Chapter 132 : Construction of the Spirit Train - Part 1
Chapter 132 : Construction of the Spirit Train - Part 1
Inside a massive building, Su Yen stood with some sect elders around a rectangular wooden table, discussing in hushed voices.
Behind them, deacons and elders gazed at the five people around the table with respect and reverence.
Su Yen didn't have a solemn expression on his face as he gave orders to the various departments. "Since you have an idea of how to build a carriage, you are following the same process but follow this drawing." He pointed to the various blueprints in front of him as he looked at Elder Jiayi.
Elder Jiayi had a solemn expression on his face as he took a blueprint and brought it closer to his face to study it with full seriousness. Each of the components had detailed measurements.
Even though he was confused about how these strange metal components would make a fast-speed carriage, he didn't have the luxury to care about that. He realized the intricacy of the design and that the blueprint required careful preparation.
"I got it. How many should I make?" He asked Su Yen.
"As many as possible until I ask you to stop," Su Yen responded matter-of-factly.
What!
Elder Jiayi's jaw dropped to the ground. Besides him, all the other elders were stupefied as well. They looked at Su Yen's face, wanting to confirm his seriousness, but when they saw his deadpan expression, they knew their sect master was not kidding.
Sighing, Elder Jiayi nodded, "I will get on it."
As he prepared to depart, he heard Su Yen's voice from behind, "I need the first complete parts in two days."
Elder Jiayi almost stumbled when he heard the command, but didn't turn and increased his pace. Time was of the essence, and he couldn't afford to delay.
The remaining elders around the table swallowed hard and exchanged worried glances.
"How is the map?" Su Yen asked.
"Done. With the help of Blue Wing, we were able to draw it in detail without missing anything," Elder Kang responded, placing several freshly drawn maps on the table.
Su Yen looked at the various maps for a few moments, and then he nodded. Instead of drawing only the eastern barren land, Su Yen changed his mind and asked them to draw the entire barren land. With the help of his mount, Blue Wing, they completed it quickly.
He studied the Cloudweaver city map for a few moments, and then he pointed to a certain spot on the map. "Build the Spirit Train Station here based on this design."
He brought another blueprint from the bunch and gave it to Elder Kang.
Elder Kang took the building blueprint and studied it for a moment. Previously, if he hadn't received the construction inheritance from Su Yen, this blueprint would be very difficult to understand, let alone construct. But now, it was quite easy.
He even had some new ideas he could add to the design. "I will get it completed in three days," his voice brimming with confidence.
"Good. But that's not all." Su Yen brought another blueprint from the bunch.
This time, it wasn't just a single blueprint, but many. Su Yen didn't care about the unsightly expression on Elder Kang's face and began to explain each blueprint.
One blueprint contained the train track that covered the whole of the Cloudweaver city. The web of tracks was so confusing that the elders couldn't wrap their heads around it. Some tracks were even underground.
How insane was that?
Another blueprint showed the sub-stations in the city. Like the train station, they were scattered around the city, with some being built underground.
And lastly, the intercity and military tracks that needed to be constructed.
When Su Yen finished his explanation, he looked at Elder Kang and asked, "When will you complete it?"
For a few seconds, Elder Kang froze without blinking. He wanted to escape from this, but he dared not. He wanted to scream and vent his frustration, but he dared not.
Furthermore, he felt like he should quit from being the head of the construction hall, but he couldn't.
Looking at the unsightly expression on his face, Elder Mei and Elder Jie couldn't help but pity him, but there was nothing they could do about it.
Su Yen didn't rush him for answers and waited patiently. Finally, Elder Kang woke up from his stupor and said slowly, "S-sect master... two weeks."
"I give you ten days," Su Yen responded firmly, leaving no room for discussion.
This time, Elder Kang wanted to cry for real. It was only when he heard Su Yen's next sentence that a sigh of relief escaped from his mouth.
"You won't have to do it alone. Elder Jie will mobilize the people to create the train tracks and build tunnels. You only need to supervise everything."
"Thank you, I will get it done." With that, Elder Kang rushed out of the hall, with his men following him.
Inside the massive hall were the Formation masters, apprentices, and students from the Intelligence academy.
"Before the train parts start appearing, you all need to practice your formation and rune inscribing carefully," he announced.
He gave Elder Mei a book. "This contains all the array formations we are going to need for the Spirit Train. Give it to your apprentices to study and start practicing immediately..." He took another book and gave it to her.
"This one is for the spirit stones and runic section. That's for you alone."
Elder Mei held the two books like hot potatoes. She wanted to drop them but didn't dare. Now, she realized how the others felt when their demon sect master was assigning them their work.
With a bitter smile, she nodded. "I understand."
As if she was being chased, she waved to her apprentices and rushed out of the hall.
Looking at all this, Elder Jie wanted to laugh but remembered he was not in a position to laugh, especially when he remembered the picture in Su Yen's hand.
Su Yen looked at Elder Jie and said, "You need to mobilize the people to support all the various departments. Offer as many incentives as you want. Also, many buildings will need to be destroyed in the creation of the train track. Meet with the various families and settle them accordingly."
"Right away," Elder Jie responded and left quickly.
But as he was leaving, he heard Su Yen's voice behind him. "I don't want to hear any discrepancy about the settlement thing."
"You won't."
With that, it was only Su Yen and the Intelligence academy in the construction hall. He looked at his two best students, Ai and Aiguo, before he looked at the other students.
