Chapter 342 - Table for Two, Please (2)

The old woman only laughed more. She had seen and met various people in her long life and knew that these two had a connection like those of husband and wife.

Even if they say two different answers, Madam Rong hadn't missed the way Feng Tianyi looked at Tang Moyu. It was as if someone took the stars in the sky and placed it in his obsidian eyes. It was as if his whole world revolved around this woman.

"Don't mind him, Madam. He's just being silly." Tang Moyu said as she continued to eat while glaring at Feng Tianyi.

"By the way, is there a nearby hotel we can check in?" Feng Tianyi asked. "We just arrived in this town, so we aren't familiar with this place yet."

"If you could also tell us where the nearest supermarket is, if you don't mind." Tang Moyu added.

"Oh, the nearest hotel is a few blocks away from here. The supermarket it a bit far from here though. Let me write down the addresses and I will come back to you in a moment." Madam Rong replied with a smile before leaving the two on their own to go back to the counter where Meng Yanran was nervously waiting for her return.

"Are they some kind of celebrities? I've never seen people as beautiful as them." One of Meng Yanran's co-workers commented. Tang Moyu was such an eye candy, although she had this intimidating aura around her, while Feng Tianyi's carefree personality masked the viciousness of the devil inside.

"That reminds me of when we met Meng Yanran the first time. She also looked like them the first time she came here." The other replied.

Meng Yanran's face paled. She hoped they wouldn't question if she knew them. She didn't want anyone to know that she was here, especially her mother. She was already tired of hearing her nagging and blaming her. She just wanted to be on her own for the meantime.

She studied the empress and her companion from afar. It didn't seem like they were here because of her, but she can't let her guard down while they were around. She sighed. It was pointless to worry too much.

So what if Tang Moyu was here? They were probably travelling and had coincidentally stopped by this area along their trip. Yeah, coincidence.

Meng Yanran continued to work, but she still kept an eye on the empress. More people came in the bar and placed their orders. Tang Moyu continued to eat but didn't join Feng Tianyi in drinking the beers he ordered.

They watched as the patrons made bets against each other as they crowded the pool table at the center of the bar.

"Wanna play?" Feng Tianyi asked Tang Moyu once he noticed that she was watching with interest.

"I don't play with bets. Maybe next time." Tang Moyu answered before taking a sip from the smoothie Feng Tianyi ordered for her. "I used to play with Meili and Yaoyao when we were in New York."

"You are good at it?" The devil inquired. He realized that there were still more things to discover about this very interesting empress of his.

"Not as good as those two. They can practically kill everyone with their tricks." Tang Moyu hummed, then caught Meng Yanran taking a peek at her from where she was standing.

"Oh, so the Little Miss is curious about what we are doing here, eh?" She commented. "She must be nervous."

"She probably is. She recognized you." Feng Tianyi said in a matter of fact tone. Since Meng Yanran was a socialite, she wouldn't fail to recognize the fallen empress at first glance, given how well-known the empress was.

"Should we go?" Tang Moyu asked once she saw that he was done with his meal.

"Not yet. I'm curious to see how she's doing here. Li Yuanyi would want some definite answers." The devil replied.

"I still don't understand why you accepted his request. You could have sent someone else here to find her." She complained. This town was too far from Shenzhen and she had to leave her little buns in Li Meili's care.

As the last ball sank, the crowd laughed and started getting their wins from the bets. In the middle of it, Meng Yanran and another waitress came to serve the drinks. One of the men cornered Meng Yanran and groped her a.s.s, which made her instinctively turn around, her hand flying to slap his face.

There was a moment of silence as they realized what had happened. Madam Rong, who had finally snapped out of her shock, immediately came running to save Meng Yanran, who was visibly trembling from being harassed by someone.

"We're sorry. She's new here. I hope you can let this pass." Madam Rong knew that it wasn't Meng Yanran's fault, however, she had no other choice but to apologize instead.

"You think a simple sorry is enough, old woman?" The man harrumphed. He then gave Meng Yanran a good look. "Hey, she's pretty. I'll let you off this time if you hand her to me."

"No!" Meng Yanran cried and held onto Madam Rong's arm. This was one of the reasons she rarely went out of the kitchen counters to serve customers. Even the old couple knew it would be dangerous for her if someone took a liking on her.

"Sir, please leave. We have already apologized and I think you've had enough drinks for today." Madam Rong cast a look outside and saw that it was already dark. There was no way in hell would she allow these men to take Meng Yanran.

"Come on, old woman. We come here to play and have some good time. Lend this woman to us for a moment, will ya?" The other man insisted as he licked his lips, locking his disgusting l.u.s.tful eyes on Meng Yanran, who was hiding behind the old woman.

"Are you nuts or do you have trouble hearing?" Tang Moyu couldn't take it anymore and stepped forward. "A bunch clowns, I see."

Feng Tianyi g.r.o.a.n.e.d. "Not again."
