Chapter 233 - The generous Kiev Second Generation

Before Feng Yu had fallen asleep, the stewardess knocked on the door and inform him that they are arriving and Feng Yu needs to return to his seat and buckle up.

It was still the same stewardess, and she smiled sweetly at Feng Yu. Feng Yu felt embarrassed and returned to his seat.

Kirilenko looked at Feng Yu. He could not tell Feng Yu’s mood from his expression and does not know if Feng Yu was interested in that stewardess.

The plane landed in a military airport. Coming out of the plane, they saw the Kiev second generation. His name was difficult to remember and even thought Feng Yu had heard his name a few times, he could not remember his full name. He only remembered his name has “Ke” in it. So, Feng Yu just call him Brother Ke.

Brother Ke was more arrogant than Kirilenko, and if Feng Yu had not met Kirilenko first, Feng Yu might be good friends with him. But now, Kirilenko was enough. When the Soviet Union was disintegrated, and even if Kirilenko’s father were not promoted, Kirilenko’s status would be higher than Brother Ke.

Also, Feng Yu had never heard of Brother’s Ke before. Maybe he would be someone important in Ukraine’s army in future. But after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, how can Ukraine be compared to Russia? Furthermore, Kirilenko had brought Feng Yu to Ukraine to get bank loans. After this loan, the both of them will not be friends anymore.

“Kirilenko, Feng, welcome to Kiev.” Brother Ke gave the both of them a hug each. Hmmm… his embrace was much weaker than Kirilenko.

Brother Ke was indeed someone with higher social standing than Kirilenko. Look at his car, Rolls Royce. From his car, one could tell how corrupted the Soviet Union’s military officers were!

It was not even noon when they arrived but Brother Ke them to a restaurant. Maybe this was the Soviet Union’s way of welcoming guests.

Feng Yu was complaining in his heart. Lunch now? That means I need to drink again. I still have a terrible hangover from yesterday. Why the Soviets likes to drink so much?

“Brother Ke, I am still underage, and in my country, I am not allowed to drink. Of course, this is the Soviet Union, and I will respect your customs here. I will drink a little.” Feng Yu starts to find excuses. He was drunk from his drinking session with Kirilenko yesterday.

“Hahaha, Kirilenko, did you make Feng drink with you yesterday? Don’t worry, I had prepared red wine from France. The alcohol content is very low. This is a French restaurant. Let enjoy French cuisine.”

Feng Yu heave a sigh of relief. Brother Ke and Kirilenko were two different types of people. One could tell from the way they spend their money. Kirilenko was a typical Russian, and Brother Ke was more inclined to European aristocracy. Maybe his family was some Ukrainian nobility.

The lifestyle if Ukrainian and Russian were very different even though both were from the Soviet Union. Maybe the rest of the allied countries were like this too, and this might be one of the reasons for the dissolution.

Feng Yu relaxed when he saw the red wine. He was prepared to enjoy his lunch.

“Feng, this red wine is just like grape juice. Come, let’s bottoms up!” Kirilenko roared, and Feng Yu was brought back to reality.

Damn, why can’t we drink slowly?

Feng Yu raised his glass and took a small sip and slowly swallow the wine. Kirilenko, on the other hand, drank everything in one gulp. After Kirilenko finished his glass of wine, he noticed that Feng Yu had only drunk a little.

“Hahaha, Kirilenko, Red Wine and Volka are different. You must drink it slowly to savor it. Look at Feng, he knows how to enjoy this wine.” Brother Ke laughed.

What does Feng Yu know? Although Feng Yu had drunk red wine on several occasions in his previous life, he knew nothing about red wine or how to appreciate red wine. He even did stupid things like maxing sprite with red wine before drinking it!

But compared to Kirilenko, Feng Yu was much better, and he could accept Brother Ke’s compliments.

Kirilenko unhappily replied: “Humph! This wine has no taste at all. Do you have Volka here? Give me a bottle.”

If it were in the past, Kirilenko would not behave this way in front of Brother Ke. Brother Ke’s social standings were much higher than Kirilenko. But after trading the industrial machinery and technologies with Feng Yu, and his father joining the ranks of Yeltsin, Kirilenko felt that he does not need to be so courteous to Brother Ke. He had also planned to ditched Brother Ke from their business and do the Sino Soviet trade himself.

This time Kirilenko had chosen Kiev’s bank was after some serious considerations. First, he wanted to show his friendship with Feng Yu to Brother Ke. He wants to show that he was the first person Feng Yu went to when he needed help. Secondly, he felt that the amount of loan Feng Yu wanted was too high. If Feng Yu default the payment, it will also be Ukraine’s bank that would suffer the loss and not the Russian banks. Lastly, he wanted to drag Brother Ke down with this bank. If anything goes wrong, Brother Ke will be the one who would be responsible.

Brother Ke looked at Kirilenko and frowned. He asked his men to bring him a bottle of Volka. He felt that Kirilenko had given him lesser profits for the past few months. He wanted to let Kirilenko drink more and got drunk. This way, he can ask Feng Yu about their trade and see if Kirilenko had taken his share of profits!

Kirilenko was drinking his Volka alone, but he was also listening to Feng Yu and Brother Ke’s conversation. But their conversations were only about some unimportant matters, like hobbies and interests.

Kirilenko finished the bottle of Volka in a short while. Feng Yu and Brother Ke had not even finished that bottle of red wine.

French steak and escargot taste lovely, but the portion was too little. Feng Yu felt that he was only about 60% full. He wonders why Kirilenko ate so little with his size. If it were Wen Dongjun, he would order two more steaks. Feng Yu was embarrassed to order more food. Anyway, they were not there for lunch. They had more important things to discuss.

Brother Ke glanced at Kirilenko and saw that Kirilenko was drunk. He was laughing in his heart. You think you are capable with some money? If I find out that you had given me lesser than what I am supposed to get, you will be in deep trouble!

“Feng, I heard from Kirilenko that your company had some problems and needed to get a loan?”

Feng Yu was eating the dessert, and he nodded: “that’s right. I need a sum of money.”

Feng Yu was thinking to himself. It was not that my company in trouble. I only don’t want to miss this opportunity. If he get loans in Rubles from the Soviet Union now and in a few years’ time, Rubles will depreciate considerably, and even if he did not invest that money, he would also get lots of profits!

“How many Rubles do you need?” Brother Ke asked.

Feng Yu was puzzled. Didn’t Kirilenko tell him?

“Brother Ke, Kirilenko had told me that your help is needed for this loan. My company only have about 30 million Rubles worth of assets. How much loan can you get for me?”

Brother Ke arrogantly said: “I am helping you get the loan. What’s there for you to worry about? Are 200 million Rubles enough?”

What? Feng Yu’s jaws dropped in surprise. Brother Ke was really generous!
