Chapter 389 - You Matter to Me Now (1)

The three women and the little buns had taken home a lot of seafood they bought from a local market for dinner. The whole gang went outside to the yard, where it faced the beautiful beach scenery they could enjoy.

Feng Tianyi and Tang Beixuan had volunteered to take over the grilling of the fishes and some meat after the devil finished cooking the rest of the seafood earlier. Meanwhile, He Lianchen and Gu Yuyao took the chance to go on a stroll along the beach.

Gu Yuyao had her slippers in one hand as her other hand was busy pointing at the interesting things she found as they walked. He Lianchen had one hand in his pocket, his head turning to look at what his wife was pointing at. As usual, he gave Gu Yuyao short responses, but his wife didn't seem bothered by his lack of interest.

"You know you are not doing yourself a favor by watching them." Feng Tianyi heard Tang Beixuan laughed next to him. "Why don't you go to Moyu Jie and see what she and the twins are up to?"

"Ah, about that…" Feng Tianyi wasn't sure how he was going to talk to Tang Moyu now. Although she told him that she wasn't mad at him, he was still at a loss on how their relationship would proceed after this.

Well, he had been prepared and had expected that Tang Moyu would react like this. Telling her about the truth wasn't easy, but deep down, Feng Tianyi put his trust in Tang Moyu. He believed that she would hear him out first and would give everything a good thought before making a decision.

"Go. I'm pretty sure you can't wait to talk to her. It's written all over your face. Whatever happened in the past, you two won't be able to change. But you should never let it snatch your ability to decide for your future." He heard Tang Beixuan say.

A smile crossed Feng Tianyi's lips. Ah, Tang Moyu should really be proud of Tang Beixuan. She shouldn't get too worried about her younger brother as he was m.a.t.u.r.ed enough to understand what was going on around him.

He gave Tang Moyu's brother a pat on the back and thanked him.

"Thanks, Beixuan. I sure do hope that your sister and I would be able to overcome this." He told Tang Beixuan.

Song Fengyan came back from the rest house with the little buns in tow. Bringing their own kiddie plates from the kitchen, excitedly waiting for their uncles to finish grilling so they could eat.

Meanwhile, Feng Tianyi went upstairs and found Tang Moyu standing next to the window of their bedroom, deep in her own thoughts.

"Moyu?" He called her out.

"Tianyi." She noticed his hesitation.

"We are about to finish preparing dinner. You coming?" He asked.

"Sure. I'll be there in a minute." Tang Moyu replied, crossing her arms over her c.h.e.s.t and turned back to the window, focusing on the view outside to continue sorting her thoughts.

Feng Tianyi was pained to see her like this. If only he was able to take the pain she had suffered. If he could change the past… No. He couldn't imagine life without their little buns or without being beside Tang Moyu.

"Do you think it would have been better if it wasn't me?" He suddenly blurted his question out of the blue, shocking not only himself, but also Tang Moyu.

"W-what?" The empress blinked twice, looking at him with wide eyes.

Feng Tianyi, who just realized what he had said, looked away in disappointment.

"Would it have been better if I wasn't Baobao and Little Star's father?" He repeated his question.

Tang Moyu's expression suddenly darkened at his words.

"How can you say that?" She said with disappointment. "Even if you aren't their biological father, how can you ignore the strong bond you've shared with them for almost a year of being together?"

Feng Tianyi hadn't expected her response and he felt shame washing through him. What she said was right. Even if the little buns weren't his, what they had together since their first meeting was something no one can never refute or be taken away by anyone. Not even their real father… well, he was.

"Yeah, you are right. I'm sorry about that, Moyu. I should have known better." He sighed full of regret for even thinking about it.

Tang Moyu gave him a good look before deciding that all of this was starting to strain their relationship. She couldn't allow this to happen, not when the happiness she shared with him and her twins was almost absolute.

"Tianyi, I appreciate that you have chosen to come clean and tell me the truth yourself." She stepped forward, closing the distance between them.

"But darling, you need to give me enough time to think about all of this. We aren't getting younger. I can't make drastic decisions without giving it a thought. This isn't just between you and me this time."

Feng Tianyi was caught off guard by the sudden endearment he heard from her. Tang Moyu rarely initiated being intimate with him and Feng Tianyi had only heard once- no, twice, the 'i love yous' from her lips and hadn't heard it since they got together.

He couldn't contain his emotions and drew the empress to his embrace. Even now that they were facing a problem, Tang Moyu still refused to let him go. He was lucky that she was level headed enough to deal with it, no matter how hard it was for her.

"Thank you, Moyu. That's enough for me. Actually, more than enough." He said, kissing the top of her crown as he held her close to him.

So long as she was on his side and wouldn't leave him without a word, Feng Tianyi wouldn't mind waiting for her again.
