Chapter 742 - He Has No One but You (3)
Tang Moyu let out a laugh and kissed her daughter's crown. She felt a little bad for tricking Little Star, but it was better for her daughter to understand that she wouldn't be forgotten and unloved when her sibling was born.
"But Darling, your mommy can't choose whether you will get a brother or a sister." Song Huifen rested her chin in one hand while she allowed Xiao Bao to take a seat on her l.a.p.
"She didn't even know she would have you and your brother as her children," she added.
"So when would we have another sibling?" their little boy asked. Since they kept talking about a new baby, he wondered if their mommy was already pregnant.
Xiao Bao was smart enough to understand the possibility of getting another sibling when his Mommy married their daddy, but that was alright with him. His twin sister had a different opinion though. Since she was pampered since birth, Little Star was extremely clingy towards their mother.
Even when they found their Daddy, there were times when Little Star would seek her mother's company over their daddy. She also only listened to their mother and would throw a tantrum if others upset her.
"We are not sure, Baobao— at least not too soon. So, for now, you and Little Star are still our babies." Tang Moyu didn't dare to lie to her children this time. Until she and Feng Tianyi deemed that it was safe to raise another baby, it could wait for the meantime.
"Then… would the baby be as cute as Auntie Yaoyao's baby?" Little Star questioned her mommy. As a little girl, Little Star loved to see cute things such as babies but she was opposed to the idea of having one as a sibling.
"Don't you like another brother like your Yu Gege?" Tang Moyu asked in return while Feng Tianyi didn't dare disturb the conversation between his wife and daughter. He now understood why Tang Moyu said his plan wouldn't work to Little Star.
Little Star furrowed her small brows much to Tang Moyu's amus.e.m.e.nt. She rarely saw her daughter acting like this. Since Little Star's condition was more delicate compared to her twin brother, Tang Moyu paid her extra attention since birth.
"I don't mind," the little girl said after a long silence. "But he better not take my food like Yu Gege." She puffed her chubby cheeks.
One reason why she didn't want to have another sibling was because she didn't want another sibling like her brother who constantly teased her to no end and sometimes stole her food whenever she wasn't looking.
"Is that so?" Tang Moyu laughed, glancing at her son who had a face that said he wasn't guilty. "I don't think the baby would steal your food. In fact, maybe it's you who need to feed the baby since they can't eat on their own."
"I can share my milk." Little Star's face was now filled with conviction to help her mommy with her new sibling. "Auntie Mei said babies don't eat food but drink milk to grow instead. I still need my milk to get taller so I can only give the baby half of my milk!"
"Ah? Monsters need to drink milk too to grow taller? I thought they only need to eat more meat like you are already doing, Little Star." Xiao Bao yawned, as exhaustion finally caught up with him. He really didn't like trying new clothes but since their Mommy Fen was eager to see them try it, he did as he was told.
"Mommy, Yu Gege is teasing me again!" Little Star glared at her twin brother. "You also eat meat with me. Wouldn't that mean you're also a monster?"
"Now, now, don't fight anymore. What did I say about name-calling, Baobao?" Tang Moyu gave her son a warning look. "Don't make your sister cry just because you are bored."
Xiao Bao immediately muttered an apology to his mother while Song Huifen remained silent, gently brushing her grandson's thick mane with a brush. At the age of six years old, Xiao Bao had truly become the spitting image of his father. Their relationship as father and son couldn't be denied anymore. Just one look and people could already see the uncanny resemblance between the two.
"Moyu, I think it's time for us to go downstairs and see how the preparation is going," Feng Tianyi called his wife before facing his mother. "Mom, do you mind accompanying these two for a while, while we check downstairs?"
"Sure. I'm sure my Baobao and Little Star won't mind accompanying me to have some snacks, right?" Song Huifen said in a teasing tone, winking at her granddaughter.
As if on cue, the two little buns nodded their heads at the same time.
"Can I have some pudding please?" Little Star asked, her round eyes begging her father. Her daddy's homemade chocolate puddings were the best in her opinion.
"Me! I want a cake too! Not the birthday cake, of course," Xiao Bao followed.
"See, I told you they won't mind." The empress dowager pinched Xiao Bao's chubby cheek gently before kissing it.
"Alright. I'll ask someone to bring some snacks here while we are waiting," Feng Tianyi said before pulling out his phone when it beeped inside his pocket. "Your Auntie Mei and Uncle Jiren are already on their way here. I guess we better get going."
At the mention of her twin brother, Tang Moyu fell silent and followed her husband quietly down the stairs. After all that she'd said and done, wasn't it too late for her to treat Zhang Jiren better?
"Moyu?" Feng Tianyi stopped on his tracks when he sensed her distress. Was she still upset over her past treatment towards Zhang Jiren? He had never expected that she would react this way.
"I'm fine." The empress rubbed her arm, a habit that told Feng Tianyi that she wasn't. She was probably uncomfortable or nervous meeting her twin brother again.
