Chapter 495: CSAT cold spell (2)

In the cold spell that haunts CSAT season which boasts sub-zero temperatures, it was still dark around, the sun not having risen just yet.
However, Jegal was seen thanks to the Year Two sunbae-jerks who used their energy waves as a spotlight to illuminate the figure.
“Professor Jegal! …It’s not a hologram is it?”
“Yeah… there’s a shadow so I don’t think it’s a hologram.”
“I think they made it on their own. Some parts are made with energy, but most of it is handmade.”
“No, but why did they dress the sculpture like that?”
Not just our classmates, but even the military cadets and the students from other schools were shocked to see the figure.
I wonder why those sunbaes decided to use the cheering event for the CSAT-takers to promote their planned activity for the Eungwang High festival.
It’s impossible to know the complete intention of the GeumChanWangChan duo, but I could understand to some extent.
Jegal’s face looking down at us with his gentle smile emitted some warmth.
I feel like being cheered up too.
‘They made it well. I think that outfit’s from Neuru though… but it’s handmade to fit the size of the giant statue?’
Jegal is my playable character so of course he looks good on whatever he wears, but the colorful suit looked wonderful on him.
And this was just a teaser, so it made me excited about the actual real-life photobook they prepared.
I should take some pictures.
While I took some photos with my device, I heard the other kids talking.
“We should’ve made one for Professor Ham too.”
“I have a few sketches of Professor Ham Geunhyung, but I’m not that experienced with sculptures so…”
“Wooram was really good at shaping the otherworld ore when we were at Joo-Oh Island. How about asking Wooram for help?”
They suggested that Min Geurin and Mok Wooram should collaborate to make a sculpture of Ham Geunhyung, but it bothered me that my classmates are being influenced by the Year Two seniors.
But is it really a bad thing to commemorate our homeroom teacher?
Before I knew it, I was already looking forward to the Ham Geunhyung sculpture that my classmates would make.
Dokgo Miro’s expression was subtle for a while when the idea was floated, but when Hani expressed that she’d cooperate, Dokgo Miro also volunteered to help.
Meanwhile, the Year Two Class Zero sunbaes seem to have something more up their sleeves.
“Alright, let’s reveal it before the sun rises!”
“Huh? I thought we weren’t doing that?”
“That Wangchan bastard is going against what we discussed again.”
“Stop talking and set it up!”
The Class Zero seniors began to move busily.
I saw a few more tents behind the giant statute, and I was worried for a while that something might burst out of there.
“Wow, no one’s stopping them from Eungwang High.”
“Be quiet, Sihoo-ah.”
I could hear their whispers from afar, but fortunately, their words didn’t reach the ears of those crazy seniors.
Only a few teachers and heads of student formations can control Year Two Class Zero.
My classmates, including the old man, could overpower them if we wanted, but I guess we didn’t really want to do that.
‘Someone will come to stop them soon.’
These seniors were allowed to join the activity outside Eungwang High, but there was no way they would be left unattended.
Someone who can control GeumChanWangChan will arrive soon.
Wiiiing!
Just as I expected, someone came.
When an air shuttle marked with Eungwang High’s logo and Student Association’s badge opened, the student association members began to alight one by one, led by the student representative Yeom Junyeol.
The students from other schools recognized Yeom Junyeol and cheered.
There was a considerable reaction when Dokgo Miro showed up too, but the appearance of a star player made the place roar in cheers.
Yeom Junyeol looked taken aback when he saw the huge Jegal statue, but he came to us first.
“Hi, Euishin-ah. It’s really cold, right? Sorry, I’m late.”
“Hello, Yeom Junyeol sunbaenim. It’s alright.”
Yeom Junyeol sent me his faithful messages as sunbae and student today too.
The temperature has fallen a lot, but the chilly weather was likely to get worse so he texted me to be careful.
I think he knew that I’d be out today for the CSAT event, but I admired my student’s thoughtfulness.
After greeting the other kids, Yeom Junyeol suddenly raised his energy waves.
Fwaaaa!
He raised his hand and at once, Hongryong appeared.
When the body of the flaming red dragon was completely revealed, the surroundings became considerably warm.
My classmates and I reached our hands out to Hongryong to warm up our hands.
Yeom Junyeol didn’t seem displeased that Hongryong was being used as a heater, seeing that Hongryong calmly wandered around us.
“Stay around Hongryong. I’ll talk to the two Chansols. Let’s go, Gyungu-ah.”
“Got it.”
While Yeom Junyeol and Kwak Gyungu went to stop the Year Two Class Zero seniors from continuing their nonsense, a hologram showing Yeom Junyeol’s face appeared all around us.
He was giving a message of encouragement for those who will take the CSAT.
“I think it’s a new video. Maybe he’s late ‘cos he filmed this first?”
“I think Yeom Junyeol sunbaenim filmed it in advance but wanted to give another message of support by live broadcast.”
Saeum expanded the hologram and showed a playlist.
The playlist contained videos of star players cheering on CSAT takers, and videos related to Yeom Bangyeol, Kwon Jein, and Sung Gukeon also appeared.
All the famous players from Eungwang High seemed to have filmed a message of support.
‘Dokgo Miro has a video too… but the view count is low.’
After Playlist ended and Dokgo Miro failed to make a debut, she was slowly being forgotten by the public.
She only appears on TV sometimes through interviews and shows.
However, she’s only introduced as an idol aspirant, not a full-fledged idol.
There was an agency that offered a contract to Dokgo Miro after seeing Yeo Raehun’s success, but the contract wasn’t completed.
‘There must be a lot of bargaining contracts. Decent agencies are still holding back…’
The agency that failed to sign a contract with Dokgo Miro deliberately leaked the story to the media, causing several articles to be written.
An anonymous official from the agency said in the article that “Dokgo Miro presented impossible conditions, making it difficult to proceed with a contract.”
The intention, of course, was to blame Dokgo Miro.
As a result of an investigation by Dokgo Miro’s fandom, the official in the article was tracked down and revealed to be a part of a management company with many controversies such as slave contracts, embezzlement, and tax evasion.
They thought they could prey on a player who failed to debut through an audition program.
“Oh? Kwak Gyungu sunbaenim’s confiscating something from Chansol sunbaenims.”
“There’s a popper or something on the item card… Oh, is it a firecracker?”
“Isn’t it too much for a firework display before the CSAT?”
“Guys let’s set up the stage when the seniors put down their tents!”
We set the stage when the seniors became somewhat calm thanks to the student association.
The student association seemed to want to cover or disassemble Jegal’s statute, but they decided to leave it unscathed due to the strong opposition from the Class Zero seniors.
Eventually, a simple stage was set up against the backdrop of Jegal’s statue and Min Geurin’s placards.
“Yours truly set up soundproofing items and boundary.”
Since the performance is in front of the gate, the boundary was wrapped there to avoid disturbing the students inside too much.
It was a consideration so that only the test takers who want to hear the music could hear it.
The measures took into account the fact that students complained last year when Class Zero played a CSAT-banned song during the midterm exam.
‘Even if it’s not a banned song, people can still get stuck up on song verses. We gotta take care.’
By the time the stage was complete, the sun was already up and the professional player teams arrived.
They were deployed at all test sites across the country in case otherworlds appear.
The player-only CSAT site was no exception.
Players there can deal with low-level otherworlds, but they can’t exactly run out once the test has started.
Since the arrival of the player teams, more and more students began to gather in front of the test site.
And soon, Dokgo Miro’s cheering song performance began.
“I think she’s doing a lot better than during the rehearsal.”
“I guess she got energy since there’s a lot of audience!”
Saeum of April said so, but the reality was the opposite.
She was very nervous because there were recording devices everywhere.
Even in this cold weather, Dokgo Miro was sweating while singing a song.
More than half of the examinees looked at Dokgo Miro beyond the soundproof boundary, but fortunately, the atmosphere was lively thanks to the enthusiastic fans near the stage.
“We should’ve gone to Playlist…!”
“You guys happy that we didn’t get to go?”
Class Zero seniors groaned as they watched Dokgo Miro’s performance in front of Jegal’s statue.
They were very impressed, but they were disappointed that they didn’t get seats for her live performance in Playlist.
“You should’ve won if you wanted to go so bad.”
Ace student Yeom Garam said with a smirk.
The Year Two Class Zero students who won seats to the final broadcast of Playlist were Geum Chansol, Wang Chansol, Yeom Garam, and Jung Haeon, Dokgo Miro’s fansite.
I don’t know exactly how it was decided, but seeing their class’ reactions, I’m sure no one let up during the selection process.
Perhaps those four are the most talented among the mess that is Year Two Class Zero.
“It’s Do Wonwoo sunbaenim!”
“Welcome, Wonwoo hyung!”
As I was watching Dokgo Miro’s stage while holding a placard, a murmur began from the student association.
Do Wonwoo’s ugly phase was quite long, but he was once a very famous player.
His appearance sparked excitement from students from other schools.
“Thanks for this. Isn’t it cold?”
“It’s fine thanks to Junyeol’s Hongryong. It’s a pain in the ass during summer, but it’s useful in winter at least.”
“Haha, yeah. Wonwoo hyung, please accept this gift set.”
Do Wonwoo talked with the student association members, starting with Yeom Junyeol and Kwak Gyungu.
Do Wonwoo told GeumChanWangChan not to cause any more trouble, but they were busy watching Dokgo Miro’s performance.
When Do Wonwoo gave up on talking with the Year Two Class Zero seniors…
“Sanghee unnie is here too!”
“She’s with someone… is that her brother?”
At their words, Do Wonwoo almost snapped his head as he looked back.
In the distance, with the sun shining bright behind them, Yoo Sanghee and Yoo Sanghoon walked toward the stage.
