saying. "I caused all this. It is my fault."

He shook his head as he wiped away tears off his cheeks using a handkerchief, he took off a pocket in his jacket.

"No Andy," he said after a moment's silence between them both. He turned around once more looking straight ahead without meeting her eyes again.

"It was me who should be sorry. Mo Yuning did nothing wrong and neither did you," he added quietly. "And I even had my first gay sex with a friend I feel nothing for. Isn't my life a mess right now?"

Andromeda had no words to say but she knew he wasn't messed up. He was simply letting the weight crush him and blaming himself.

"I suck and I am terrible."

"Jun, please stop it. Stop it."

"No, it is true, I am a mess, Andy. I ruined my love life. Why would anyone love me?!" Gu Jun questioned as he rose to his feet.

Her heart skipped several beats hearing those words come from his lips and she threw caution to the wind and rushed over to him.

Andromeda hugged him hard causing them to fall on their knees where they stayed silent together until finally, Andromeda broke down crying some more while holding on tight to him.

"Don't do that to yourself, Jun. You are not bad. You are good and you are my best friend. Please."

"Andromeda."

"No. Please, don't say anything anymore. Please. It's okay to cry and as I promised back when we were kids, I'll cry with you, hurt with you even and laugh with you."
