CHAPTER 494 - Kai's Unknown Danger
"Be serious," Rong Bolin chided.
"Aye aye, captain."
"Also, Sun Yichen has been getting closer to her family," Rong Bolin stated. They had been conducting business together for a while but in secret."
Liu Xueyi's lips curled into a wry smile. "Sun Yichen and the Sun family are opportunistic. They'll cosy up to anyone who can support their interests."
"The way they tried with you."
"Exactly. The question now is, who's playing whom in this game? It is obvious both of them are aiming for something. The business world really is about give and take."
Rong Bolin concurred, "I share your sentiments, Xueyi. The situation is intricate."
As they talked, once more Liu Xueyi's gaze shifted to Andromeda, who was gracefully swimming in the pool.
The sunlight glistened on the water, making her appear like an ethereal sea nymph. He couldn't help but admire her beauty and the tranquillity she brought to his life.
"I'll keep an eye on the situation," Liu Xueyi said to Rong Bolin. "Let's see how this unfolds."
Before ending the call, Rong Bolin added one more piece of information. "There's something else you should know."
He exhaled sharply, silently letting Bolin know he was growing tired.
"It's important, Xueyi," Rong Bolin added, making sure he understood what was at stake.
"Fang Daiyu, Andromeda's stepsister is getting engaged to Sun Yichen. It seems like the ties between Kai Group and the Sun family are growing stronger."
Liu Xueyi's breath caught for a moment. He looked at Andromeda again, contemplating the significance of this development.
Since Kai Beifang, the head of Kai Group, was Andromeda's father. He knew he had to inform her about this new connection.
Given the Sun family's background, he knew this business alliance was something that had a possible effect of ruining her father.
However, he felt he could count on Kia Beifang's years of being in the business world.
"Thank you for letting me know," Liu Xueyi said before hanging up. He took a deep breath and steeled his resolve.
No matter the bad blood between Andromeda and her father, she ought to know.
Approaching the edge of the pool, Andromeda swam over to meet him.
Her face lit up when she saw him, her expression filled with the carefree joy of the vacation but as soon as she noticed his furrowed brows, her smile dropped.
"Andy," he called out as he dipped his fingers into the water, sending ripples across the surface.
Andromeda moved toward him, her cerulean eyes locking onto his.
Liu Xueyi waded into the pool until he was standing before her. The water rippled around them as he gently cupped her face with his hands.
"There's something I need to tell you," he began, his eyes unwavering as he prepared to reveal the unexpected news.
Andromeda managed to wear her radiant smile and leaned in closer to him, wrapping her hands around his waist. "What is it, Xueyi?"
He met her lips with a tender kiss, savouring the taste of her as they shared that moment in the shimmering pool.
Finally, when their lips parted, Liu Xueyi looked into Andromeda's eyes and said, "Fang Daiyu, your step…" she shot him a glare, making Xueyi swallow that word and clear his throat.
"My apologies but she is engaged to Sun Yichen or about to."
Andromeda's eyes widened in surprise before narrowing. "How bad is the situation?"
"You know the Sun Group isn't standing strong. I believe your foolish sis… I mean Fang Daiyu has fallen for the Sun family's plot. Your father's company would have the whole problem on it in this alliance."
She processed the information, realizing the implications of this connection between her father's company and Sun Yichen. Her mind raced with thoughts of how it might affect their lives.
"I do not care about Fang Mei and her children. I shouldn't even care for my father but my mother's legacy is in that company," she muttered, still deep in thought.
"If you want me interfering, I will expose the Sun family and have your father see things as they are."
"No."
Liu Xueyi's frown was obvious. He blinked severally, trying to understand what she wanted.
But then she smiled, a glimmer of determination in her gaze. She rested her head against Liu Xueyi's chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart.
"Thank you for telling me, Xueyi. Whatever happens, we'll face it together."
Liu Xueyi's heart swelled with love for the woman in his arms. Together, they were prepared to navigate any challenges that lay ahead.
"Sure. Anytime, love."
As they continued to enjoy their time in the pool, they cherished the present moment, ready to embrace whatever the future held for them once they returned.
But deep down, Andromeda was already formulating a way she could expose her stepmother's ploy, considering her mother's death was still something she needed to investigate.
'I must find our house help quickly. She's the key to opening dad's eyes.' Andromeda thought.

Stepping into the brightly lit living room, Yu An heaved a deep sigh the second she laid eyes on her aunt.
"Back late," the lady stated, eyeing her nieces from head to toe, "and looking less drunk," she added before sitting up straight on the black leather couch. "Tell me, how did the meeting go?"
Yu An's lips curled up in a cheeky smile, her hands spreading at her side. "What do you think?"
Shen Chan-Juan smiled. "I think you hot a good deal."
Both ladies burst into a peal of laughter as Yu An cat-walked over to the couch on her left and took her seat. "He wasn't even a challenge."
Shen Chan-Juan lifted her brows, her eyes holding an impetuous smile. "Really?"
"Yeah. One look at my cleavage while my fingers slid up and down his thigh and he was nodding to every word I said. Unfortunately for him, he already agreed and signed the contract even before he got a kiss."
Shen Chan-Juan let out a long laugh, throwing every form of grace from her side. "Fool," she drew out and continued laughing.
