Chapter 104 : Su Yen fight with the old man -- Grade-3 beast.

As the old man attempted to exit the core of the Dreadshade forest, a sudden gust of wind blew across his path, and a silhouette emerged: Su Yen.

The old man furrowed his brow, his gaze fixed on the unexpected appearance of Su Yen. His eyes narrowed, studying Su Yen with intensity.

"The power of faith is more concentrated around you than anywhere else," the old man muttered, his gaze turning razor-sharp, full of menace.

Su Yen regarded the seemingly ordinary old man with a hint of unease, sensing an impending threat. But he concealed his fear beneath a calm exterior.

"What is your intention for leaving the core region?" Su Yen inquired calmly, even as he realized that this old man was a grade-3 beast. Su Yen was about to discover just how powerful a grade-3 beast could be.

"Kid, do I need your permission before I move?" the old man responded, his demeanor eerily composed. "I never expected humans to give birth to a foundation-building realm expert during my short nap," he added casually.

"I don't want to oppose the beast race. Can you tell me why you're out here?" Su Yen asked again.

The old man regarded him with a teasing smile. "What do you think?"

"I don't know. You tell me," Su Yen shrugged.

"Then, die," the old man declared, nonchalantly swinging his slender hand.

The air around them twisted like a whirlpool, and the powerful shockwave from the palm strike shattered the surrounding trees into rubble.

Caught in the center of the attack, Su Yen's heart raced, and his body reacted on pure instinct. He swiftly employed his movement skill, the "Two-Step Mortal Walk."

Whoosh!

In an instant, Su Yen appeared hundreds of meters away from where the attack had hit. He looked at the ordinary old man in shock, realizing the tremendous power of a grade-3 beast.

Just as he tried to recover from the sudden onslaught, he witnessed the ordinary old man walking on air, covering tens of meters with each step.

Su Yen watched in astonishment, his mouth agape, but he snapped back to his senses as he saw the old man swing his fist.

With rapid dexterity, Su Yen retrieved his sword from his storage ring and executed the fourth form of the "Starlight Blossom Slash."

The air cracked as a potent beam of starlight filled the forest, exuding a deadly sharpness that sent shivers down one's spine.

The old man's expression remained unchanged as he casually strolled towards the oncoming Starlight sword strike.

With a simple wave of his hand, he dispelled the menacing sword light and launched a powerful punch towards Su Yen.

Everything unfolded in the blink of an eye, leaving Su Yen with no time to mount a defense.

Bang!

The forceful punch slammed deep into his chest, propelling him through the air. He collided with a colossal tree, snapping branches as he went.

A deep, pained grunt escaped his lips as he tumbled to the ground, blood gushing from his mouth. His face turned pallid, and his breaths became labored.

Struggling to lift his head, Su Yen gazed at the old man who floated in the air.

The old man regarded him with an indifferent expression, akin to observing an insignificant ant.

To the old man, this battle was nothing more than squashing a bothersome insect.

"I expected more from the first human I've encountered at the Foundation Building realm in centuries," the old man remarked casually, preparing to end Su Yen's life with a devastating palm strike.

Swinging his palm, the old man's spiritual essence formed a colossal gray palm, extending over a hundred meters.

The sheer pressure from this palm attack obliterated trees and vegetation into smithereens.

As the palm attack approached Su Yen, his bones cracked and his skin bore signs of severe damage. Yet, a faint smile curled upon his lips as he looked at his bloodied form.

Whoosh!

Before the gargantuan palm reached the ground, Su Yen darted away, leaving behind a trail of afterimages.

Bang!

The palm struck the earth, imprinting the ground with a deep, palm-shaped depression. The old man turned his gaze toward Su Yen, his expression tinged with fascination.

"Interesting, but ultimately futile," the old man mumbled, preparing to launch another attack. However, he halted as an impending fatal threat emanated from Su Yen.

Floating in mid-air, the old man suddenly felt an excruciating sharpness prickling his skin, causing every hair on his body to stand on end.

"What's this?" he exclaimed, a startled expression overtaking his face.

Su Yen unleashed his sword soul, and the minor injuries he had sustained visibly began to heal. "Let's begin," he announced.

With that declaration, he executed the fifth form of the Starlight Blossom Slash. The resulting beam of starlight carried an overpowering aura that was almost imperceptible to the naked eye.

Before the old man could react, the sword beam was already upon him. As a grade-3 beast, he barely managed to raise his arm in an 'X' shape to block the attack.

Bang!

The sword beam struck him, forcing him to stagger back a few steps with a deep gash on his arm.

The old man stared at the sharp wound in amazement for a moment before he realized another formidable strike was rapidly approaching.

"Impudent!" he roared, releasing his cultivated aura and retaliating with a powerful punch.

However, he had underestimated the might of the sword soul. Under its influence, the force of his punch was reduced, allowing Su Yen to narrowly evade the strike.

Boom!

The punch landed in the ground, sending debris into the air, shrouding the area in a cloud of dust.

Su Yen remained undeterred by the deadly attack, closing the distance between them to unleash the fifth form of the Starlight Blossom Slash once more.

Bang! Bang!

The old man deflected these strikes with fury and swiftly moved closer.

Whoosh!

He appeared right before Su Yen like a phantom and thrust his fist through Su Yen's chest.

Aw!

A deep grunt escaped Su Yen's lips as he struggled to process the bewildering movement of the old man.

Despite the gruesome injury, he gazed upon the old man with an expressionless face, his fear concealed.

Everything had transpired in the blink of an eye, but Su Yen remained resolute.

The old man withdrew his blood-soaked hand from Su Yen's chest, leaving a gaping hole where his heart once was.

Su Yen toppled to the ground, the world spinning as he succumbed to the darkness.
