Chapter 1255 The War Begins

Chapter 1255 The War Begins

Chapter 1255 The War Begins

“That happened?” Chen Feng laughed.

Before this, the Six Daos Alliance had been fighting to the death with the East Extreme Immortal Palace, one of the organizations under the Immortal Court. Naturally, the Six Daos Alliance will not be answering the Immortal Court’s summons.

“The Immortal Court is the ruler of the Immortal Plane, after all. As an unparalleled danger has befallen the Immortal Plane, most of the sects in the Immortal Plane have chosen to obey the Immortal Court’s summons and send forth their members for it,” Magiris continued.

Chen Feng’s eyes narrowed. “Unexpectedly, the Immortal Court’s rule is so strong. It is indeed a formidable opponent.”

“Yes. The present Immortal Court is stronger than the past. As for our Celestial Planes, we are constantly fighting each other. How disheartening.” Magiris sighed.

“But with the intervention from the Immortal Plane, the pressure on us will lessen somewhat.” Chen Feng nodded.

“Lessen? It’s not that simple. The Slaughterers are spreading out in all directions and many worlds have come under attack. A high number of life-bearing places will disappear with every passing moment.”

Magiris then shook his head and said, “Most importantly, the Heavenly dao is interfering.”

“The Heavenly dao is interfering? What do you mean?” Chen Feng knitted his brows.

“Gold Immortals have found that they could not take living creatures into their bodily worlds. No, that’s not right. It would be more accurate to say that it is very difficult. Even if they could, it would come at a price.”

“Seriously?” A look of shock flashed across Chen Feng’s eyes. Next, he waved his hand to bring a True Immortal into his bodily world.

Next, failure.

Chen Feng was taken aback. Next, he slapped his head. “How did I forget? My bodily worlds are not yet at a high enough level.”

Magiris burst into laughter.

“Now you know. Even Gold Immortals would only be able to take in some rather ordinary living creatures into their bodily worlds. Additionally, due to the interference from the Heavenly dao, the upper limit of those living creatures’ strength has been reduced by several levels. I am already a Gold Immortal. But at best, I can only put Human Immortals in my bodily world. Any higher and I will not be able to do it.”

“The highest is only Human Immortals? Then what about the Earthen Immortals, Ascendant Immortals, True Immortals and Heavenly Immortals?” Chen Feng said, his voice grim.

“They will have to depend on their luck.”

“Luck? When the army of Slaughterers arrive, only Gold Immortals would have what it takes to survive. Rather, even Gold Immortals will fall to them.” After saying that, Chen Feng revealed a wry smile.

“Yes. Though, Eternal World’s upper limit is the Ascendant Immortal stage. At least, not too many people will die.”

“But if so, transferring Eternal World away using this method will be even harder.”

After saying that, Chen Feng grasped and several Human Immortals were brought into one of his bodily worlds. Next, everything before them blurred as they were sent back to where they were earlier.

With another wave of Chen Feng’s hand, the Human Immortals completely forgot what happened.

“There are indeed some restrictions. I think, even low-level cultivators would not be able to casually enter bodily worlds.” Chen Feng nodded. He was well aware of how strong he was. Although he had already developed his own bodily worlds, they were too all over the place. Their individual levels were too low and were lacking in foundation. It was only natural that they would not be able to match the bodily worlds of other Gold Immortals in terms of stability and size.

“Still, during times of crisis, we will be able to save some lives.”

And so, another 30 years went by. During those 30 years, the number of cultivators in Eternal World nearly doubled. Every few days, cultivators would come to Eternal World. Many of them were escapees.

Amongst the escapees, only a small number were star wanderers. The majority of them were cultivators who had lost their homes to the Slaughterers.

During the 30 years, Chen Feng had only left Eternal World three times. He did not fight the Slaughterers. Instead, he simply went to observe the situation with the Slaughterers.

He also linked up to the Celestial Longevity Plane one more time to receive the support from its essence power.

At last…

An army of Slaughterers spread out as it flew over.

The atmosphere of pressure had seemingly gained tangibility, causing the entire Eternal World to shake. Some with lesser cultivation bases ended up shaking, their spirits faltering.

“Kill!”

Before the Slaughterers could initiate their attacks, the cultivators from Eternal World’s side instead launched an attack.

In the starry space outside Eternal World were tens of defensive perimeters and countless fortresses. Almost every fortress had an energy cannon.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that Eternal World’s defence had reached a flawless state.

This was the result of all those years spent in preparation. Some high-level cultivators had also joined them throughout the years, after all.

Even so, they were feeling terribly pressured.

Everyone there, including the Gold Immortals, were not feeling too confident. All of them already had plans for a retreat.

Throughout history, or more accurately, according to the rumours, no ordinary life-bearing great world had ever managed to stop the advance of the Slaughterers.

“For the Heavenly dao to be interfering. It means that these Slaughterers are not from another universe.” Chen Feng and Magiris led a group of cultivators and they charged out of Eternal World.

“It is also possible that the same Heavenly dao is in charge of our universe and the other universe,” Magiris said, chuckling.

“Later, let’s see who gets more kills.” Chen Feng then changed the topic.

“Call.” Killing intent billowed out from Magiris’ eyes.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The first to attack were the energy cannons. Several thousand energy cannons boomed at the same time, unleashing a power of devastation that cleared off large stretches of the Slaughterers wherever they went.

That one round of bombardment blasted over a million Slaughterers to bits.

“See that? The Slaughterers are not all that!” a Gold Immortal shouted, his voice spreading through the entire Eternal World.

“Attack!”

Following that, tens of Gold Immortal – despite not saying anything – charged forward in unison. They were followed by cultivators of varying levels of cultivation.

“Attack!”

Chen Feng and Magiris exchanged glances before charging forward as well.

The earlier bombardment had left the Slaughterers in a state of chaos. Thus, this was a good opportunity for an attack. By killing these Slaughterers, they could obtain their crystal cores, something that could help with their cultivation for quite some time.

Boom!

The sword in Chen Feng’s hand unleashed a world-encompassing curtain of swords, killing off a high number of the Slaughterers. Behind Chen Feng were 1,000 cultivators, led by Tun Ri. Of the 1,000 cultivators, 200 were from the Six Daos Alliance while the rest were cultivators from Eternal World.

The Gold Immortals’ charge kicked off the brutal battle. Although Gold Immortals were strong, capable of charging ever forward, the cultivators behind them were not as strong. Moreover, there were too many Slaughterers. Even though over a million of them had died, the Slaughterers’ numbers did not appear diminished at all. Recovering from the chaos, the Slaughterers quickly displayed a performance unlike that of killing machines. The two sides kept fighting and the cultivators on Eternal World’s side began suffering from casualties.

There were times when the Gold Immortals could have clearly helped out only for them to choose not to. The reason for that was to hone the cultivators. This was just the beginning. A more brutal scenario was waiting for them all.

“Retreat!”

The Gold Immortals waved and golden light enveloped the cultivators behind them. Next, they quickly flew back into the defensive perimeter.

Another group of cultivators that had been gathering their strength, also led by Gold Immortals, then charged forward. The reason the cultivators from Eternal World dared to fight these Slaughterers was because of the various Gold Immortals who came from the various parts of the universe.

Without these Gold Immortals defending the place, the cultivators from Eternal World who had the ability to flee would have fled long ago.

In order to protect this life-bearing place, the cultivators who joined up with Eternal World’s forces also fought with all their strength. The situation was clear as day. Should Eternal World be destroyed, they will be forced to run away again. Only, there was a high chance that they would die here.

The second group of cultivators retreated. Following that, the energy cannons began firing again. This round of bombardment wiped out yet another stretch of the army of Slaughterers.

Next, the Slaughterers retreated. They retreated as swiftly as they came, quickly disappearing from everyone’s sight.

Having successfully repelled the Slaughterers, the entire Eternal World roared with passion.

Some of the high-level cultivators, though, did not become overjoyed. They knew that this was just the beginning. Next time, even more Slaughterers will come.

“Tidy up the battlefield and make a headcount of the casualties.”

They had killed off several million Slaughterers, but at a certain price. When compared to the millions of Slaughterers killed, the price felt somewhat small. Even so, some of them still felt a heaviness in their hearts.

The reason for that was the fact that the cultivators who attacked earlier were almost all elites.

The 1,000-strong team that Chen Feng and Tun Ri led had also suffered from tens of casualties. When compared to the others, this was already quite the decent feat. Some were even feeling delighted at having obtained large amounts of crystal cores.

“I killed ten thousand.” Magiris walked over.

“About the same.” Chen Feng nodded.

“Actually, if the two of us work together, we should be able to kill even more,” Magiris suggested.

“Alright, let’s give it a shot. However, I believe that the Slaughterers will not allow us to keep on killing them like this. Formidable Slaughterers might appear after this,” Chen Feng said.

“You mean Gold Immortals. You had fought their Gold Immortals before. Tell me, how strong are they?” Magiris grew curious.

“Very strong. Unless we have very strong Gold Immortals on our side, in a one versus one, the odds of our side winning are less than 10%.”

“Less than 10%? How is that possible?” Magiris was in a slight state of disbelief.

In truth, this was already a very conservative evaluation from Chen Feng. The first time he encountered the enemy Gold Immortal, he and three other Gold Immortals had besieged the Space-time Slaughterer only for Gold Immortal No Worries to be killed in action. In the end, Chen Feng and the other two had to flee while suffering from grievous injuries.

After that, Chen Feng overcame his tribulation and his strength increased tenfold. Even so, in a one versus one, he was still incapable of defeating the enemy Space-time Slaughterer. Thinking about how some Gold Immortals might suddenly pop out from the army of Slaughterers caused a chill to run down Chen Feng’s spine. That said, he also knew that the possibility of that happening was very high. Maybe, it will happen the very next time they fought the Slaughterers.

“They’re really that strong.” Chen Feng then recounted his previous fights with them to Magiris, who became stunned at what he heard.

Three months later, the Slaughterers reappeared. This time, their numbers were higher and their killing intent was thicker. Even the atmosphere they exuded had become more brutal.

Chen Feng’s divine sense rapidly swept outwards and it quickly returned.

“There’s a Space-time Slaughterer hiding amidst the army. Looks like they are determined to win this time,” Chen Feng said.

“Space-time Slaughterer? I can take this opportunity to witness it for myself.” Despite having heard from Chen Feng how strong the other party was, Magiris was still brimming with the will to fight.
