Chapter 298: God Wrath: First Nuclear Attack

Standing outside the Brown Steel Prefecture capital, Huang Guo and the one hundred barren land soldiers waited patiently for the arrival of their army and Prefecture Lord.

Minutes turned to hours but their army and Prefecture Lord did not show up as agreed.

However, he received the order from the Governor asking him not to comply with the rebel demands.

Since the rebels had not yet attacked or destroyed any prefecture, they believed they did not want to kill innocent people.

Thus, the plan was to use that against them and wait to see their reaction. Finally, if the rebels decided to attack the capital, they would use the innocent people as their shield while attacking them.

The plan was to paint the rebels as a blood-seeking power that won't hesitate to kill the innocent people to get what they want.

The plan seemed viable, but there was one clause. They did not know how the Celestial Heavenly Sect would respond.

Five days of waiting, their plan was working.

Suddenly, a massive Thunderbird beast appeared, and the one hundred barren land soldiers jumped onto its back and departed.

When the guards on the wall saw this, a bright smile appeared on their faces, and the guard commander sent the report to the Prefecture Lord.

"They've left!" The Prefecture Lord exclaimed when he heard the report.

"I told you. The Governor's plan would work." The lady standing before him said proudly.

Realizing their plans were working, the Prefecture Lord was brimming with confidence.

"They might be powerful, but they are all spineless bastards. I think we can go to the second phase of the plan," the Prefecture Lord said and stood from his seat.

"Yes. I will get my people right to it," the lady responded and prepared to depart when a voice echoed throughout the capital.

"What is that?!" The Prefecture Lord shouted and rushed out of the hall.

With the lady right behind him, they appeared outside the hall and saw an object floating in the sky.

From the object, a female voice came out. "Your Prefecture Lord has failed to honor the martial challenge. His Majesty The Great has given the people of Brown Steel three days to leave the Brown Steel Prefecture before his wrath descends."

"Old and young, please leave now. There will be no more Brown Steel Prefecture in three days."

The announcement continued unending, shocking everyone living in the capital.

The Brown Steel Prefecture Lord was furious.

"How dare him spread lies!"

Without thinking, he attacked the device with a powerful palm strike.

As an Intermediate Core Refining expert, his attack was overwhelming and it was not something a mere broadcasting artifact could withstand.

Meanwhile, the Brown Steel Prefecture was quiet but everyone could feel an ominous cloud over their heads.

"Why do I feel I'm in danger?" The Prefecture Lord said with panic in his voice.

The lady also had a pensive expression on her face. She was an Early Core Refining stage 1 expert, thus she could feel the imminent danger.

But from where?!

With every second passing by, the feeling was going stronger.

Even those that were waiting to see what would happen could feel the aura of death over the Brown Steel Prefecture.

"The Brown Steel Prefecture is done for," the Baidu Prefecture Lord muttered and shook her head in pity.
