Chapter 113 : Blood Whisperer Full-scale Attack.
Deep in the Dreadshade Forest, a place where no human had ventured in a thousand years, a blinding dot appeared in the distance, hurtling toward them at an extraordinary speed.
Bang!
A massive Roaring Claw Bear crashed to the ground, its massive body sliding for hundreds of meters before coming to a jarring halt.
The ghastly injury on its body was horrifying. Its chest bore a gaping wound, and some of its fractured bones had broken through its flesh.
Blood gushed out from its mangled body, forming a sinister crimson stream on the forest floor. The Roaring Claw Bear struggled to breathe, attempting to move, but every attempt only made it cry out in agony.
Suddenly, the ground beneath its immense form trembled, and hundreds of spider-like cracks spread in all directions. Emerging from the depths of the earth was a colossal beast: the Devil Flame Centipede, an intermediate grade-3 creature.
The Devil Flame Centipede was one of the overlords of the beast race within the Dreadshade Forest.
The Roaring Claw Bear had initially attacked the Celestial Heavenly Sect under the agreement of the forest's beast overlords. However, their plan to eliminate the power of Faith had evidently failed.
"What happened, old bear?" The Devil Flame Centipede inquired, a shocked tone evident in its voice.
For several seconds, the Roaring Claw Bear did not respond, writhing in pain. However, the Devil Flame Centipede's impatience grew as it waited.
Eventually, the bear communicated its ordeal through spirit sense. The Devil Flame Centipede's face took on a human-like expression, contorted in shock.
"Are you serious?" it exclaimed, its voice laced with disbelief.
The ancient forest suddenly quaked, and the towering, ancient trees seemed to part like a grand avenue, as if welcoming an important presence.
Hiss!
A colossal reptile emerged from the surroundings, its sheer aura destroying the ancient trees in its proximity. The pressure emanating from its body was enough to cause the Devil Flame Centipede to tremble.
It was the Cold Mutant Python, another intermediate grade-3 beast.
"Will you cease with your pressure, you cold fool?" the Devil Flame Centipede shouted in annoyance.
The Cold Mutant Python turned its orb-like eyes to glare at the Centipede, retorting arrogantly, "If you dislike it, come and bite me."
The enmity between the centipede and the python had deep roots, and they were ready to engage in combat at any given opportunity.
"Both of you, cease this nonsense," a cold voice resonated from the ground.
At the sound of the voice, the two colossal beasts immediately halted their actions, turning to face the source.
From the depths of the earth, a massive black rat appeared. Though smaller in stature than the others, its demeanor exuded an air of fear and respect that highlighted its own formidable nature.
It was the Elusive Torment Rat, a Peak Grade-3 beast.
"What has happened to him?" the Elusive Torment Rat inquired, its small eyes locked on the dying bear, and a razor-sharp killing intent radiating from its presence.
Quickly, the Devil Flame Centipede recounted the events to the Elusive Rat. As both the python and the rat listened, they were struck dumb with disbelief.
"Impossible!" the Cold Mutant Python cried out, a wave of frigid air spilling from its body, freezing everything in a hundred-meter radius.
However, the Elusive Torment Rat remained unfazed, lost in thought. Its small eyes bore into the dying bear, and a deadly, chilling killing intent seethed.
"The human race is growing bolder. It seems they've forgotten who dominates this world," the Elusive Torment Rat said, its voice dripping with bone-chilling coldness that sent shivers through the centipede and the python.
"Send out the Tier 2 wave," the rat commanded. "This time, we won't stop until we've annihilated every human."

In one of the villages deep in the Eastern Barren Land, a deadly battle raged on. What had once been a bustling settlement now lay in ruins, the sound of conflict echoing through the decimated streets.
"Don't let them escape!" Captain Gang bellowed, veins protruding from his forehead as he issued orders.
The Blood Whisperers, more relentless and deadly than ever, were wreaking havoc in the area.
After their initial defeat in the city, they had launched a wave of inhuman attacks on villages far from the city's protection.
With the assistance of Spirit Comms and the ongoing citizenship registration, the soldiers of the Celestial Heavenly Sect responded swiftly.
Yet, the battle remained deadly, the air filled with the clash of weapons, desperate cries, and the stench of blood.
"Formation!" Captain Gang commanded as he deftly sidestepped a deadly spear thrust and countered with a swift attack from his long spear. "Die!"
His spear moved with precision, puncturing the chest of a Blood Whisperer. The assailant let out a faint grunt but showed no sign of pain or fear.
The Blood Whisperer retaliated, his spear lodged in his chest notwithstanding. Captain Gang, undeterred, abandoned his spear and used his movement skills to dodge the next attack.
In a flash, he appeared to the left of the Blood Whisperer and unleashed a powerful punch.
The impact sent the Blood Whisperer hurtling through the air. As the enemy soared, Captain Gang retrieved his spear, executing three swift slashes in succession.
Whoosh!
The Blood Whisperer transformed into a black, wispy smoke and vanished. Captain Gang didn't allow himself to feel relieved as he urgently rejoined his squad.
"When are the reinforcements coming?!" he shouted, his impatience evident.
Captain Gang and his squad were composed of ordinary soldiers equipped with Metal Bone Constructs.
The heavy armor had already taken its toll on their bodies. Were it not for their recent breakthroughs in cultivation realms, they might not have survived.
"Captain, I've received a message from the barracks," one of his men shouted while fending off an enemy's attack with his shield.
"What did the message say?" Captain Gang inquired as he rushed to the aid of another soldier.
"We're not the only ones under attack. Three other villages are under assault, and... and..."
"And what... Dammit."
"And they're still counting."
"Counting what?!" Captain Gang's eyes widened in disbelief. This was an absurd response he had never encountered. "Were the Blood Whisperers launching a full-scale attack on all fronts?"
"It seems that way," the soldier replied, his voice tinged with frustration. "So, we're on our own," he concluded, the realization of their dire situation sinking in.
Meanwhile, inside the Celestial Heavenly Sect's army barracks, the atmosphere was tense. Soldiers hurried back and forth, their expressions grave and anxious.
Within the main tent, Su Ming stood before a large rectangular table. Arrayed along the sides of the table, various generals and officers bore pensive expressions.
Each of them received numerous messages from their followers, and concern was etched across their faces as they pondered their next moves.
"Sir," General Dongyang called urgently, his voice heavy with concern.
Su Ming turned his attention to General Dongyang. "What is it?"
The general's response sent a chill through the tent. "All the villages in the Eastern Barren Land are under heavy attack."
A collective gasp filled the space as those present realized the situation was graver and more terrifying than they had previously thought.
The Blood Whisperers were conducting a full-scale assault on the Eastern Barren Land.
As they attempted to grasp the magnitude of this threat and devise a strategy to confront it, Biyu approached with a hint of panic on her face.
"Sir, I have a report... The Blood Whisperers have appeared in the Southern Barren Land."
Su Ming's brow furrowed, his face etched with profound weariness. He had not enjoyed a proper night's rest in the past week.
Now, with the onslaught of the Blood Whisperers intensifying, his fatigue was even more palpable.
"Relay the message to the Southern Barracks," Su Ming commanded.
In the Southern Barren Land, the Yinyang Village was a remote settlement situated far from other villages, its proximity to a river that flowed into the southern sea defining its character. The villagers primarily engaged in fishing, and their days had always been peaceful.
But today was different.
Suddenly, hundreds of individuals wearing black robes with hoods and eerie weeping baby masks covering their faces descended upon the village, sending shockwaves through the population.
Before the village guards could comprehend the situation, the Blood Whisperers initiated their merciless onslaught.
However, the village chief acted quickly and sent a distress message to the army. The few soldiers who had been engaged in the citizenship registration promptly sprang into action.
Within minutes, the once-peaceful village was thrown into chaos. The Celestial Heavenly Soldiers found themselves quickly overwhelmed.
It became apparent that the Blood Whisperers were going all out, showing no regard for their own lives.
"This is bad!" Captain Kai shouted, his body trembling as he used his shield to deflect a perilous sword strike.
"Star Formation!" he ordered.
The hundreds of soldiers, already soaked in sweat and breathless, regrouped into three-man squads.
Despite their numerical advantage, it offered them little solace. Within moments, an opening in their formation allowed the Blood Whisperers to strike down one of the soldiers from behind.
With the Star Formation in shambles, it was only a matter of time before the remaining two soldiers suffered the same fate.
Captain Kai seethed with fury as he struck down the Blood Whisperer who had slain his men. However, he realized that his spiritual essence had plummeted by half.
"This is bad," he muttered, narrowly evading a sneak attack that left his back drenched in cold sweat. "That was close."
"Tortoise Formation!" he yelled, realizing that defense was their best option in this dire situation.
