Bruce knew it was foolish to seek help from Alice, but he didn’t want anyone else to find out he was stuck on the stool. She was the only one who knew about his embarrassing predicament, so he felt he had no choice but to ask for her assistance.

However, he understood that Alice couldn’t help him at all and knew that no one could assist him with his predicament, but he couldn’t bear to see himself suffering while she was so relaxed and at ease.
