Chapter 351 - You Are My Lucky Charm, Princess (1)
Tang Moyu was at loss, not knowing what to do right then. Meng Yanran was weeping in her arms while Feng Tianyi was giving her the silent treatment once again. Can anyone tell her what the hell was happening with these two? She wondered.
She tried to pull herself away from Meng Yanran as people around them started throwing curious looks towards them. She didn't want them to think that she was bullying Meng Yanran and the devil at the same time.
"Miss Meng, do you mind… releasing me?" The empress said awkwardly, but Meng Yanran refused to budge from her position and continued to sob in her arms.
Tang Moyu could only sigh and pat Meng Yanran's back. Why was she crying anyway? Was her proposition really that bad, it actually made Meng Yanran cry?
Meanwhile, Feng Tianyi repeatedly sighed to himself before entering the car, sitting next to the driver's seat. He had never thought that he would be bullied by someone, and that someone was his wife!
Was this his karma for bullying other people before his accident? That he finally met someone who could easily get under his skin and could annoy him to no end?
Tang Moyu waited for Meng Yanran to calm down before she drove back to the Rong's household where the old couple was waiting for them. She needed to discuss her plans with them before they returned to Shenzhen later.
Meng Yanran had explained to them what was going to happen. She accepted Tang Moyu's proposition so long as the empress would be able to help Madam Rong and her husband as well as keep her father's treasures until she was strong enough to stand on her own.
"Are you sure about this, Miss Tang?" Madam Rong was so shocked that Tang Moyu was willing to buy out their little old bar.
"Yes, I am sure." The empress replied nonchalantly, glancing at Feng Tianyi, who was outside at the garden, busy over his phone as he made arrangements for their return to Shenzhen since Meng Yanran had nowhere to go.
"This is the only way I can think of right now to solve the problem. I know you two aren't in a rush to sell the property, but Meng Yanran wouldn't be able to leave the two of you without the assurance." The empress explained. "If you are happy with the terms, I'll send my private lawyer here this week to finalize the buyout."
The couple looked at each other and remained silent for a moment. They had already given it a good thought for a while, but they weren't quite ready to leave the Big Line Bar yet. They started the bar and watched it grow over the years ever since they got married.
Seeing the conflicted expression on their faces, Tang Moyu sighed. She knew this would happen.
"Of course, if you don't mind continuing working at the bar as managers, I'm willing to hire the two of you, but there will be changes on some of the rules." She continued, catching the two off guard, their eyes widening in surprise at her words. They certainly didn't expect Tang Moyu to say that.
"Miss Tang…" Madam Rong covered her mouth with both hands and started to weep.
Tang Moyu felt another headache coming her way. Why was everyone around her starting to get emotional today? Damn it, she was trying to help here, wasn't she?
Why did she feel like she was playing the bully? All she wanted to do was settle the problem here, so why was everyone around her being an emotional mess?
She pinched the bridge of her nose and shook her head. There was nothing else could she do to appease them, right?
"Please don't cry. I thought you would be happy if you would be able to keep your jobs." She told Madam Rong.
"These are tears of joy, Miss Tang. I assure you." Madam Rong wiped her tears dry and laughed while her husband blinked his eyes and pretended that he only got something in his eye and wasn't crying alongside her.
"Good, because I don't think I can find a perfect manager to look after the business. The tax issues as well as the liabilities would be taken cared of by me from now on." Tang Moyu pulled out a card from her bag and placed it on the coffee table separating them.
"You can reach me at this number. My personal assistant will be the one answering the call as a precaution. If there's anything you need just give me a call and I will arrange for it as soon as I can."
They didn't seem to be against her proposition and Tang Moyu sure hoped that there wouldn't be any problem that would need her intervention in the near future. She had a lot on her plate right now and wouldn't want to deal with anymore issues that she shouldn't have been there in the first place.
While she was busy talking to the couple, Meng Yanran went upstairs, packed up her things and took her car keys, which she hadn't touched since she arrived at the Rong's household.
Looking around the room she had used for weeks, she realized how long she'd been here and how many weeks she had wasted in self pity. For so many nights, she had cried herself on this very same bed she was sitting on right now.
If Tang Moyu hadn't come here and saw her, Meng Yanran didn't think she could muster the courage to go back and face her life. If anything, the empress had given her a chance and a stepping stone to prove yourself.
"Miss Meng, I don't think you know this, but your father has given you a special gift that you can utilize in your life. A gift that no one can take away from you. He has trained you in his craft, something he had kept dearly in his heart, just like you. His princess." Tang Moyu had said earlier.
